Hillary's Christmas Wedding PJ/Disneymoon@WL!**UPDATE 1/10! ***

yay!! I'm glad the move went well. I'm so excited for you  this is such an exciting point in your life and I'm glad you are telling us all about it. Can't wait till I get married (like I said before) and have my own place and everything. But till then I get to read about all your plans!! Wohoo!

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Thanks to all my ladies who are reading!! I just wanted to say how much I love the dis, and all of the awesome people I've "met" on here. It's so great to have such an awesome community of people who understand the Disney obsession. DF thinks I'm nuts sometimes, esp when I check the boards when he's around, he just doesn't get it! haha. Anyway, thanks for reading!

So we got all moved last week. It wasn't bad at all, we got SO lucky, the weather Monday/Tuesday while DF was off and moving was GORGEOUS!! It was only like 80 degrees, and SUNNY those 2 days, so it was beautiful!! I had all the windows in the apartment open while we were moving. We couldn't have gotten better weather. Of course now it's back up to about 100 but it's supposed to be cooling back down this weekend. ANYWAY! We got all of his stuff completely moved. He still has all his boxes and computer junk all over our spare bedroom/office, but everything else is pretty much done!! Of course we'll still have to move my stuff, but I'm going to try to take things little bits at a time, instead of waiting until December. As soon as he gets his stuff organized in the office I'm going to start with that stuff first..my bookshelves and all my hundreds of books and school stuff.

I took some pictures last night to share, it's not finished yet, but this is our progress so far...

had to show this too, because I love it so much. It is an old picture of Broad Street here in Augusta, the main street through downtown. We love it down there, alot of our first dates were down there, and when we were younger we went to the bars downtown alot. Its kind of our "place". Well when I was working at the photography studio last year, which has been here since the 40s, the owner found this old photograph, and then added color and started selling it for hundreds of dollars. Of course I got a discount since I worked there, and I gave it to Andy for his bday in March. It's been in a box since then, waiting for a place to hang it, so we were so happy we had a place of honor to put it in our apartment. Yes we are huge dorks but I had to share the story behind it.

its pretty boring and plain, I want a bedroom set so bad, but we have to save money, BOO.

NewApartment004.jpg

We have this set, I'm not using it until closer to December though, so it's "new" still

this is our HUGE closet though! the ironing board is set up there where the washer/dryer will go.

It is SO nice. We have bark stuff, so we don't have to mow! yay! My brother lives in an apt owned by the same company, and they have grass and it sucks, having to borrow my dads weedwacker to cut such a small amount of grass. So this is so nice. And we're on the end, so we have extra privacy w/no neighbors on the other side!!

We still need curtains, I think I'm going to go tommorow to look for some. I absolutely hate white walls, this is my room at home now, can you tell?...

23rdbday007.jpg

I had to add this in there for my TINK ladies!

Random098.jpg

So I hate the fact that you can't paint in an apartment. So I'm trying to brighten it up with some colorful pictures and stuff and curtains. I'll post more pics as it comes together.

Now some wedding/honeymoon updates!! My mom and I are going to go tommorow and try to find ribbon to put the sparkler packs together, and to make the favors with. I really need to get these little things done soon because towards the end of the semester and closer to the wedding I'm going to have NO time to do these things with my school schedule.

And I'm so DONE with the bridal boutique. They are just so disorganized. My mom went up there last week and went off on them...they have told us so many different things regarding when things are going to be shipped, it changes every week. But basically she found out that the first dress I picked out is already there, has been there, they just didn't call to let me know. Which isn't a huge deal, I told them I didn't really need to see it until after the second one came in because the second one is the one I haven't tried on yet, and that is how I will make my decision. But still, they could have called to ease my mind. And the second one came in last Monday, but they are closed Mondays, and the UPS guy was new, so he didn't know, and he sent the dress BACK to the company. So they had to wait on it to get back there, reprocess it, and then send it back to the store. So hopefully sometime this week it will be back. I just want to know what my dress is already!!!! gah. Such a headache.

