Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Anaheim recently? I wanted some opinions on the hotel and the rooms.

We would also love to read current comments on the Hilton. We just booked a spur of the moment trip March 21-25 there. All our favorite hotels were booked Hojo,Tropicana,Candycane,BWPPI, etc. So we gave priceline a try and got the Hilton for 67 dollars a night. We figured adding parking fee to that we are still about half price of all the hotels listed above!:cool1:

I'm here now, any specific questions?

Personally, the only complaint I have is that their wireless internet isn't that great (had to go with a wired connection).

The rooms are great - we have one of the remodeled ones on the 5th floor. Beds and pillows are nice and comfy. Plenty of room in the rooms, nice size safe (big enough for a laptop), but no in room fridge. We also have access to their executive room on the 14th floor with free breakfast as well as appetizers in the late afternoon.

Cafe Oasis in the lobby has wonderful paninis and terrific service. Front desk staff were quiet nice.

Forgot to add that the walk to the park is quick and easy. We walk along the walkway between the convention center and the Hilton to the walking entrance to the Timon and Pumba parking area. Then we catch the parking lot shuttle to the entrance. Quick and simple.

That is nice to hear the good review! Is the free brakfast an upgrade, if so is it worth it? We were worried about the shuttle issue but sounds like walking is easy! Thanks so much!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info. I just had read that the rooms were old and in need of repair but that was a couple of years ago and I couldn't find any updated reviews. We are heading there today so it's kind of late to change our minds but just wanted to have a heads up as to what we were getting ourselves in to. :)

Free breakfast has to do with the fact that my husband is Diamond Level with his Hilton points, and the meals are a perk. You still have to pay for internet, which seems like a nickel and dime expense to not be offering it for free, but paying for internet seems to be pretty common in this area.

And walking is pretty quick and very easy. Just a short walk, cross Katella at a light (at the entrance to the convention center parking area), and walk right into the Timon parking lot to the shuttle stop. I certainly wouldn't pay for the ART shuttle when I stay here.

Well... you walk outside the hotel toward the convention center, then cross the street to get to the tram/shuttle. So...I'll work backwards to help out a little with the distance. The shuttle stop lines up with about where the Pacific Wharf area is inside DCA. So, once you enter the parking lot, you walk about the distance from Screamin' to the wharf area. The distance from the convention center side exit of the hotel to the Katella crosswalk is about the same distance. I hope that helps. :goodvibes

We stayed on the 6 floor in a king room. We stayed there last Thurs and Friday. Bid for $50 bucks and got it! with Valet $19, taxes, etc. it was about $90 each night. DW, DD, and me. Room with a view of DL and could see the fireworks, but a bit far away-better than not seeing at all. DD is 20 months old so too late for her.

Room was clean, new carpet, flat screen tv, new furniture, nice fixtures. It is a 1980 hotel with 2007 upgrades that are pretty nice. bed was nice as was the linen. Crib was okay, but no bumper, but can't blame them.

We recieved the executive (14th floor) concierge service for free. I asked how much it was if not given, $40 per night stay. The attendant said she just threw it in because she felt like it, very thoughtful! Morning includes continental breakfast, and you can stock up on water bottles, sodas, snacks, coffee, etc. to before you head to DL. It includes also includes one computer to use I think with Internet. You can watch the fireworks from there too the said as you get some fresh cookies and snacks during the show and before you retreat to your room. We always left a few bucks as a tip for them since they were so nice.

Walk to DL was easy even with a stroller. Took 10 mins to get to the Lion King parking lot and got on the tram. Was in the DL lines 20 mins after leaving hotel.

Cons: The Hilton attendant said this concierge service can be overused/busy and not worthwhile on a busy day/night - just too many people for the space which holds at most 50 people. So that is something to consider if you want to go in there at a prime time of the day.

We would stay there again, but want to try a nearby suite so DD can sleep at 8:00 and we can unwind.

Hope this helps! Cheers!
