Hilary Clinton.

Actually, his stepfather was an Indonesian Muslim. His father was Kenyan and a Christian. He never actually attended Muslim school (that I know of for real), and that's just another of the rumors floating around until I can confirm or deny it (to me, if you have actually proof other than some right-wing babblehead off fox news, feel free to believe it).
He did actually attend a muslim school (and catholic school) in jakarta when he was really young. :)

Oh god! :rotfl: I just checked my mail, Hillary sent me a car bumper sticker.

It now has a new home...the trash can. :teeth:

O how funny lol my parents dragged to the Republican cacuse and one lady in our district was just there because of all the phone calls and junk mail that she had been getting from Clinton and she was like just becasue my last name may be Clinton doesnt mean i'm a democrat lol

The fact that people are actually holding that picture against him, is absolutely ridiculous.
Politics is a dirty business, but honestly, leave the smear campaigns behind.

I like Obama, but anything is better than Bush. I don't like McCain though, he scares me a little. He thinks war is necessary and won't pull out the troops from Iraq for a loooong time. :sad2:

I'm assuming you mean the picture of him not standing for the pledge or whatever. I'm not 100% positive of that, though as I ignored it.

I know a lot of people who don't stand for the pledge. I don't because it's not my religion and I would prefer to not pleged alligience to a country under God.

It's silly when people get bashed for not standing or saluting. We're supposed to be a nation with freedom of religion and yet, we aren't allowed to express our religious beliefs by not standing for a pledge that involves us saying we believe in a nation under God when we don't believe that.

Not that one. The one of him in Kenya, wearing traditional clothing.
People thought it was a turban.

They showed the picture on the news and talked about it on the radio new minute.
I was trying to figure out why the heck it mattered, that he was dressed in traditional clothing.
Honestly.
Good lord.

I thought he looked more like he was auditioning for the role of a toy soldier in a Babes in Toyland production than a muslim man as they don't usually wear bright colors....and I must add that some Hindus (I'm pretty sure, at least) also wear turbans- and they're not Muslim either! I hate that people stereotype a religion based on a simple garment.

And besides.
Even if he was a muslim, it doesn't make him a terrorist.

That it doesn't. There's a senator/representative (not 100% on which) in office right now that is muslim. When they swore in all the other people, they used a bible and he requested to use a Qu'ran and there was a huge fuss about it and how people thought that it wasn't "American" and that our "founding fathers wouldn't have wanted this". So this guy goes to Thomas Jefferson's house/memorial house/whatever and finds good old TJ's copy of the Qu'ran and they used that to swear him in. TJ wasn't muslim, but he was tolerant enough to have at least read their side of the story.

There was a picture of him standing with the other candidates. They had their hand on their hearts and Obama didn't. So they said they were reciting the Pledge of Alleigance and he didn't have his hand on his heart (somehow equaling he was unamerican.) But in reality they were singing the national anthem, and a lot of people don't put their hand on their heart for that.

haha the backstabbing qoutes and such are what keeps me awake!!! :rotfl:

But it would make him a liar because he has denied being Muslim. I had a strange dream where he was the nominee and a month before the GE it was discovered that the whole "born in Hawaii" thing was a sham and that he was really born in Indonesia. And in the dream Hillary got REALLY mad and started beating up Obama..

anyway
I think the media loves Obama too much..to the extent that they are not fair at all. Hillary was RIGHT at the debatw when she pointed to SNL and how she answers first. They make it as easy for him as possible.
Remember the Q about not doing his job on his subcommittee or something? He said that he began to hair it at the start of his campaign, implying that he didn't have a whole lot of time. Not ONE followup about not doing his job while capaigning, the fact that he was ont he Senate for ONE YEAR before launching his bid for prez...
I could go on

But it would make him a liar because he has denied being Muslim.

She was probably talking about is he was Muslim in the first place, as in, he's always been muslim and never denied it.

Humans are ignorant and associate Muslims with terrorists. Which is pathetic.

About the debate...if you are against a politician you will always find things that you don't like about him, even if they're little or non-existant.