AND for some fun stuff, the DISNEYMOON! I'm seriously thinking about adding on the dining plan to our trip. Now that we have a package since I added that ticket to get our discount. BUT, I think we BOTH have to have a ticket to be able to add it, so maybe someone can help me with this. So we might have to add ANOTHER ticket.
Anyway, I've just been thinking about whether or not it would be worth it. We aren't big sit down meal people normally, but it IS our honeymoon. And I've got reservations at two nice restaurants, which we may not go to both, but still. Artist Point and Narcoosee's arent exactly cheap. And I know how we both are...we'll go, and automatically look for the cheapest thing on the menu. It would be so nice to go, and be able to order ANYTHING, and not have to worry about it. See, our plan was to go and take sandwiches and stuff for lunch. When I was younger thats what my parents did alot. But we also bought ice creams, and other snacks as well. We did this in May when we went...but PB&J gets boring after a few days, esp at Disney. We ended up always buying something else to go w/the sandwiches, so really, I don't know that it would be realistic to expect us to do that for the whole week.

I talked to Andy about it tonight, he said he sees my point, and thinks its a possibilty. It would add another $560 or so to the trip. We are paying for this ourselves so we are watching our budget. I'm not sure if it's realistic/worth it or not yet, I'm still thinking about it. I just want us to be able to go and have fun and RELAX, and not have to worry about how much money we're spending on food. It's just the old school in me, we went to Disney dozens of time when I was a kid, way back before the DP and I haven't really understood it until now. We'll see...I'll keep you updated. I think we can add it on anytime, but I told DF that if we do it, I really need to make more ADRs for the rest of the week, or we'll end up waiting for hours. When we went in May, we just decided to go to BOMA one night w/out a reservation, and we waited for like 2 hours! Which wasn't a huge deal, we wanted to have time to walk around and explore and everything, but MAN were we hungry and grumpy by the time we got to eat!

Well that's all I got for now. Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Love the pics! Are you watching the Rock of Love?! I missed it yesterday...Who did he pick?!

congrats on your apartment!!! it's so fun to decorate a new place! we have fiestaware too!!! when we were cm's disney was selling off the fiestaware they used to use in the restaurants and we bought a whole bunch of it!!!

hahaha that cracked me up girl! I wasn't watching it, we had been watching something else on VH1, and I just had the tv on still. So I have no idea, I've never watched the show. Sorry!! :lmao: Just funny that you noticed that, I do the same thing, see what people are watching on tv!

congrats on your apartment!!! it's so fun to decorate a new place! we have fiestaware too!!! when we were cm's disney was selling off the fiestaware they used to use in the restaurants and we bought a whole bunch of it!!!

thanks!! It is alot of fun, it's my new hobby!! And I LOVE Fiestaware! I've wanted it since I can remember, my best friend growing ups stepmom had it, and I fell in love with it, all the different colors and mix matching it all. So it was my moms early wedding present to us. But we did find it on sale at Belk's, it was all buy one get one free so she didn't pay full price for any of it!

Aw your apartment is beautiful!! You must be so excited to move in after the wedding. :cool1: The pic above your fireplace is very nice! Thats awesome you got it and it has that special meaning for you.

I love that pic you have of tink in your room!!! Where did you get it? Very cute!

morning Hillary,

just have to say that your apartment is absolutely beautiful!! and a fireplace to boot - how awesome is that??!! and I love your backyard also - I too am one of those "hate to mow grass" people! :rotfl:

much congrats to you and Andy on the apartment. did you ever resolve the "out of towner" dilemma???

looking forward to seeing the gowns!

Michelle :cloud9:

Thanks! I cannot WAIT to finally move in, I hate to leave at night! I got the Tink years ago, at a store in Charleston, SC. It was just on poster size paper, and we bought the mat and frame to put it in. I'm sure you can find them other places. I LOVE it, I haven't decided where I'm going to put it at in the apt though, prob above my desk in our office or something!

Thanks Michelle!!! :goodvibes We really love it, we know we are truly blessed to have gotten such a beautiful first apartment.

