I've been angry since Disney got rid of so many musical acts and changed Akershus. And now I'm mad at Universal for bulldozing the Enchanted Oak.

I swear, there are times when I think that the world has gone crazy. :headache:

I KNOW the world has gone crazy!:wizard:

I agree with you both....crazy I tell you!!!!! Between the Olympics cheating and the politics and the wars all has gone to hell in a basket

Its like so many are no longer accountable for there actions and there attitude is so what:confused3 crime, people not telling the truth.....what ever happened to peoples moral compass? Kids get away with so much these days...teachers can't control them or they go to jail and other teachers decide that sex with there students is okay...need I go on. popcorn::

Makes ya just wanna go hide in the mountains away from all the mess and be a hermit..not really but you get my point.

Hay look I was PM'd a new siggy to use by a friend on the DIS below about Hillary.....one of the 18 million :thumbsup2

You know... I do get upset over everything politics that’s currently going on so I try to get 'away' from it and focus on something happy... which is usually Disney. Except that apparently there are screw-ups in upper WDW park management that are messing with a lot of great things about WDW.

I just read on the theme parks thread that the latest causality is severe cuts on the streetmosphere actors over at DHS.

Well - they have to find a way to fund American Idol. There will be a lot of changes in the Entertainment Department over there. Have they already announce the Fant changes yet?

Yeah, they have. I say get rid of American Idol. I want all of the streetmosphere back.

I hear ya! I love those guys!

I am dating someone that works in that department - believe me they are not happy about the changes either~!

Please tell me that they are keeping the Public Works. I knew two of those guys (I think they're still there) back when I did my CP at MGM.

It is hard to be upset about that considering the gradual decline of the place. It used to be really nice, but lately is a real snooze; nothing there any more.

Bill Gwatney died at the hospital. I don't know if they've released the information yet - I don't think they have. I just found out that my co-worker, who used to live in Arkansas, knows him (not good friends with him or anything like that) and she just received a phone call from a mutual friend. :sad2:

Apparently the shooter went into the Baptist church (across the street?) first and said something about losing his job and then he went over and shot Bill Gwatney.

:confused3

Edited: CNN has released that info. The shooter is dead also:

Apparently Bill and Hillary released the statement.

How sad for Bill Gwatney's family :(

He hasn't said specifically but I will ask him. When and in which department did you do your CP? I used to work in Entertainment from 2004 to 2007.

That is so sad and so wrong. I feel for his friends and family. :sad1:

I did my CP back in '99. I doubt any of them remember who I am but when I was at DW in Sept '06 I saw a couple of them still there that I knew back in '99. I love all of the streetmosphere but the Public Works is my favorite.

I also loved the bellhops that used to do skits on Sunset but those two have been gone for several years now. I don't recall when they left so I don't know if you ever saw them. They were hysterical. They had this thing with masking tape. :confused3 By the end of almost every one of their skits something would end up taped up in masking tape – person or object.

I was standing in line for Rock n’ Rollercoaster during Cast Previews week (Yup, I got to be a guinea pig for RnR while Disney Imagineering was still working out the kinks.:scared: ) and I turned to look behind me and they were both in line wrapping their bellhop hats around their head with masking tape so the hats wouldn’t fall off on the ride. They were still totally in character despite that they were only around castmembers.

Totally OT, but I was at Cast Previews for RnRC as well and on my second CP that summer. I worked over in the MK in T-Land!

I worked custodial at MGM. Wasn't my job of choice, but I found there to be a couple of perks to that job once I got there. One of my roommates worked space mountain that summer.

Whoa! Good for you! Disney custodial has got to be the most valuable yet most under appreciated job in the parks. We were walking out of Epcot on the way back to the BC on a trip a few months ago. I stopped in the restroom at the International Gateway to TCOB. There was a kid who couldn't be more than 17 emptying the garbage in the mens' room and as I walked in, he smiled and said "Hello" in that typically Disney-friendly way that some around here say that they notice less and less these days. As I walked out, he again smiled and said "Good night" but I could tell he was worn out. I don't know if it's against company policy, but I pulled out a $20 from my wallet and handed it to him. I told him to keep his head up and that he was doing a great job. He tried to give it back but I refused and told him to go get dinner on me in appreciation for his hard work and great attitude. He grinned from ear to ear, thanked me and went back to his job with a whistle. I can only imagine how tough a job that is. Keeping the parks up to "Disney" standards has got some seriously back breaking work...

I was a guinea pig for EE when it was opening. Got to love the few perks Disney gives its employees!:cool1: :cool1:

I made believe I was a Monorail driver once.

WDW Security tends too loose their 'Magic" when one tries that!!!!! :confused3
