Hilde (Trading Spaces) is spray painting furniture again!!

Saw the end result on the room - it was cool! ('s'gotta be a first- the fact that I liked a room Hilde decorated!)

Not telling whether the homeowners felt the same way, though ;)

I don't think that the homeowner was thrilled. Nor would I be. I thought that the room would have been cute for a family room - but not for a living room.
Vern's room was very nice - as usual. :) It was great to see how happy the owners were with THAT room. :)

I would've choked Hilde if she nailed records to MY wall! That was soooo tacky and cheap! Especially for a living room! Maybe for an entertainment room with a pool table in it and a jukebox or something. Yuck!

Vern's room was ok. I'm not big into those colors, but my dh really, really liked it.

I love records, but not on the wall. DW and I both thought the other room looked fantastic. The record room looked like something you could do in the basement(not my basement though).

And the chair was her Grandmother's to boot!
I, too, thought the room would have been great as an entertainment room - but NOT as a living room. I suspect the homeowner redid it as fast as possible!

What did everyone think of the 50's Diner on While You Were Out? It was really nice - but since it was there den - the dinette set would be uncomfortable to me to sit and watch TV. It really complimented the room and theme, though.

Hilde painted the chair after the homeowner said "just don't" paint the chair. She just does everything opposite what the homeowner wants. She is a disaster! She destroys rooms. A decorator is supposed to listen to what the homeowner wants.

I thought the room on While You Were Out was so cute. They really did a nice job.

Hilde is a wreck! An absolute wreck. I think she has done about 3 rooms that I've actually liked. Like others have said I thought the room last night would have been fun for a game room but not for someone's living room!

Now Vern's room on the other hand. I wanted to have that room so bad I could hardly stand it. To say I loved it is a true understatement.

While You Were Out- Thought that room was great! So cute because it wasn't the people's LIVING ROOM, it was their den. Take some notes there, Hilde.

Just the fact that Hilde thinks she is 'all that' cracks me up. She truly believes she is talented and they should bow down to her wonderful taste. She's a joke, I can't believe she has the audacity to call herself a decorator.

aahmom, technically, Hildi's education and background is in financial planning. She has no interior design training at all.

I loved Vern's room. I'm not a big wallpaper fan, but that looked beautiful! Hildi's room, as usual, I didn't care for. Some elements were nice, such as the table with the scarf, but spray painting a chair is a horrible idea. Can you imagine how stiff and scratchy it would feel to sit on. Also, I'm pretty sure that the paint would eventually start cracking. I think 'Hildisaster' only thinks of ideas for the moment and not for the long term.

You're kidding??!! Why in the hell is she on the show then? As for the chair, God forbid it gets wet.

I really don't know how she happened to get on the show. According to the TS website, only Laurie is a true interior designer. Vern is an architect, Frank owns a craft store with his wife called Mosey'n Me, Kia and Doug were set designers, Edward used to do the sewing for TS and Genevieve is a graphic designer. I'd love to know how they were all selected for the show.

Hilde is a terrible designer. I have never liked her work. Anyone that would put their face on the wall of a total strange is way too full of themself. ya know I tune in just to see what kind of things she will come up with and think she is so brilliant.

I thought I saw the old sofa fabric through the new ORANGE slipcover! Didn't watch the whole episode - I'll try to catch it this week (I think they repeat the Saturday episode on Wednesdays?)

I was thinking a lot of these same things last night - who the heck would want to sit on spray painted furniture, what horrible color combinations for a living room, the lines from the couch showed through the new slipcovers, etc. I liked the albums on the wall, but in a game room not in a living room. I would love to participate, but I would be worried because you don't get to pick who does the room.

Hilde's room was awful!!! To say the least.
How exactly does one sit on furniture that has been spray painted??
Yuck!!! I never like Hilde's rooms....NEVER!!!!

Vern as usual did a fine job.:D

Why does Hilde always go in the reverse direction that the homeowner wants??

And on While You Were Out......what was with the black contact paper on the tile??? What they did to that counter top, pouring that clear material over the objects, was cool!

From a guys point of view and someone who works in the building and remodeling trade I like Hildes rooms. I admit she is a little out there but for the most part they work for me. Also they are only working with a small budget and it doesnt go far when you are trying to remodel a room. My beef is with the "carpenters" on the show. Most pieces they produce are very rough and if you really look at them you can see it, so seeing an old couch thru the fabic is no big deal.

I hated Hilde’s room too (for a living room). I’ve gotten to the point where I watch everything but the reveals because I can’t stand to see the disappointment in people’s faces. It just drives me crazy when they do exactly what the owner doesn’t want. I guess the reality is that the show is not about pleasing people, it’s about getting ratings. I really did like Vern’s room. I’m in the process of redecorating my bedroom and now I’m going to see if I can find some wallpaper like that.
