Remeber I posted about my next door neighbor placed Obama Posters on their lawn.

Well anyway I told her allllllll about Obama....Brought up the points about that there is conspiculously NO ONE from his past who he has helped.

About throwing his Grandma under a bus,

His speech regarding racisim was telling everybody else what is wrong with them, and he is somehow above it all.

..and his qote about meeting the Farmer in Idaho and was "SHOCKED" that the farmer knew about Burma.

I also pointed out that the people supporting him are all other politians....Where are the regular folk that are his contituency! (that sealed the deal)

Seems like the Obama people sold her a bill of goods and she bought it 'lock stock & barrel"!:rolleyes1 She said they told her that he will end the war & bring everyone home by March of 09! I am a proud Hillary supporter. I attended the Elton John concert Wednesday night. It was a lovely site to see Hillary, Bill and Chelsea together on stage. The audience was inspired by them. The concert was great, too, especially since it was my 40th birthday present.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY:wizard:

As many of you know there was protest against media bias today in Rockefeller center which was organized by Hillaryclintonforum.net

Have MSNBC, Matthews or Olbermann acknowledged this?

Clinton hits Obama over 'bitter' comment

(CNN) — Democrat Hillary Clinton is seizing on comments Barack Obama recently made in which he said some Pennsylvanians who have lost their jobs are "bitter."

"It's being reported that my opponent said that the people of Pennsylvania who face hard times are bitter," Clinton said during a campaign event in Philadelphia. "Well that's not my experience. As I travel around Pennsylvania. I meet people who are resilient, optimist positive who are rolling up their sleeves."

"Pennsylvanians don't need a president who looks down on them," she said. "They need a president who stands up for them, who fights hard for your future, your jobs, your families."

Good for her!!! Go Hillary!!! He's just annoying me to no end right now. I also can't think of Hillary not being the nominee...makes me sick. Actually, I think I'm going to bed now and watch a nice movie.

Obama's Remarks Gives Clinton an Opening
(04-12) 13:56 PDT Mishawaka, Ind. (AP) --

A political tempest over Barack Obama's comments about bitter voters in small towns has given rival Hillary Rodham Clinton a new opening to court working class Democrats 10 days before Pennsylvanians hold a primary that she must win to keep her presidential campaign alive.

Obama tried to quell the furor Saturday, explaining his remarks while also conceding he had chosen his words poorly.

But the Clinton campaign fueled the controversy in every place and every way it could, hoping charges that Obama is elitist and arrogant will resonate with the swing voters the candidates are vying for not only in Pennsylvania, but in upcoming primaries in Indiana and North Carolina as well.

Political insiders differed on whether Obama's comments, which came to light Friday, would become a full-blown political disaster that could prompt party leaders to try to steer the nomination to Clinton even though Obama has more pledged delegates. Clinton supporters were eagerly hoping so.

They handed out "I'm not bitter" stickers in North Carolina,:thumbsup2 and held a conference call of Pennsylvania mayors to denounce the Illinois senator. In Indiana, Clinton did the work herself, telling plant workers in Indianapolis that Obama's comments were "elitist and out of touch."

The Company He Keeps
Meet Obama’s circle: The same old America-hating Left.

By Andrew C. McCarthy

Why is Barack Obama so comfortable around people who so despise America and its allies? Maybe it’s because they’re so comfortable around him.

He presents as the transcendent agent of “change.” Sounds platitudinous, but it’s really quite strategically vaporous. Sen. Obama is loath to get into the details of how we should change, and, as the media’s Chosen One, he hasn’t had to.

But he’s not, as some hopefully dismiss him, a charismatic lightweight with a gift for sparkling the same old vapid cant. Judging from the company he chooses to keep, Obama’s change would radically alter this country. He eschews detail because most Americans don’t believe we’re a racist, heartless, imperialist cesspool of exploitation. The details would be disqualifying.

I hate to agree with anything in the National Review, but once I heard Wright's view on America, it completely transformed Obama for me from an inexperienced, but well meaning man for whom I could see myself voting to someone whose views on race and fundamental American mores are diametrically opposed to my own.

