Has anyone ever done the Highway in the Sky Dine Around? We are going in June 2021 and if the USA is back to normal my wife and I would like to try it.

We did it way back when it first started. I believe they have changed it since then. Basically ours was appetizer and drink at the wave at CR, on the monorail to Poly for 3 small dishes and a drink at stand up tables outside Taboo Lounge. On the monrail to GF for sit down meal at Citricos - meal included one or two (can't remember) glasses of wine, assigned seats. Then down to the tearoom at GF for cheese tray and champagne. (I believe they no longer do that). Then back on the monorail to CR on the roof for desserts, coffee and more alcohol to watch the FWs. We were given a little gift bag when we left with chocolates. We skipped most of the dessert part and left before the FWs were over, I'm not a fan of watching them from there and by that time I was full and had had more than enough alcohol. I had a cup of coffee, my son a cup of coffe with a splash of Baileys and we left when we finished that. Neither of us ate any desserts because we were full. The course at the CR at the beginning was a small cup of soup. Here is from Poly forward. The 3 dishes at Poly were two fish things (can't remember because my son ate them, I don't like fish). 533083

I’ve done this twice and have had enjoyable times each time. I haven’t done it recently but I am not impressed with the changes. I wouldn’t do it unless you are interested in consuming the several alcoholic beverages included. I had a group of family members for my mom’s 50th bday and we had a great time! We started at the wave for a drink and cup of soup. 2nd the poly for a mai tai and 3 small apps. Then to the grand for dinner which was short ribs/fish with one glass of wine. Then to the tea room for a cheese plate and champagne. Finally was contemporary 4th floor for cordials and desserts and fireworks. There are no drink refills. The price keeps going up so that’s something to keep an eye on. But if you want an evening that is planned for you with lots of drink, go for it!

I'm the author of that thread, but will reply here to answer OP's question. It largely depends on whether you're looking to add some variety to your WDW trip. We chose to do it because we had visited WDW two consecutive years, and wanted to try something a bit different. There were a lot of "Disney veterans" in our group ... I wouldn't doubt if most of them have accounts here on DisBoards ... so it was nice to be able to mingle, discuss WDW rumors, etc. and have a few drinks while being escorted to all of the resorts.

If you don't enjoy mingling with strangers, it probably isn't for you. If your primary focus is on food, you're probably better off just making a reservation at California Grill, etc.

It was worth it for us, and was a highlight of our trip. Hopefully that helps! :earsboy:
