I think the last statement hits the nail on the head. The last election was decided by the Nascar Dads. They overwhelmingly did not "relate" to Gore or Kerry. Will that change with Obama?:

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

And speaking of Obama - he's really upset with Hillary. I think he needs to get some thicker skin - especially if he wins the nomination:

Hillary is being a 'pussycat' with him, for 'the sake of the Party'! Me thinks Obama has been coddled all his life.

If GF (thoo- thoo, throw some salt over my left shoulder, and knock on wood) he gets the nom............THE GOP WILL DESIMATE HIM!!!!

Picture this...The final McCain/Obama debate...Obama will be under the podium, sucking his thumb, crying uncontrollably, while his wife his being 'held back" from beatin on McCain!

:lmao:

It can be kind of entertaining. You're likely to see pretty much anything on that thread. Take a peek if you dare, you'll see what I mean. ;)

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: The last time I was there they were going on & on about how Hillary campaigned in Florida. Out & OUT lie.

When I posted that it was ONLY OBAMA who campaigned in Florida, got no response they still went on in denial talking about something that never happened.

Just about all some of them do is go on and on about Hillary. It's eye-opening. Now there's an article posted saying that anyone who supports Hillary is a lot of really evil things - I won't go into what it said. I really need to stay away from there but I get too curious for my own good.

Edited for clarity - note I said "some". It's true.
:rotfl2: I read this sentance and when I got to the word better I read it as bitter...guess my brain is on a one tract mind after listening to it over and over on the news and reading it online :rotfl:
I read bitter the first time, too. Did a double take and saw it was better.

Are you talking about the article from Jane Smiley(sp)...talk about hate...she sounds like her head was going to explode when she was writing it. :rotfl2:

How can anyone carry so much hate around for anyone. How tiring. She sounds like a nice girl to have coffee with and sit down and laugh with and have a great time ....NOT :rotfl:

There's an interesting editorial in the Washington Post re: Obama and public financing. I found it telling that when political expediency demands it, Obama's promises go out the window. If he gets elected (which I don't think he will, BTW) we are all in for some interesting times.

I call it "some scary times".

FYI, most Obama supporters don't see the halo either. While I never truly liked Hillary Clinton going back to the 1992 campaign, I believe she would make a fine president.

However, I don't think the country will get the needed changes under a Hillary Clinton administration. That's why I'm rolling the dice with Obama. Not because he's got a halo. Not because I put him on a pedastal. Not because he can put over a pretty phrase. And, frankly, no one in their right mind has called me politically naive.

I'm supporting Obama because I believe there are deep institutional problems in this country and I believe there's a better chance of solving those problems with Obama. I believe that's why most of us are supporting him.

I call it "some scary times".

The scariest times of all would be if John McCain gets in the WH. It'll be 4-8 more years of "no strings free trade", no healthcare reform, no Pentagon reform, etc.

That prospect should scare the hell out of any thinking person.
Oh your no fun :rotfl:
Okay, so one or two would be okay. :)

Seriously, all of this campaign stuff makes my head hurt. I really will be glad when all of this is over and we have our first woman president. However, that's not why I'll vote for Hillary, but it is a plus for this Kentucky living, white woman!

This campaign is scary and the prospect of the wrong person winning the Presidency is scary. (I mean McCain!) We have to stick together even while we try to tear out each others' throats. The anger will only help the Republicans IMO.

I wonder if McCain would be so bad? Yes, we lose the Supreme Court and stay in Iraq longer (but not indefinitely because there is bipartisan consensus that we need to get out, it is only a question of how soon), bt least I am pretty sure I know what I am getting with him. Obama is a complete unknown and I do not like the few things that have come out about him. I do not believe he has been fully vetted yet and I do not like what has been vetted so far.

Vote for McCain and you'll get 4-8 years of more of the same. If that's what you want, more power to you.

What makes you think you'll get out of Iraq with a Republican in the WH again? There's bi-partisan support for a responsible withdrawal. How's that working out?

There's bi-partisan support for a lot of issues NOW that can't be implemented because of the Republican in the WH. If you think that's going to change with another Republican named McCain, by all means vote for him.

Didn't you say Obama and Clinton had their chance and the supers were going to swoop in and make a big move? And didn't you say you weren't going to vote for Clinton at one point?

What's your position today?

I thought long and hard about this.

McCain will not be as bad as Bush - no question about that. But I can't have another 4 years of Republican governance on my conscience.

I still don't think Obama can win it all - but if he becomes the democratic nominee - I would like to see me proved wrong - at least so we can have some policy changes.......

Unfortunately I may have to make that decision in November, which is a shame all around.

Last election I voted for Kerry even though I did not particularly like him. I found him unexciting and uninspiring, but I thought he would make a competent president. I am almost sure at this point that Obama (while I will give him that he is brilliant and inspirational) will be a lousy president who will accomplish nothing.

At least McCain has shown that he can work with people across the aisle.

Yes it is a conundrum for me and one I feel will not be decided 'till November (unless Hillary gets the nod).

I also agree with this completely. He can get the nomination, but based on the voting patterns in the primaries, he will lose the general.

No, I never said the SD's were going to "swoop in and make a big move". If you know differently, now would be a good time to show what you know.

And get with the program: Quite a while ago, I said I would sew my nostrils shut to vote for Hillary Clinton if the choice was between her and McCain. I even offered to sew WVrevy's nostrils shut so he could do the same.

**Edited to add*

Yes, I did say that about Obama and Clinton. That was right after the Rev. Wright flap and I didn't see how Obama was going to handle it.

Hard to believe, but I was wrong.

Which leaves one to ponder this question:

Why does the media seem so biased toward Obama...is it because they think he will win, or because they believe he won't?