I think that Obama chose his words poorly but I think I kind of see his point. I do imagine that many people are somewhat disillusioned by politicians since little useful has been done in a very long time. I don't like the term "bitter" though because that infers resentment and deep anger and I'm not sure that's what most people are all about.

Also, I resent that he obliquely slammed Bill since I'm still a fan. Things were WAY better in my world when Bill Clinton was President and for a few years after Bush took over. They've gone in the toilet in recent years though.

I promised to not post here, but I can't resist this..it is too near and dear my heart.

My dad has lost 5 jobs in 4 years due to Nafta type issues. Most of his adult life he has been laid of due to Nafta type issues. He is 60 years old...too young to retire (without taking a huge cut in SS) and too old to start over. Because of all of his job layoffs/losses he has had to use his retirement savings to live on. About all he has left to cling to is his faith.

YOU ARE DARN RIGHT HE IS BITTER.

And he is an even stronger Obama supporter now because he feels Obama is the only one of the 3 who understands his frustration and bitterness.

SO please, before you all look down on Obama for speaking the truth, realize that there ARE REAL people out there who are suffering.

BTW, my dad lives in a small Ohio town.

I'm done..:guilty: :sad1:

P.S. Please note that I in no way shape or form have insulted Sen. Clinton in this post., I am really not even trying to insult any of you... I simply wanted a few of you to realize that there are people in real life affected by multiple job losses due to companies moving out of the U.S. and who are very frustrated and bitter.
It's not all smilies and flowers in the real world.

I agree. When all this started which seems like a life time ago. I was sooooo excited that we had Hillary, Obama and Edwards in the mix. I thought how great! When Edwards droped out I was still happy because we had to candidates that either way I was thrilled with.

But as time has gone by I have been getting more and more unhappy with Obama. Not the mistakes he has made so much but the persons that he attributes to be his friends. His words however really felt insulting. Maybe it is because it was spoken that way to a bunch of rich CA. during a fundraiser.

It was to me kinda like...when someone, say a white guy, is in a crowd of black people and saying how much they understand there trials and tribulations....than when there with all of there white friends they start using the N word all over the place.

I felt like he was saying this to the rich people for comradery(sp)...as to be one of them and talk about the poor working class people as if they are beneath them and that is why they act that way.

The problem with him changing his words is that the damage is done. It was just like with Hillary on the Bosnia thing. To late to explain it the damage was done.

I don't think Obama is against poor people but he worded as if he was above them. I think he did it because he felt the people that he was taking to felt that way so go with the crowd. I state this because have been around many Rich people and they blame the worlds troubles on the poor...welfare and so on.... some not seperating the hard working americans that are stuggling whom are the back bone of this country.

Curious to see what will become of this. they have said that it wont hurt him to much at this point in the primaries but it will be a doozy during the general. And that was remarks made from his supporters.

OK, so I'm wrong. :flower3:

I know that people have lost jobs and are scrambling to make ends meet. I've been laid off twice and DH once and he was no kid when he lost his job a few years ago. It's hard and my heart goes out to people like your Dad who are just about at their wits end and certainly have the right to be bitter.

I guess I'm thinking of my own reaction too much. I tend to feel sad and tired. :(

Posts like yours are valid and extremely welcome on this thread. You have a real point to make and a real reason for supporting your candidate. Don't worry, we only bite the nasty people.

As for the specifics, why is Obama's stance on NAFTA significantly different that Clinton's? It seems to me that both platforms are almost identical on the issue.

Sorry about your dads hardships. But there is no proof that Obama can pull all this together either or any of the candidates.. I grew up in a poor family...hard working DAD. Ups and downs. So I took offense at what he said because I felt like he was belittling in his words to me and my family.

He was talking to a bunch of Rich people and chose those words. He used different words to explain himself as if others did not understand his words in the first place. They were well chosen words he first used and he did not struggle with them when they came out.

