This was a bad bill. A Dem was on Npr yesterday saying it was a bad bill and his whip never even asked him to vote for it. Jesse J Jr. was on the radio saying it was a bad bill. He voted no and said Obama didn't support it. 12 Dem members of Frank's own committe didn't vote for it. There are vids on YouTube of Dems complaining how undemocratic the whole bill was. A few insiders in closed door meetings instead of in the open for debate.

The leadership of both parties where pushing this bill hard, yet neither wanted it to pass without the other and neither seemed to want to push any harder than the bare min so their members weren't exposed to the voters wrath in Nov. At what point do ANY of these people do what's best for the country?

My point was that a bunch of Republicans said they were going to vote for it and then didn't, blaming it on that meanie Pelosi. The bill would not have been brought up for a vote yesterday if they didn't think they had to the votes in the House to pass it. If those Republicans hadn't said "yes" to begin with then maybe the bill would still be in the process of being worked on and we wouldn't have had the bottom fall out of the stock market yesterday.

This was political from the start. You don't call a vote unless you are sure of the outcome. A reporter yesterday stated the Reps never had 70 votes and that was the magic number.

Just a guesselosi called a vote she knew was going to lose to make the reps look bad then the reps turned around and said she was the reason it failed even though it was never going to pass.

They were talking about how they were locked out of the discussion. There were closed door meetings that only the Washington elite and bankers and people from the WH were allowed into. Even the meeting with Bush/Obama/McCain was secret and almost off the record. This should have all been done out in the open with debates and open discussions about our options. That is how our Government is supposed to work. I think this, more than anything, is why this thing failed. They told 3/4 of the members that they were not really a part of the process.

I saw a YouTube of one Dem female on the floor complaining that this is the Washington insiders bailing out the Wall street insiders.

Robin there were 98 DEMS that voted against it the DEMS could have passed it on there own if they wanted to. 12 out of 35 of Pelosis own head cabinet members voted against it.....that is not just the republicans.

It was not just the Republicans...and it was not just Pelosis mouth.....it was because to many are not in agreement with it...and again there were a lot of DEMs not in favor of the vote either.

so what say you about that fact

So it does not matter that 98 DEMS voted against it....they only needed 11 more votes...so why did not 11 of those 98 DEMS just step upafter that happened and sign the bill....

Sorry but being just the REP fault will not fly with me. It is all the boneheads Rep and Dem's that are at fault....and also the DEMS have had the majority the last 2 years and could have done something to get this fixed...scream if they had to.

As a DEM I am very disappointed in the DEMS that I thought as a DEM had our backs...I was wrong. After this election I will register as an Independent.

If the flip-flop "no" votes had been counted in advance then the vote would have been delayed. And while Wall Street would have been nervous if the vote was delayed again, I'm pretty sure the Dow Jones wouldn't have gone down over 750 points!

This is the second time someone has said this. For the record, I am an atheist so religious holidays mean nothing to me. HOWEVER, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are the most important of all Jewish Holidays (tons bigger than Hanukkah, for instance) and if we are to celebrate Christmas then I see no reason to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. You wouldn't think about telling Christian lawmakers to stay home on Christmas while the non-Christian lawmakers takle important legislation while the are home with their families.

But the Christian Congress took off too!

Besides...Plenty of people, regardless of faith have to work on their holidays, Why not the Congress? Heck even I had to work Christmas (night) when I worked for a Bank. If it fell during the week...TOO BAD!

As a Hillary supporter myself, I just want to say it is NOT a vote for Palin...it is a vote for McCain. McCain is still at the top of the ticket, right? Sure I wish Palin wasn't on the ticket and wish it was someone like Lieberman or someone like that, but we don't always get what we wish for, do we?

Like it or not, McCain or Obama WILL be our next President. We have to make a choice. Truthfully I am not happy with either one, I wish we could do a "do over" but McCain and Obama we are stuck with. So when it came to decision time McCain won hands down to Obama.

I live with myself very well in knowing I will be voting for McCain in November. Not voting or writing in is NOT an option for me. This election is too important. McCain will be a better President then Obama. I will do my part in making sure McCain is elected President and yes this Hillary supporter will drive to the polls in November and vote for McCain and go to bed that night knowing I made the right chioce in my opinion.

Part of it is "Setup" If McCain wins, that makes it easier for Hillary to run in 2012!

I said I was voting for McCain before Palin. I dont agree with either candidate 100%. But I do think McCain is better suited to be President, than Obama. I think we need more stability in this country, rather than change. Also, in regards to issues.....
My three main issues are
"Health Care" is just DEAD! Obamas plan is just silly, an McCains is not much better.
"Ending the War" - Gonna happen anyway. Iraq wants us OUT, regardless of who is President.
"The Economy", I think we have a better shot with McCain. I do agree its not the taxes, BUT what they do with the taxes. Face it GOVERNMENT SPENDING IS OUT OF CONTROL.

The whole Supreme Court thing...is Presidential Politics. It is the Senate who decides who gets into the Supreme Court.

Basically once the DEM's decided that it was perfectly OK not to count all votes (i dont subscribe to the "because its the rules" crapolla), they totally blew it for me. That is the Most SCARIEST, horrendus thing any political party can do.
