LOVED Hillary speech tonight :thumbsup2

I admire her more and more every time I hear her speak :)

Loved how she said NO decisions will be made tonight :thumbsup2

Yes - I thought it was a great positive speech. Makes me proud to have supported her candidacy.

Here's a
I think we all need one tonight :(

We just have to take a lesson from our favorite lady, Hillary Clinton, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, keep your chin up and keep looking ahead :thumbsup2

HILLAY CLINTON has NOTHING to be ashamed about She is a strong and smart lady. I am proud of her. Yes, she isn't perfect but she never claimed to be and us supporters never claimed she was. She is just a great politician who got screwed every turn she took.

 She's amazing. She looked radiant tonight. What a GREAT speech!

OK, question:

How many of you would actually support an Obama/Clinton ticket?

I'm not for it. The reason I'm not for it is because I don't think Obama would give Hillary any respect at all as his VP. I don't think he'd listen to any advice she'd offer. I think he'd take the credit for anything she'd get done in the administration. I honestly believe that if he were to screw up this country he'd use her as his scapegoat.

I just don't think that would be a good ticket.

I just wanted to peek in and congratulate you all for having supported a strong candidate who gave a graceful speech tonight. I'm proud, as a woman and a Democrat, to see how far she has come.

As far as I'm concerned, I hope any of you who are interested will join us in the Obama thread whenever you would like to do so, for some respectful discourse. We've got a lot more in common than not, and I will do my part to make you feel welcome if you choose to visit. :thumbsup2

Ugh! The caucuses are the biggest JOKE! I went to ours in MN and it was the MOST unorganized thing I ever been too. I will never go to another caucuses!

Our wasn't bad, but the room was way too small and it was a little disorganized. They did a HEAD COUNT...it seemed pretty unprofessional!

Is Hillary's speech online at all?

Thank you Phragmipedium. Unfortunately few OS are like you. I actually made a visit tonight, and saw insults being hurled at Hillary. I don't think I'll be going back

First of all I would like to congratulate Senator Obama and his supporters on this historic evening.

This has been a true roller coaster ride these last few weeks and this is why our country is the greatest. Every state voted, every vote was eventually counted and the democratic process preveiled.

We, as supporters of Senator Clinton should be proud as hell of her tonight.
She took every shot that was thrown at her and she remained standing.

I have the same feeling tonight as I did in 2000. For the most part I knew Senator Obama was going to win the nomination but I never gave up hope.

For those out there who are going to have a hard time voting for Senator Obama, give it time. Maybe, just maybe Senator Obama will deliver on his promise of hope and change. He sure can't do any worse than the current occupant of the White House. I'm willing to give him that chance.

Hi all. I have been a way for awhile but thought I would stop by for a little understanding this evening. Let's just hope the OS can show a little graciousness and stay off this thread for now. (Yeah right - who am I kidding!:lmao: )

I will not support an Obama/Clinton ticket at all. As I said in the email I sent her campaign - any acceptance of a position with the Obama campaign is like accepting that seat in the back of the bus. I also encouraged an independent run. The DNC has shown the measure of their support and loyalty to her - maybe she should repay them in kind.

I am in FL and there is no way this state is going blue for Obama no matter who I vote for. So I will be voting Green and I encourage others to do the same. Their ideals are what I remember joining the Dems for in the 1st place.

Thanks...and you are always welcome here also:thumbsup2

I've been lurking on the Obama thread and for the most part they have been very gracious and understanding, except for one little troll who has made their first appearance on either thread tonight.

Just some Stats, that the SD's seemed to ignore.

35.6 million people have voted
The 37 primary states account for 97% of the vote.
The 13 caucus states account for 3% of the vote.

Bottom line: Clinton’s lead is from 34.5 million voters (97%) in Primaries. Obama’s lead is from 1.1 million voters (3%) in caucuses

Out of the 50 state elections so far, Clinton has won 20 primaries and Obama has won 17. In comparison, Obama has dominated the Caucus contests by winning 12 of 13, plus the Texas caucus. 42% of his wins are caucus states.

...After 50 election contests to date, Obama leads Clinton by 113 pledged delegates. 97.4% of the difference – 110 delegates – is directly attributable to lopsided victories in caucus contests.

...In the 37 primaries, Hillary Clinton is up 500,000 votes (counting Florida and Michigan and giving Barack Obama 75% of the votes of Michigan's uncommitted delegates.) This give her a 67 delegate lead in the primaries. In the 13 caucus states, Obama is up 300,000 votes which has resulted in a 205 delegate lead

The electoral map:

21 of Obama’s 29 states won are either caucus states or Red states – including 80% of the deepest Red that have not voted Democratic since 1964 to 1976. With a win in SD and MT, he will finish with 230 Electoral Votes –121 of those from Red states.

