Hillary the Candidate and "Socks".

This is an interesting article about how "Socks" the cat softened Hillary's image in the White House as First Lady. After the White House years, Socks went to live with Betty Currie, Bill's secretary. Buddy the chocolate lab ran into the road and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Personally, I never considered "Socks" as relevant in this race. I don't like Hillary for a plethora of reasons that don't involve her cat. Does this matter to some people?

Wow, somebody is grasping. How incredibly petty. Not that it matters, but for some reason I was always under the impression that Socks was Chelsea's. The cat wasn't tossed out into the street or given to a shelter, so who cares. It will be just as pathetic if a bunch of people try to claim that the conservatives really take this into consideration.

Apparently, this is an issue "across the pond". It isn't for me, nor would it be if I were remotely considering a vote for Hillary, which I am not. Socks probably has a more stable home with Betty Currie than she would with owners who travel extensively and maintain two homes.

I too also thought Socks belonged to Chelsea.

I thought the whole Buddy thing was an accident. It wasn't like Clinton said--"Here, Buddy! Go Fetch...oops!" If that has to be called up--I think it is more than a D/R issue. I think it is an issue only to those who are perfect pet owners.

I guess for those of us in the middle, the fact HC wrote a book espousing the joys of pet adoption (did she keep the royalties?) and then both animals "disappear" after Bill leaves office (and, NO, I am not saying they killed poor Buddy, I am just saying that anyone with a lab knows how frisky those sweet puppies are and should plan accordingly) seems a little "fishy".

I have no idea why they couldn't keep the cat, but they gave the cat to a good home, so I have no problem with that.

It is sad about the dog, but accidents do happen sometimes, no matter how careful a pet owner is.

This would have no bearing on whether or not I voted for her.

Every time I hear/read Hillary nay-sayers grasping at straws to find something negative about her, I become more and more convinced she is the candidate for me. I mean, with Bush....take your pick!! Here's a link of a few to choose from:
