Did anyone watch The Tonight Show? John Edwards was a guest. Of course I'm paraphrasing what he said, but you get the idea. He did a good job of talking about unification of the party. He isn't taking sides...says both candidates deserve the support of the whole party, when one of them gets the nomination. I still think he's a class act, but my DH can't stand him.

I didn't even know he was on! What did he say? I would have watched :( I was up and all....

Actually, last night they announced that you can now watch past episodes of The Tonight Show online. So if you want to watch it you can.

He said he's not planning on running for president again, but he hasn't ruled it out either. When asked if he'd like a post under either candidate, he also left that open.

Thanks, I'm off to watch it...

According to his campaign this race is over, there's no way for HC to catch Obama. And part of the reason why is because of his positive new-style campaign, right? So then why this today?

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4495865&page=1

Obama Camp Goes Negative

Obviously he was forced into it. He's too good of a person and different from the old style politician to go that route.

Wow. Just when I was reconsidering him again........

After these negative attacks permeate - his 63% is going to go down...... Then will a majority vote for him? And McCain is beating his trustworthiness - 67% to 63% - does that mean McCain will win?

What nonsense.

President McCain here we come........ :confused3

The campaign of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., delivered one of its harshest, most negative attacks yet today, asserting that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., is lacking in character and regularly misleads voters.

"She is not seen as trustworthy by the American people," said Obama campaign manager David Plouffe in a conference call with reporters this morning, citing a Gallup poll released this week indicating that only 44 percent of the American people consider Clinton "honest and trustworthy," as opposed to 67 percent for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and 63 percent for Obama.

Plouffe said this perception would make it "next to impossible" for Clinton to win the general election.

Hi everyone I am back and tired and have sore feet. I wore a pedometer to track how many miles I walked in 6 days...I took it off at home and it came to 120 miles...WOW...but ya wanna know the worse part...I weighed more when I got home than when I left  Soooo whats up with that :confused3 my new sneakers damaged both my big toes and the toe nails are destroyed and my legs are swollen...so maybe I just have to wait till I am no longer a water balloon.

Anyway we went to bed at 11:00-12:00 pm and got up at 6 am everyday and walked and walked and than walked some more....we saw so much and my AWWWWW moment was when I stood in the same spot that Martin Luther King did at the Lincoln Memorial and gave his speech...

My second best moment was the Battle field at Gettysburg ..how ery that place is...my 3rd was at Mt. Vernon(Washington's home) and standing there staring at his tomb.

The Arlington Cemetery and all the memorials like the Vietnam memorial comes without words.

It was an awesome trip!!!!..the Red eye truly sucked... we left at 10:30 pm landed in Atlanta at 4am next plane to NYC at 7am landing at 9:30 am... and took a 3 hr bus ride to Philly got off and our tour began and did not check in to the hotel till 10pm..man O man talk about tired than we got up at 6am. which was actually 3am to us west coasters and began our day...

All the kids were great and we all had a memorable trip...:thumbsup2

That bit about "typical white person" caught my eye too but it makes sense in context. He really, really needs to be cautious when he says these things because the other side is in full attack mode already.

I agree...my only problem is that if Hillary said "A typical Black man"...where would that have ended up.....

I try to ignore all this about the Rev because it is from the Rev words..but I keep coming back to Obama and Michelle and the 2 kids sitting there listening to him....not to mention that he has been going there for 20 years..that info keeps pulling me back to a big question mark...WHY?????

I was not able to get much news in only a little at a time due to such a rigorous schedule on my trip but I did see Hillary supporters on the streets and asked them if any new news...

I was in a bathroom line in Philly...and you know how women's bathrooms can get with the lines. Well a Obama supporter came in and was signing up none registered voters....she was going on and on about Obama and I just listened and a woman asked her to tell her about what she liked about Obama and she said he is sooo inspirational and so on and the other woman said well tell me some things that you feel that he can change...

the woman replied he can change bringing home the troops and no other candidate wants to do that...Hillary and McCain want to stay in for ever...well I had to say something about that would you not have ;)

so I said Hillary wants to pull out also and i went on to explain her plans and the woman told me that I was wrong:confused3 She insisted that McCain and Hillary want to stay in for 100 years....I told her that I am a Hillary supporter and that what she was saying was incorrect...her remark back was....

Well no wonder you would say that....I guess not only is Hillary lying to get votes so are her supporters :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I could not believe she said that to me....well another woman backed me and the OS turned around and left the ladies room....I think we hurt her feelings :lmao:

I really feel like I am no longer a part of the Democratic Party. After all the years of money and time that I have put in - I think I am done. Seriously - I think I will be heading to the elections office to change my affiliation on Monday.

You cannot know how seriously pushed out I feel over the whole FL vote thing. I would be surprised (but not shocked) if a Republican said it was ok. But the idea that my fellow democrats (who seem to be mostly Obama supporters) are so completely ok with the idea that my vote won't count has me devastated. Yes - devastated. I guess the hope/change thing happens after he gets the nom.

You need to remember that they stand by there man just as we stand by our woman.

But I do so agree with you that it is sad. It is your right as Americans to have our votes count after all it is the Democratic way is it not....I would be so mad if my vote was taken away from me. I blame the DNC for being such butt heads and the nominees that went along with it withour a huff and a puff.

I understand how you must feel. I just wish you'd hang in there just a little bit longer. Who knows what will happen?

I am not by ANY means a emotional guy AT ALL. More of a Sarcastic Irish Catholic New Yawker (unless you read my tag ;) )....But when I saw the Vietnam Memorial I was obliterated! It literally just twisted my soul:sad1:

This is what I don't understand at all. Obama doesn't want revotes in Michigan and FL, he does NOT want the vote of fellow democrats in those states to count, and yet people support him. It is really sad when a candidate for office thinks American votes should not be counted. :sad2: And even sadder when the DNC agrees.

I agree wholeheartedly with you! I don't care if the Florida government officials changed the law and that law went against the Democratic Party rules. Your right as a voter WAY supercedes any rules IMO and I don't care what it takes, Floridians and people from Michigan (I don't know what they're called) have the right to be part of the process.

I'm sick and tired of the whining about party rules. OK, the rules were broken. Now, fix the mess.

I really want to hear or read more about this whole "they signed a paper" thing.....It has been all very very vauge on precisely what the wording was, how it came about, what did everybody really agree too... etc.

What is even more peculiar was that the DNC DID submit ALL the candidates names for the FLORIDA ballot. Somebody from the Democrat party gave the Printer all the names to put on the Paper ballots & Voting Machines. Somebody got the names from the DNC to computer program all the electronic voting machines!

As always, with me...its not what they tell you....IT's WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU, that concerns me.

Their are Rules....and there are LAWS!!!!

Rules are NOT Laws!

BTW the "rule" to disqualify the votes wasn't made by the DNC until AFTER FL & MI said they were changing their primaries!:rolleyes1

Most of the Obama supporters feel this way - because they desperately want to win the nom - a good number of them are CONVINCED he is the only solution to the country's ills. They don't seem to see that they are actually one of the causes of the party splitting..... Its all transfered to the "evil" Hillary. She can't nod her head without an ulterior motive. And we're (the Hillary supporters) are being thrown to the curb (kind of like an "agree with us or else your opinion holds no weight" mentality).

Its a shame - I never thought I'd see the party like this..... its becoming - dare I say it - whispering ....... like the republicans! ugh :headache:

I really feel like this could create a permanent rift in the party - maybe even lead the way to the formation of another party. You know - kinda like how we all left the liberal thread?

Its even more sad that my head hurts from banging my head against the wall.:headache: When so many democrats see nothing wrong with this!:scared1:

On this FL/MI issue we have to be AMERICANS first, Democrats second.

Yeah - I have posted two separate posts on the Richardson thread but have gotten no response. I particularly liked the one that compared me and my fellow Floridians/Michiganders to toddlers throwing a temper tantrum.

Nice.