Why did he find it so necessary to use words that came out insulting. He is a great speaker. There are many bitter people in this world not just in small towns that have lost there jobs, and not all of them have turned to guns and religion and so on. Some have struggled to get out of that and have.

Me for one. I was poor and took offence because I did not turn to guns and religion because of that or any other comment he made . I turned to the lord because I love GOD and I hate hate hate guns.

I do not feel this way because I am a Hillary supporter. I would be offended out of anyone's mouth. I don't speak of anyone that way and I would expect the next possible POTUS to do the same.

By the way when this story first broke I was doing the dishes and DH turned on the news and they were in the middle of what was said....I commented as it was being said and I replied....who the heck said such a stupid statement that is so insulting. Than they said the name Obama. So Before I even new who it was from I remarked about it.

Again i understand your family's hardship and have been there myself. I hope that whom ever the next POTUS is on top of this economy and makes important changes to NAFTA. But remember ...Obama is not going to take away NAFTA. Both Hillary and him want to revise it.

Good luck to you...and you are welcome anytime. And remember this is JMO....and not necessarily the opinions of others. I took it this way because of my own life expericances. They hit home to me different than to you ...but at least they hit home. And something needs to be done......to many are duffering because of it.

I don't know why you feel you have to say this to us? :confused3 I can't imagine a soul on this thread jumping down someone's throat for sharing info with us. We just get really tired of people attacking Hillary or her supporters. We really do want to get along. Thank you for your polite post.

My DH also lost his job to outsourcing. He was without work for months and when he finally got a job again, it was at a huge cut in pay. But he took it, thinking he'd work there at least until something closer to his old salary opened up. We were paying HUGE amounts of money to stay on COBRA. No way could we let insurance go, because I've had breast cancer. Then when a better job opened up with the governement, they wouldn't give him anything near his old salary because it wasn't his last job. So if we'd stayed on unemployment he'd have earned a better salary.

After several years, we're getting close to where we were before, but with the price of gas and groceries and a son in college we're much worse off than we were before. Are we bitter? No. Sad and a little disheartened. But I don't think it pays to be bitter so I won't go there. We certainly haven't turned to guns and religion because of it. I'm not even sure I really understand what he meant by that. Religion was part of our lives before. We were active in our church and continue to be. Yes, we have guns in our home. They are for hunting and my DH hasn't even touched them in a number of years except to train Boy Scouts.

I'm sorry your dad has had it so rough. That stinks. And granted he's had and lost more jobs, so I'm sure he's even more frustrated than we are. I'm sorry if it has made him and others bitter. And I mean that sincerely. We really need a Democrat in the White House to get things turned around. I really believe that.

Thanks for your thoughtful post. Please stop back by. We'd love to hear from more Obama supporters like you.

Agree with you here. I think the word "bitter" is what is getting him in hot water. Some people are bitter - some are not ......

Any candidate has to be careful with their generalizations in this election.

Plus - Hillary and Obama are so close on the issues - that unfortunately any time one side is perceived to have made a gaffe - the other side jumps on it.......

The PA election can't come soon enough for me.

Hannity is sure after Obama....he is talking about him and his voting snafoos. He is more angry at the media for favoring him that looking into his records. So he finds what he can and runs with it.

He is going over everything including all his past word snafoos and his Rev and all his so called friends.

I heard on last night that Obama is re thinking of using donated moneys for the general even though he said that he would not. McCain plans on holding him to it. Wonder how he will do without all his money?

If he did not have all of it to do all he has during this primary i don't think he would have gotten so far.

Will just have to see if he gets the nod.

This is another 'tell tale" sign from Obama. First off loosing ones job is NOT just a smal town America problem, its also a BIG CITY problem. I've been there done that...Have I been bitter....NOPE....THOUROUGHLY PEEVED...but not bitter.
His words also assume that only bitter people turn to guns & God. Not too mention extremely condesending. I may see it more easily, cause I see him as extremely condesending always.

Just another time that Obama has told everyone what is wrong with them....yet gets people to agree :confused3 , but yet again he offers no real solutions on how to fix it.

