Hilary Clinton.

I am not a Hillary fan, but I think Obama is worse. If someone wants to vote for him because they understand him and his positions, know what he plans to do, know what he stands for, and know how his background and accomplsihments will shape his future, than all the power to them. Go and vote for him. But plenty of people vote for him because
A. they think he's going to win (the whole concept of momentum defies democracy. all the primaries should be on ONE day so that people's votes are independant. also, the people who live in late states might actually have a say...)
B. he's "inspirational" and like Kennedy--NO HE IS NOT. Kennedy inspired people to public service. Obama does not do this, and the comparison is wrong. His "inspriation" comes out of a whole bunch of gripiness. He's inspiring people to vote for him by telling them there will be change.
C. The "change message." Monosyllabic applause lines about hope and change are all very nice, but he isn't genuine. He presents himself as a savior. When he becoems president, everyone's problems will go away. People ARE delusional if they think that voting him prez will solve all their problems. everything that ALL of these cadidates say has to go through congress first..so shame on you, Barack Obama, for giving plenty of people false hope. maybe you will solve some of their problems, but stop acting like a god!
D. he's a washington outsider...please. this man launched his campaign after about ONE YEAR in the senate. but if you read his book, you'll find something that reads like some wort of elaborate memoir of his complete understanding of the senate and america..

IMO, these are not reasosn to pick him
all of the candidates leave a lot to be desired. I could say plenty of bad things about Hillary (have you seen the "body count" website?) but Obama came to mind, and I think we will have more of a problem with him. He is ultra liberal...and I don't think people realize this

By the way, when asked to list his legislative accomplishments,
1. His surrogate was speechless
2. a focus group answered: 'being a senator," "voting," and "pass."

it's not that there are no accomplishments. it's that people support him without knowing what they are.

I'd vote for Obama. He's a melting pot in and of himself, he's exactly what America stands for. I'm not so fond of a few of his views, but that's not stopping me from supporting him. We need something fresh and too get out of this awful bushclintonbushclintonbushclinton thing we have going on. No, I don't think he's going to solve all of our problems, I don't think he'll come even close. No, I don't think he'll make the earth one big happy family. I'm not stupid.

Btw, I am sickened about those awful rumors going around about him. NO he's not muslim, NO he's not a terrorist, YES he says the pledge of alleigence. People are so ignorant sometimes.

There's no candidate I agree with 100%. Because the perfect president, wouldn't be a politician.

One more thing, Huckabee has got to be demented and I'll celebrate the day he drops out of the race. :goodvibes

Huckabee is a nice guy, but his politics are frightening. He was hilarious on SNL Saturday.

I'm an Obama supporter. I'd rather have Hillary than McCain, but McCain is tolerable. I'm a democrat, and at our age (not trying to stereotype but true in my area) most Republicans are only Republicans because their parents are or because of rumors about Obama. I might have said some not nice words on the bus today when everyone was all "Obama's a muslim, only one letter away from Osama, He's a terrorist, blah, blah, blah." It's idiotic and they are BRAINWASHED bible-shoving cretins.

Rant over :]

I don't like either Hilary or Barak Obama. If I could vote, I don't really know who I would vote for, cause I really don't like McCain either. I do like Huckabee though.

Huckabee is the one that scares me most!

But thankfully he stands no chance of winning.

ETA: I like John McCain and I especially like that he seems to care about the environment (my thing) unlike a lot of Republicans.

I consider myself fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

If I could vote (which I will be a month shy of by election time...), Clinton would have my vote. I don't increadibly dislike Obama but he would not be my first choice.

I am voting for Hillary in the primary next Tuesday. I have a feeling Obama is going to get the nomination though.

Yeah, she sickens me.

The debate was so stupid last week.

All she wanted to do was say her little 'xerox' line. It's like she was waiting the entire debate to say it.

She's so pathetic.

I loved it, because I was watching Meet the Press, and they showed all the lines that she took, from her husband, and all other politcal names.

Oh there is no question in my mind that Obama will take it. Clinton supporters are a dwindling breed - it's good to see another one - especially one who is going out and doing something about it.

She makes me want to gauge my eyes out and take a drill to my ears so I don't have to listen to her anymore.

That's kinda just politics. Oh, and work.
Backstabbing and lying pretty much sums up corporate america.

Yes, I'm pretty positive he will get it haha. That belief was only reaffirmed when Obama came to my college yesterday and 10,000 people showed up. Hillary was at another local college on Saturday and I think about 1,500 people showed up...the difference in numbers are huge. But, right now I think she would make a better president so I am voting based on that. That's just me though. :goodvibes

And that's exactly how it should be. :thumbsup2

Huckabee puts on a front, he's not a sweet and funny as he appears on TV.

Oh and the people who believe all that crap about Obama are just sad and petty.

People, Obama's name is NOT Osama. His name will not affect his ability to be president in the least. He is not Osama! He is not a muslim!

I think that Huckabee would be fun as the pastor at the church down the street. He was nice on SNL Saturday, and while in a million years I wouldn't vote for him because he'd try to choke the constitution with a bible.

I'm a liberal. I'm pro-choice, have no qualms about gay marriage, and am for gun control. I care about the environment, and I don't believe religion has a place in government.

And thank you for the Obama is not Osama thing. A name means nothing in reality, though imagine what sort of difference it would make in the middle east to have Barack Hussein Obama, instead of the same rich little white boy. While it may not make a difference with the leaders themselves, it helps his popularity with the citizens.

And he is not Muslim. Get the facts straight, people.

And even if he was, what does it matter? A couple of wackos that happened to be Muslim attacked us on 9/11. Christians have their demons, too.

To quote the West Wing, "Islamic extremist is to Islamic as KKK is to Christianity.

A couple of people interpret the bible, Quran, Torah, whatever their holy book is to the highest extreme and think anyone who isn't with them is against them do not make the entire group twisted.

There are lies floating in the political world. Don't believe them just as a reason not to support that person, because there is a very good chance it's wrong. These rumors happen! When the NY Times article came out about John McCain's alleged affair, did everyone say "Oh no, I can't vote for him now."? No, people ignored it. It should be the same with Obama, but people have double standards and will believe what they want to believe.

Because sadly, there's still a lot of ignorant racist people out there. :sad2:

Oh and exactly, just because your muslim doesn't mean you are an extremist. But no big deal, because he's NOT one. Heh.

Every religion has evil people. Look at the Westboro Baptist Church. Sickining what they do, yet they don't take the heat that Muslims take.

I think the Muslim rumors with Barack started because his father was Muslim and he went to a Muslim school for a while in his youth.

Actually, his stepfather was an Indonesian Muslim. His father was Kenyan and a Christian. He never actually attended Muslim school (that I know of for real), and that's just another of the rumors floating around until I can confirm or deny it (to me, if you have actually proof other than some right-wing babblehead off fox news, feel free to believe it).

I keep hearing so many different things from people (who support Barack) at school and everywhere. Just confusion.

Hilary was at our school not too long ago, and the crowd wasn't huge.

Really though, whoever is in office this next term is going to be bashed. Someone isn't going to be happy.
