Pa. Dems Set Enrollment Record

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Democratic Party enrollment surged past the 4 million mark Monday, setting a state record on the last day Pennsylvanians had to register to vote in next month's presidential primary....

....the number of Democrats increased by more than 161,000, or more than 4 percent, to at least 4,044,952. No political party in the state had previously reached the 4 million threshold.....

....Registration in the GOP declined by about 1 percent, to 3,215,478 statewide.....

....The largest percentage gains were concentrated in the Philadelphia suburbs and the state's central region, mostly in counties where Republicans still outnumber Democrats......

....Of the more than 8.2 million Pennsylvania voters, more than 120,000 are people who were not previously registered to vote......

:scared1: I better get to the polls early that day!!!!!!!!;)

WOW...thats alot of waiting in lines if you ask me. I wonder how many switched from Rep to Dem...in addition how many reg. rep will show to vote for MCcain to show there strenghts when coming out in numbers.

Is there anything else on the ballot that would make voters come out in droves...what about the Gun issue?

Do you have early voting in PA? We can vote for about a week before the actual "electio day" here in TX.

No. Regular 8am to 8pm! You can vote absentee...BUT You better be absent from the state that day, otherwise it is against the law. I dunno how they check.

http://www.pollster.com/ is my fave, they average ALL the polls. But nothing has been done in over a week.

I totally agree here - I've really never had to "hold my nose" to vote - I think that's because the primary had always been decided before I had to choose - so I had time to digest all the information about our nominee.

I really liked Gore - it was a travesty what happened to him. Had he run this time - I would have been on his team, and not Hillary's.

Obama is going to be learning on the job - and will be bound to make many mistakes in the beginning (just like Clinton & GWB did). The question is - are we at a time in history - where we can afford to recover from these mistakes?

At this point in time - unless Hillary is the VP choice - I will be voting by not voting for President.

I just can't bring myself to not vote and I also can't bring myself to vote for McCain. More and more, I'm thinking I'm going to vote for Hillary, even if I have to write her in. That's pretty much the only solution I can live with - at this point.

Thanks I have not found one either since last week and would love to see if there is any change since last week.

:sad2: We are voting on Town Librarian here!

True. His California First lady endorsement didnt help either.

Really, when was the last time you heard ANY politian endorse another polititian and said "OK now I know who to vote for!" ?

Never. All it does is get good press........

I think that Edwards' endorsement would mean something to me but only if he explained why in reasonable terms. It would at least add something else to mull over.

Good idea. Perhaps I'll do that too.

I wonder if they really count those write in votes........

Edwards would matter to me also but not Richardson. Edwards was a much bigger candidate in my eyes. I agreed with much of his issues and also I liked him and felt him to be a kind and caring person with passion for what he believed in. It was not all about him.

I do believe if he were to endorse Hillary the tides would turn. and if he were to endorse Obama than the tides would turn in his favor. don't see that much of a pull from Richardson however.

I felt the same way about Edwards. I was already in his corner so I kind of floundered around for a while until I settled on Hillary. I think that he would have made an excellent President.

I agree that Richardson won't have much of an impact. He wasn't doing much as a candidate so I can't see him making much difference to Obama.

I'm not going to lie - Richardson SHOULD have endorsed Hillary - the Clinton administration gave him national exposure with a national position - which he turned into a successful campaign as governor - which was\is a way to enhance his resume for a potential run as president.

And now, he still insists he's loyal to the Clinton's? Please. He can endorse whoever he wants - but don't pretend you still have loyalty to the other side! Must be a new definition of loyalty!

He went with the media established front runner. And I still suspect he was promised something!

O I so agree....cant see him jumping ship otherwise. Would you do that to a close friend who's values you have stood by for so many years, and leave because of a speech?

Either that or he has wanted to jump ship for a long time and waited as long as he could. Just imagine all the secretes that he brings over to the Obama camp with him about the Clinton's....and their strategies and what there game plans are to move forward....

so do you think he will kiss and tell...you betcha

Especially THAT Speech!:scared: YUK!

'Im Obama and I stand in front of all these flags to quote the Declaration of Independance, the Constitution and tell you how WONDERFUL I am:snooty: ...and youre not....Oh by the way....Grandmas is here, let me know when the bus rolls by!"

I'd be the last to say that. I know most endorsements come down to what can it do for their careers.
A Politician is a Politician is a Politician.....I for one think that Hillarys Campain is not totally honest and she does play to win and throws the kitchen sink at whom she must.

My problem with Obama doing this is that he states that he refuses to run a campaign like all the rest have in the past..dirty politics...yet he does, and yet continues to deny that he does....
Yep, they're all politicians. They do what they feel will get them the most votes. They all do the double talk and try to slip out of answering sticky questions. It's part of the game. What bothers me is that Obama says he's not cut from the same bolt of cloth, but his campaign sure looks like it is. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck....
