Welcome to my world :confused3
Here's why Obama needs to get it over McCain, IMO:

Because it will go WAY beyond McCain. It's the Karl Roves, the Dick Cheneys, the Donald Rumsfields in the Republican party.

A vote for McCain ushers ALL those Republicans back into power for 4 more years!!!! It's hard to fathom that ANY Hillary supporter wants that.

But a vote for Obama in the White House will put people like Bill Richardson, Joe Biden, John Edwards, and Hillary Clinton (Supreme Court anyone?) in positions of power on the Cabinet, etc.

Which world do you want to live in for the next 4 years?

It's not a matter of voting for McCain...it is a matter of voting for Obama or no one.....I will wright a name in if I have to. Obama needs to show me that his judgement is better.....and a few more other things. Will see what he can do as for convincing me to write his name in instead of Mickey mouses....

Or a vote for Obama could usher in types like Bill Aryes, members of the Nation of Islam, Rev Write & Resko. I really question his judgement.

Why is it that some OS are still feeling like the only reason that Hillary is not conceding is because she is waiting for Obama to be assassinated????? Talk about hating and I mean hating another candidate so bad that you would honestly think that....

Obama must be very proud of his supporters that think that way...geesh how sad to hate so much...

Welcome to the Boards & this thread!

Unfortunately for Hillary, Obama did, or does, come off as more personable and friendly to the majority of people. Things she did and said in this contest also reinforced apprehensions people have about her. That didn't help.

This is your opinon not fact! Not matter how it is counted SHE did get more people to vote for her this Primary then he did.

I assume you are a Hillary Supporter. The Clintons have also been involved with shady types over the years (probably all people who rise very high in either party have made some embarrassing connections).

Do you acknowlegde Hillary's mistakes, or are you selectively holding Obama to a different standard?

Why do you think that? He's disassociated himself from Rev. Wright after Wright's second round of craziness.

Does he have longstanding ties to these Nation of Islam people? Do you think he's hiding a secret agenda? I can't see any evidence of that.

My thing about Obama and why I supported Hillary is I think she's just better for the job. I think she's tougher and more experienced.

But Obama has surrounded himself in his campaign with longtime Democratic movers and shakers, not radicals. He's put Caroline Kennedy on his VP search committee for heaven's sake.

He sat in those pews for 20 years and listen to anti American rants. I can forgive mistakes (even Hillary's), but I can't trust a man that listens to 20 years worth of anti American talk at a radical church.
I don't trust him, nor do I believe him. I wish I could because I don't want to vote for McCain.

I did not expect prostration...
but a more specific congratulations on reaching the delegate number to become the nominee would have been appropriate IMHO
Its what is usually done.....

Tuesday night was about thanking the people of South Dakota. She did mention Obama. She said she wanted to take a couple days to "get this right" which I take to mean prepare an appropriate speech to congratulate, endorse and unify her supporters to getting behind Obama. What on earth is wrong with that? At least wait and see what she has to say on Saturday.

Do you all really think the Dems can win if the OS keep alienating Hillary's supporters? What is the goal here? It ISN'T just the disboard, it's on the KOS and others, this same nastiness and sniping. I posted nice things on your thread a couple of times and was ignored. I got the hint. I thought OS would want to attract supporters (HINT: voters), not chase them away.

I'm not saying it's you personally, but this makes no sense at all to me.

Mary

Obama isn't running on experience. He isn't running on a long record of getting things done in Washington.

He's running on changing Washington. Saying he's the same as everyone else should be used more in his stump speeches if that's going to be his defense when little things like this come up. See how that works for him.

They all make mistakes. And I can forgive most. As I stated earlier, I don't think you can sit in the pews of a radical church for 20 years and not share in the beliefs. The beliefs of that church are anti American. I don't trust Obama.

That might be a legitimate concern if the soundbites that we've heard during the campaign were all that came out of the pulpit. But that's not the case. Most of what was preached was pretty standard Sunday fare.

And apparently you are holding Obama to a different standard than Hillary. You can forgive the lies that she told, but you won't trust or believe him?

I am glad that I can correct your misperceptions so that you can vote against McCain!

Yes. He had NOI people working on his campaign-not ringing doorbells. In appointed positions. They have since left the building.

Phleger has ties to Axelrod, who is running Obama's campaign. Phelger has ties to Wright and they both have ties to Farrakahn. Axelrod just happened to be working on a documentary of Phleger. They're all an interwoven tapestry.

20 years of sitting in the pews of an anti american church far outways anything that Hillary did or said. This speaks about Obama's poor judgement and patriotism. I am questioning both.

From a vast right-wing conspiracy to a vast left-wing conspiracy. Do you really believe that all of those mainstream Democrats in charge of the party have been fooled by Obama for all these years? They are comfortable with Obama, so that should alleviate our concerns about hidden NOIs, anti-Americanism, etc.

They want what is best for the Democratic party -- not a presidential nominee who will destroy it!

The little talked about connections to the Nation of Islam are scary. I wonder why the media won't expose this.

OK, since you are willing to admit that you are holding him to a different standard, that is your right. But people with a lot more invested in the Democratic Party than you or I are very comfortable with Obama on these issues. So I have peace of mind.

Because there is probably nothing there. The leaders of the Democratic party have been checking, and the superdelegates would have voted differently if they saw anything scary.