He is great at putting into words what many people feel....and they say  yeup and put their full faith in him. But thats it!!!!! Again no solutions were offered. However when his speeches are wrong ...HE IS VERY VERY VERRRRRRRRRRY WRONG.

I often liken him to the guy in the office (everybody has one) who states the obvious of what is wrong with the office, but offers no suggestions on how to fix anything.:rolleyes1

12 reasons 'bitter' is bad for Obama

1. It lets Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) off the mat at a time when even some of her top supporters had begun to despair about her prospects. Clinton hit back hard on the campaign trail Saturday. And her campaign held a conference call where former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack, a Pittsburgh native, described Obama’s remarks as “condescending and disappointing” and “undercutting his message of hope.”

2. If you are going to say something that makes you sound like a clueless liberal, don’t say it in San Francisco. Obama’s views might have been received very differently if he had expressed them in public to Pennsylvania voters, saying he understood and could alleviate their frustrations.

3. Some people actually use guns to hunt — not to compensate for a salary that’s less than a U.S. senator’s.

4. Some people cling to religion not because they are bitter but because they believe it, and because faith in God gives them purpose and comfort.

5. Some hard-working Americans find it insulting when rich elites explain away things dear to their hearts as desperation. It would be like a white politician telling blacks they cling to charismatic churches to compensate for their plight. And it vindicates centrist Democrats who have been arguing for a decade that their party has allowed itself to look culturally out of touch with the American mainstream.

6. It provides a handy excuse for people who were looking for a reason not to vote for Obama but don’t want to think of themselves as bigoted. It hurts Obama especially with the former Reagan Democrats, the culturally conservative, blue-collar workers who could be a promising voter group for him. It also antagonizes people who were concerned about his minister but might have given him the benefit of the doubt after his eloquent speech on race.

7. It gives the Clinton campaign new arguments for trying to recruit superdelegates, the Democratic elected officials and other insiders who get a vote on the nomination. A moderate politician from a swing district, for example, might not want to have to explain support for a candidate who is being hammered as a liberal. And Clinton’s agents can claim that for all the talk of her being divisive, Obama has provided plenty of fodder to energize Republicans.

8. It helps Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) frame a potential race against Obama, even though both of them have found support among independents. Now Republicans have a simple, easily repeated line of attack to use against Obama as an out-of-touch snob, as they had with Sen. John F. Kerry after he blundered by commenting about military funding, “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it.”

9. The comments play directly into an already-established narrative about his candidacy. Clinton supporters have been arguing that Obama has limited appeal beyond upscale Democrats — the so-called latte liberals. You can’t win red states if people there don’t like you. “Elites need to understand that middle-class Americans view values and culture as more important than mere trickery,” said Paul Begala, a Clinton backer. “Democrats have to respect their values and reflect their values, not condescend to them as if they were children who’ve been bamboozled.”

10. The timing is terrible. With the Pennsylvania primary nine days off, late-deciding voters are starting to tune in. Obama and Clinton are scheduled to appear separately on CNN on Sunday for a forum on, of all topics, faith and values. And ABC News is staging a Clinton-Obama debate in Philadelphia on Wednesday. So Clinton has the maximum opportunity to keep a spotlight on the issue. Besides sex, little drives the news and opinion industry more than race, religion, culture and class. So as far as chances the chattering-class will perpetuate the issue, Obama has hit the jackpot.

11. The story did not have its roots in right-wing or conservative circles. It was published — and aggressively promoted — by The Huffington Post, a liberally oriented organization that was Obama’s outlet of choice when he wanted to release a personal statement distancing himself from some comments by the Rev. Wright.

12. It undermines Democratic congressional candidates who had thought that Obama would make a stronger top for the ticket than Clinton. Already, Republican House candidates are challenging their Democratic opponents to renounce or embrace Obama’s remarks. Ken Spain, press secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said: “There is a myth being perpetuated by Democrats and even some in the media that an Obama candidacy would somehow be better for their chances down ballot. But we don’t believe that is the case.”