...Notably, since Obama is the Democratic nominee, he will start the race for the Presidency with 109 Electoral Votes from blue or purple states. That’s 40% of what he’ll need to win in November.

...In contrast, only one of Clinton’s 20 states won plus Puerto Rico is not part of the GE, and only 26% of her total Electoral Votes are from Red states.

...Further, 227 of Clinton’s 308 EV are from blue and purple states meaning that she would have started the Presidential race having won states that account for 84% of the EV needed to win the Whitehouse.

In other words HS'ers, we did good:thumbsup2 , the DNC did bad.:furious:

I'm sorry that happened. I hope you'll try again, and that you'll see that the majority of us are more positive than that. I haven't always seen the kindest things said here about Obama, but I try to look past it and see what we have in common and listen to the respectful supporters on both sides. No one OS speaks for all of us, just as no HS speaks for all. :) For what it's worth, I think many of us (OS) disagreed with any insults and have respect for visitors who aren't there to provoke - sometimes being passionate about politics brings out the worst in us, but I'm optimistic that it can also bring out the best in us and make good things happen.

Please visit anytime, and thanks to all who have been welcoming to me here.

I don't care if I get points or banned.
Hey MAF thanks for joining the party.
Maybe if you read both of the entire threads, you would see that there are a few of your own friends that do not support Obama/Clinton ticket.
I would like to thank all of the Obama supporters who post regularly for showing us - the Hillary supporters some respect tonight.
I've learned a lot from you guys this year, and I do not let anything you say affect me personally. I've gotten a lot of laughs and hope to talk to all of you on the Liberal thread as we set aim on Senator McCain.

I didn't just "join the party", I've posted several times before. Honestly anyone who doesn't support a Obama/Hillary ticket is a fool, point blank. They both have exactly what it takes to make the change that this country so desperately needs. Obama and Hillary are both amazing candidates and I honestly hope that we can all band together to make this a reality. Oh and I apologize to anyone who I have disrespected, but it just angers me when people are so blind to say that they aren't going to vote or would switch parties. Talk like that is completely assanine...

WE sure loved her speech because she was talking to us....but as usual CNN is trashing her speech....and that she did not concede and also that how dare she that she not conceded and in so many words praise Obama to bring the party together.

She is not stupid and knows that he is the nominee......they dont like that she did not cowl to the party. They are saying that it should have been about the Party and Obama...not her. But she was talking to her supporters....and just her supporters. Thanking us.

I do agree that she could have been a little more of a unifier of the party but she is keeping her leverage because if she wants that VP position she cant just say OKAY I give up...she needed to hold her ground. She needs

Obamas speech as usual was great...just wish his questions and answer talks were better. He needs to practice on that.

CNN is still bashing her...funny how FOX has been so removed from that when you would figure they would be the ones doing it....

Me thinks that the OS on the panel wanted Hillary to do this :worship: :worship: :worship: and she didnt....

FOX has done no bashing of her at all. They have been fair and also have gone into discussing the next steps and that is the general and what both candidates will have to do and what they are up against....very good panel..

Unlike on CNN where all 8 of them except one are all OS :rotfl2: that's not bias is it....:lmao: one even said something very nasty...but cant remember what the word was and a few others went WOOOOOOW dont agree with that statement and I disassociate myself from what you said.......

So will be interesting to see what she does next...

I can here Michelle Obama saying to Barack..if you take that witch(change the M to a B) to be your VP I will divorce you.....:lmao:

Of course Fox News would not be saying anything about Hillary. They want to throw more fuel into the fire of separating our party.

:lmao: While driving into work, I was listening to CNN. This was about 7:00pm (est) Somebody was touting that Obama will give THE GREATEST AMERICAN SPEECH EVER TONIGHT!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

They were calling his speech great before he even gave it!:lmao:

Well everyone ... I, for one, am happy it is all over. Hillary had a great campaign, but I am looking forward to beating McCain in November. I would LOVE to see Hillary as VP.

Does anyone have a link to tonight's speech? The talking heads on CNN are kvetching about it.

I just don't think that would be a good ticket.

I am 100% for it. In fact, I've been stating its the only way I will vote for Obama.

And as I am writing it - I need to qualify it. I believe that Hillary earned that spot by her 18-19 million votes - and 1900+ delegates. I believe that she needs to be treated with respect - and offered that slot. She, I believe, EARNED it.

Now if she is offered it, and then turns it down, and he picks someone else who is not Richardson (lol) - then maybe I will consider voting for the ticket. Quite frankly, he's "supposed" to win NJ any way - so me staying home won't matter one whit. I'd like to think my vote is important any way. ;)

I could never bring myself to vote for McCain. Not that he's a bad person - but a vote for him, would be a positive vote for his social conservatism. I don't believe or support that - so I won't vote for it.
