Hi all
I always enjoy reading other people's highs and lows so thought I'd share ours from our mini trip at the weekend. We drove over Friday night, spent Saturday in the 2 parks, and then yesterday we had breakfast/ did some shopping in the Village, and then headed back in the afternoon.
Highs
Renewing our annual passes big yay on it's own! Just need to decide when to go again!
Amount of people in shops and restaurants even though the rides were very busy, the shops and restaurants/cafes weren't too bad - never had any trouble getting seated and the shops weren't rammed or people pushing like we have had in the past - we might have just been very lucky with our timing!
Weather we were really lucky with the weather - it was very grey all day but it wasn't cold at all. We had a bit of rain in the evening about 8pm but was only a little bit of drizzle and didn't spoil anything
Shareholders Card we saved so much money, starting with discounts on annual passes, gift shop purchases, and our meals. Made it's money back already so well worth it.
The Castle looking fabulous after it's refurb! It definitely is the prettiest of all the Disney Castles. Very exciting to see the fountains around the outside and things getting ready for Dreams!
Phantom Manor being able to see the Groom and Phantom in the Stretching Room was amazing! So glad they cleaned it!
Big Thunder Mountain a tradition of ours is to ride it in the dark - it was amazing and I think I screamed all the way haha!
Lows
Ride closures only 2 things were scheduled to be closed on saturday but a lot of rides were breaking down (Space Mountain when we were in the queue, Crush's Coaster, POTC to name a few) - we got to ride POTC towards the end of the night, but Space Mountain didn't re-open and I'm not sure if Crush's Coaster did or not as we had left Studios Park by then
Queues I know we went at the weekend so this wasn't unexpected, but it seemed to be a bit worse than normal as a lot of the rides were closed, this mean looong queues for the rest of the ones that were open - most were topping 90 mins.
All in all, it was a great lil trip and can't wait to go back in a few months to see the 20th anniversary