And I hope the situation was resolved...we talked about where people were going to stay and we both agreed that we didn't want anyone staying there. He seemed very admant about it, so I'm not worried about it right now. I told him not to put me in that type of position w/his mom, and he said he never would, that he didn't want anyone staying there either. So hopefully that situation won't come up.

Hillary,
I was just catching up on your PJ and have really enjoyed it. Your new place is fantastic! I went back and looked at your possible wedding gowns and notices I tried on the first one you posted with the side that has the gathering on it. Here is some photos if you wanted to see what it looks like on. The first one is of me checking out the price tag and the next one is me showing off my really bad tan lines. LOL But I do agree with you, it is a very flattering dress and I am kind wishing I gave it a second chance, but I digress. Good luck with the rest of your planning!

TheOne010.jpg

thanks for the pics! DANG look at them tan lines girl!! jk.

That's a beautiful dress on you by the way! It's actually VERY similiar to my first one, and yes, very flattering thats why I love it. That's the one I've actually tried on (over and over) so I know that I love it. Too bad I never took any pictures to share! It's the second one I'm not sure about, that I've never tried on. After seeing how flattering that first dress is, I'm not sure if I'm going to feel as comfortable in the other one. But just judging on pics, I would pick the second one first. We'll just have to see.

I have found alot of pictures on theknot, etc of other brides wearing that second dress and it's really beautiful, one thing that concerns me though is that it looks kinda low cut, more so than the other one and I def don't want to feel like I'm falling out! Again, we'll just have to see when it gets here, HOPEFULLY this week!!

Hi everyone! I have a few very random things to share!

First of all, the past 2 days DF and I have been trying to decide whether or not to add the DDP to our trip. My family has never done this, we are from the old school Disney travelers who never had it growing up so it's very new and different to us. And to begin with we didn't have a package since we had leftover 10 day hoppers from May. Well since I called to get the Disney Visa discount and we now have a package (with 1 day base tickets) we COULD add the plan if we want. So I've been trying to figure out whether it would be worth it or not. My family never really did many fancy table service meals, usually just one or two here and there. We always did more table service meals and snacks. So I don't know yet. We do have some ADRs made which I think would make it worth it...

San Angel Inn
Narcoosee's
Artist Point
Ohana
Trails End Buffet

I really want to go to both Narcoosee's and Artist Point, but they are both 2 TS credits each, which will use up 4 whole credits. We prob would pay OOP for Trail's End too, since it's for breakfast and that's only $12. I've set up a spreadsheet and everything, playing with numbers and planning out every day, what we would most likely spend, to see if it's worth it. I THINK it is, but I'm not positive. We're still talking about it. I just need to decide so I can make another TS ADR if I need to. Or change things around if I let go one of those 2 signature meals. argh. Stressing me out. I just really want it all to be perfect, and us save the most money we can and still have a relaxing and fun honeymoon. This is our only real vacation for prob the next year so I want to make it wonderful!

Now for some random pics!

My Precious Moments figurine finally came back today. I got it a few weeks ago but our names were all smudged up so we sent it back. So I'm so excited this one is perfect. I think I'm going to put it on the cake table, or maybe the table with favors/bubbles and stuff. We'll see. I had to have it though!!

NewApartment003.jpg

NewApartment004.jpg

And this a matchbox that we are using to attach to 2 sparklers for each person.

NewApartment011.jpg

We are doing a sparkler entrance instead of exit I think. Since so many people will prob be gone by the time we leave the wedding we want to do it as we get there. So we have the wedding sparklers, and will somehow glue these matchboxes to 2. I love them.

And now some random honeymoon stuff. Our Baggallini came in the mail yesterday! I'm so excited!!

NewApartment002.jpg

I will prob take this also, and let DF wear the Baggallini. We ordered it for him anyway. I got this Vera Bradley bag in May for our trip and it was perfect for carrying my camera, water bottle, money, etc.

NewApartment005.jpg

And my Crocs, I just felt like sharing my collection...

