I don't think I can write a trip report so I will just make some comments about our stay here and there.
We stayed at the HRH for 5 nights 7/17 - 7/21 we had connecting rooms (we are a family of 6).
I was told NO welcoming gift because we didn't book at rack rate and no upgrades. When I got to our rooms we were across the hall from where we were last year and this year it was a pool view. Some palm tree obstruction but I was thrilled. At night we could see the fireworks from our rooms. That worked out great since my DD8 doesn't like any loud noises.
I did notice they add on gratuity at the Beach Club and in the restaurants. So, a not so great drink will cost almost $10.00. I went to buy those light up ice cubes that the kids liked throwing around in the pool at night ($4.00) each and got charged a .60 tip to buy it.
We ate once at The Kitchen using our (2) $50.00 GC for lunch when we arrived. I had no problem using both of them at the same time. The food was not so good and expensive so we didn't eat lunch/dinner there again. We did have the buffet breakfast which we enjoyed.
DON'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO DO LAUNDRY!!!!!!!!!!!! What a joke. My DH squeezed in there one afternood by luck to do a load. He said women almost fought over the washer and dryer. On the 4th floor they didn't even have a table to fold. No chair either but the TV was working. $1.75 to wash and $1.75 to dry. More laundry needed to be done and DH said NO WAY, you do it. My DD21 and I would run from floor 4 to floor 2 trying to figure out the timing of the washers and dryers to do laundry. We missed it by minutes and ended up doing laundry on the 2nd floor. There was a table to fold, no chair and the TV didn't work. I finished laundry at 3:00 am!!!! Even at midnight people are doing laundry. Because my DS14 didn't put his dirty clothes where he was told he ran out from the last time laundry was done. My DH thought maybe we would have some clothes washed for us. He figured it would cost about $75.00 so I stayed up until 3 am doing the laundry instead that day. They want $2.50 for a pair of socks. I bet they would tack on gratuity with that as well. So be warned about the laundry situation.
The kids enjoyed the pool. I jumped in once, got cold, got out and never went in again. 2 nights the music wasn't working at the pool.
Other than the laundry experience and no milk and cookies our experience at the HRH was wonderful and I would recommend it and go again. Find another place to eat dinner other than The Kitchen.
