Indiana looks like a win!

NC - probably still Obama country........

Polls: Clinton gets lead in Indiana; Obama holds in North Carolina
Posted: 11:50 AM ET
Clinton has taken the lead in Indiana, while Obama remains on top in North Carolina.

(CNN) — Hillary Clinton appears to have taken a clear lead in the crucial primary state of Indiana while Barack Obama remains ahead in Tuesday's other big prize — North Carolina.

According to new CNN surveys of several recent polls out of both states, Clinton's lead increased in Indiana while Obama remained the frontrunner in North Carolina — albeit by single digits.

A CNN poll of polls in Indiana shows Clinton now leads Obama there by four points among likely Democratic voters, 48 to 44 percent. Eight percent of voters there remain undecided. That lead is up from several recent surveys of polls that showed Clinton and Obama locked in a dead heat in Indiana.

Meanwhile, several new North Carolina polls indicate Obama holds a clear lead in North Carolina. The CNN poll of polls shows Obama with an 8-point edge, 50 to 42 percent. That margin is exactly the same as it was in a similar CNN poll of polls conducted last week. But Obama had long held a double-digit lead in the state, and is considered the clear favorite given North Carolina's demographics.

Indiana and North Carolina are considered crucial contests for both candidates. An Obama sweep would effectively establish the Illinois senator as the party's presumptive Democratic nominee while two victories for Clinton would give the New York senator a fresh boost of momentum ahead of the race’s final stretch.

On the national front, Obama holds a slight edge over Clinton. A CNN poll of polls shows Obama with a 4-point lead over Clinton nationwide — that margin is slightly higher than it was in a poll of polls last week that showed Obama with a 2-point lead.

I do not think CNN polls have been particularly accurate in the past, have they? On RCP, the last poll taken (SurveyUSA) has Clinton up by 12 points and the last NC poll taken (Insider Advantage) has Obama up by 3 points. Those are the kind of numbers I like to see. ;)

We will have to wait and see how accurate they are.

West Virginia Democratic Presidential Primary
West Virginia: Clinton 56% Obama 27%

Monday, May 05, 2008

When the voting is finished in Indiana and North Carolina, the Democratic Primary competition will move to West Virginia on May 13. That’s a competition Hillary Clinton will be looking forward to with eager anticipation. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the race shows that Clinton attracts 56% of the Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Obama is supported by 27%. Seventeen percent (17%) are not sure.

Please don't forget the banned and missing DISers. Remember, we did nothing wrong. Our only crime was to post on an unmoderated message board that happened to also attract a few rude posters. Most of us are not among the posters who were making trouble. We either 1) Got caught in the cross-fire of the banfest 2008 or 2) Spoke up for our banned friends or 3) Chose to YAGE because we felt it was unfair to be here when our friends were unfairly banned.

You have been told by some DISers that most of these names are "fake" names created to stir up trouble. Not true. Most of you know us well. If you don't, please notice the numbers to the right of the names. Those are the post counts. We are people who have been members of the DIS for a long time and have posted thousands of messages. We have have laughed with you, we have have cried with you, we have have helped you solve your problems, we have celebrated the births of your children with you, and we have have debated with you.

Please also note that the "flavour" of the board is no different than it was before we were banned. You still have trouble makers, you still have people fighting and debating, you still have arguments, and there are still many angry feelings. Even if we are never brought back to the DIS, your boards are no different than they were a month ago at this time. All that has happened is that you have lost 105 of your friends. THIS WAS A MISTAKE!

Please don't forget us as we will never forget you. :sad1: :grouphug:

I'll search the other thread, but wanted to show my support for HC early on this one. :hippie:

Hillary is really in a groove with her speeches & Q&A lately. She was on point & very presidential during Stepanopolis's Sunday Show. Even with the the tough questions Step....& questions from BO supporters & Independents, she looked & sounded great.

Tomorrow's vote in NC is VERY interesting popcorn:: ......a one vote victory there (coupled with a good stomping in Indiana) would turn this Nomination process on it's head.

hound <----- likes a "tough broad" who's also the "smartest girl in the class". :cool2:

:)

Hey Hound. How have you been? :wave2:

Here is my OFFICIAL Call for tommorrows Primaries!

North Carolina
Obama win by 4%! *

Indiana
Clinton win by 5%!

* Please note that this will be the last Primary Obama will win....all the rest are CLEAR CLINTON VICTORIES.

Sooooooooooooooooo Lets start emailing SD's, remind them that indeed Clinton HAS WON THE POPULAR VOTE, and if They take this victory away from the Democrats who voted for her due to a 'Howard Dean created technicality"....... WE WILL BE

1 - Umm...latest polling out west tends to disagree with that first statement.

2 - Hillary's won the popular vote? :lmao:

Hey Hound. How have you been? :wave2:

Hi Punkin! :yay:

A couple of questions to all:

In NC......who is allowed to vote? Dems only? 30 day Dems? Drive by Dems?

& I understand in Indiana that anyone who's breathing & 18 can vote in the primary. Is this correct?

Thanks. :thumbsup2

I like your predictions :thumbsup2

Obama will win NC because of the black vote but it will be close.

Oh yeah, if the SDs take the victory away from Clinton I will be mad. The Dem party will have lost a supporter and if they think Obama is the likely candidate to beat McCain :lmao: <--- that's all I have to say!

Of course I am thinking if Obama wins the nomination and then loses the general to McCain maybe Obama will just go away never to been seen again!!! LOL Probably wishful thinking though ;)

I have been talking to a lot of people that voted for Obama back in February and its funny (and sad when you think about it) but I would say half of them have buyers remorse. They wish they could change their votes to Clinton. They feel mislead by Obama. Don't blame them. :rolleyes1

I for one hope and pray Hillary wins the rest of the primaries (after NC) and hopefully the SDs will do the RIGHT thing and nominated the only candidate (Clinton) that has a TRUE CHANGE on making to the White House.

I am excited to see the results tomorrow! GO HILLARY!!!

Hi friends. Glad I found our new home. I'm cautiously optimistic about our girl. Things seem to be looking good!

Okay Obama folk, don't take this wrong. It could (and probably does) happen to all candidates who are tired and have been on the road so long. But I had to chuckle about Obama repeatedly calling Matt Lauer "Tim" on the Today Show. Like I said it could happen to anyone, but it did make me smile.

Oh Darn! I missed it :rotfl:
You are right it could happen to anyone, but it is still funny ;)

2 - Hillary's won the popular vote? :lmao:

If you count all the votes cast-yes she has. Even if you do not, she has a good chance of actually winning the popular vote before the primary season is over anyway. We will see what happens.

I don't think that's wishful thinking, not at all -at least he'd go away forever as a presidential candidate. BO is not in this to win the nom and lose the GE. I doubt he is ad deluded as some of his supporters are, and he sees the writing on the wall. So maybe, just maybe he'll conced and hope that in eight years the questions about his lack of experence and about Wright will be a thing of the past.

It could happen!

He should have toured with Lieberman so someone would have whispered the answers in his ear.

You mean, like the ones in the rather large state that didn't even have Obama's name on the ballot? Without counting Michigan, she's still losing, even if you include Florida, which nobody does because...well, we've been over that already.

C'mon...you guys don't really take that argument seriously, do you? I know for a fact that the DNC doesn't, and that's where the biggest block of undecided supers happens to come from.

As to the talk of Obama conceding....umm...you do realize he's winning, don't you, regardless of what happens tomorrow?