NewApartment006.jpg

NewApartment007.jpg

NewApartment008.jpg

I love them all, but the Mickey ones gave me a blister in May. I think they needed to be broken in better. The Mary Janes are prob the most comfortable but DF hates the crazy colors, lol. And they obviously don't match everything, although I don't really care. I really want another pair, in the tan color but I'm poor. I LIVED in the Athens all summer long, I wear them pretty much everday.

And, my Tinkerbell lanyard. I don't usually wear it b/c it's heavy and annoys me but I wanted to show it off. Hey, I had the camera out, why not?

NewApartment013.jpg

And lastly, my baby Oreo. She was trying to get in all the pictures so I just took one of her by herself.

NewApartment014.jpg

Precious!

That's all for now. My mom and I did some shopping yesterday and found some ribbons for my favors (the boxes with M&Ms) and for the wedding bubbles. I didn't take pictures, but I will when they are finished. I'm trying to get the last of the addresses together so we can get them to the calligrapher and get those sent out. We also found some really cute stuff for the apartment, I will have to post more pictures after the weekend!

I have a crapload of homework tonight so I need to get on it. More updates soon!

***edit***
I forgot to add that I'm totally going to do this. I found this thread last night
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1302485

I wanted to take a small Christmas tree to put in our room (along with Christmas lights on our balcony), and was trying to find some cheap Disney ornaments for it. No luck w/that! But this woman made these, and they look like those expensive mickey heads in the Christmas store, and I LOVE it. I can totally handle making those, so easy!!

I say do the plan! You are still able to do the better plan since its not going to be 2008 yet, you'll get the appetizer that everyone is loosing next year. I think the price of the plan vs what you would spend would be considerable. We didn't know about the dining plan on our honeymoon and we shared lots of meals and what not and prob spent the same amount that the plan would have cost. Use the 2 ts credit places to your advantage, if you aren't a big ts person then double them up and eat CS for the other meals. It'll be one less stress you will have to worry about so you can have a fun honeymoon! Just my 2 cents!

Thanks for the advice! I used alot of those same arguments with my DF!

UPDATE time!!! So after lots of analyzing and going back and forth, we decided to add the Dining Plan!! YAY!!!! I set up a spreadsheet and everything and showed DF what it looked like, and we both came to the conclusion that it was pretty reasonable. It may be a BIT more than we'd spend OOP, and more food than we'd normally eat, but it IS our honeymoon, and we want to have fun and do new things. Plus I do have the Disney Visa discount so it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. So last night we sat and looked at menus b/c we had one more table credit to add, and we ended up changing things around a little. So here is what we have now...

Monday Dec. 10th-arrive, go to DTD for awhile, come back to WL, dinner at Artist Point@ 8pm

Tuesday and Wednesday-no ADRs, we took San Angel Inn out. DF wasn't crazy about the menu, and while it's romantic, it's a waste of TS credit.

Thursday-dinner at Narcoosee's, 7:40

Friday-our free/no parks day. We want to explore the Poly though, and then Kona Cafe at 8:55 pm.

Saturday-Coral Reef lunch at 1:20 pm (we wanted dinner but that place is BOOKED!)

Sunday-Ohana's at 5:20

Then Monday we leave, but we're planning on paying OOP for Trails End Buffet. 9:00 ADR.

I'm SO SO excited. I'm thinking about looking into the diver at Coral Reef, DF would be SO surprised! Like I said, this is WAY more food than we're used to, so it will be a huge splurge and fun to try something new.

And another good honeymoon treat! My mom surprised me with TWO new pairs of CROCS yesterday! I really do have the best mom EVER. She was in Dillards and saw them, she knew what I had been wanting. So I got these..

choccrocs.jpg

tancrocs.jpg

YAY! She actually also got the gold colored MJ's too, she didn't know exactly what color I'd been talking about, plus she got them in a diff size, she couldn't remember what size I needed in the MJs. But they're a little small. Actually they are the same size as the ones I have, but those took FOREVER to get them stretched out comfortably. The brown ones are a bit big, but I think they're better that way? Someone correct me if I'm wrong?? So I'm going to take the gold ones back. But the tan Caymans are PERFECT! I actually wore them all day yday, just around the apartment, cooking dinner, etc. DF was laughing at me but they are SO comfortable. I have the Mickey ones, but I think these fit alot better, much more comfortable.

I am SO ready for December! I am even MORE pumped about our Disneymoon, if that is even possible!

Well we are headed to the lake this weekend, it is GORGEOUS weather, finally back down to like 80 degrees instead of like 110! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!

Ohhh I can't wait to hear all about your wedding and Disneymoon after its all said and done. They both sound so wonderful! I love your pictures and your pins specially the "faith trust and pixie dust" one. Where did you get it?

Thats awesome that you got the dining plan. You will love coral reef, I did! I did lunch too, try the chicken with jasmine rice and of course the chocolate wave for dessert! mmmm I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Well I hope you have a great weekend at the lake!!!

oh ps: love love love your new crocs! I will have to get myself a pair of those MJ's!

Thanks Cheryl!! I cannot WAIT for my Disneymoon, and wedding of course. And I can't wait to share it all, and write my trip report!!

I got all the pins at Disneyworld on random trips. I couldn't tell you where though. Just random pin places.

I'm very excited about Coral Reef too. We've been checking out menus, drooling over what we want. And the Chocolate Wave will DEF be a part of it!

The Mary Janes are the BEST Crocs. Although I do have to say, Ive pretty much had these tan Caymans (or Beach? I dunno the difference) on since yesterday. I had them on ALL day today, and we spent about an hour walking around in Walmart tonight, grocery shopping and my feet feel GREAT!! And DF even said these aren't quite as ugly as some as them he's seen, lol.

We went to the lake today for a few hours, but my dad was busy and didn't feel like putting the boat in the water so we didn't spend the night, we just came back into town and did our grocery shopping, and found some curtains to hang tommorow. And I just cooked a YUMMY dinner, shrimp quesadillas and Rotel cheese dip. YUM-O. And I'm finishing my glass of wine...

Only 71 days until DISNEY!!

I love the pre-trip! Your colors are beautiful.

Thanks, I love the colors too! Thanks for reading!

I really hate Sundays, knowing the weekend is over. BOOO. It sucks.
We did have a decent weekend though. It was really nice out today, so I decided to work on my Mickey head Christmas ornaments. I wanted them for our tree we're going to take on our Disneymoon, but they turned out so great I'm going to put them on our tree at home too!! The painting was the hardest part, not spraying too much and messing up the styrofoam. Took me about an hour maybe to paint them all, and not long at all to put them together. Andy helped me cut the wire I used to stick the balls together. Anyway...here they are...sorry the pics suck, I didn't have my camera so I just used my phone...

orn2.jpg

closer up

or.jpg

These I actually bought sticks of balls on wire, and then just cut them apart and made the heads. VERY easy, they were super cheap at Michael's!!

orn.jpg

And then the topper.

oo.jpg

For some reason the color looks off in that picture, but it's not, it looks AWESOME. For that one I used the metallic gold spray paint and then used a red glitter paint over it, it looks so awesome. I am so thrilled about how these turned out!! Total credit goes to monymony3471 over on the Arts and Crafts board, I ran across this thread, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1302485 and was so excited to see what she did! YAY!!

Anyway, nothing else to report. I put a folder together of all our honeymoon documents and stuff, I had already printed out one copy of our itinerary, but then it changed so I've got to tweak it again. I've also found some cool threads on here that have disney secrets and stuff so I'm going to print some of those too. I've never done Disney in such a "nerdy" way, as DF calls me, but oh well. I did tell him today that he WOULD appeciate come December and we have all this cool stuff to do, shorter waits, and awesome food because of all the planning I'm doing NOW!

Aren't you just the sweetest person. Your ornaments are beautiful. I told you it was going to be easy.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. You seemed to be so organized and totally into all of your planning.

In the back of my mind I'm secretly planning my daughter's wedding at WDW, and she's only 3. He He.

Best wishes to you and your fiance. Again, Congratulations.
