Ok so this was our first trip to DLP and having previously been to WDW I promised myself I wouldnt compare the two, oops.
Anyway
Highs.
Hotel Santa Fe, not what I expected from some of the bad reviews. Yes it is cheap and cheerful (cheap in Disney terms), but it does the job. Our room was furthest away from the reception but closest to the bridge that takes you over to Disney Village, bonus.
Weather was great the whole time, no rain thank god.
Anettes Dinner and Billy Bobs both had great food. Queues for Anettes were out of the door most nights.
Disney Dreams was fantastic, managed to get stood just to the left of the castle. However I didn't realise that the time we were stood there meant we were going to see Fantillusion first so was some distance from the floats but still got to see some things.
Tarzan was also fantastic, well worth the wait.
Fast pass, what a god send.
Lows
Watching pickpockets at work, lowest of low.
Queue jumping, quite a lot went on. Mainly noticed one person in queue and a group would turn up and push in to join them.
Smoking, didn't notice any in queues but plenty around the park as they walked, had to keep an eye on the little one to make sure he didn't get caught by a stray hand with a *** in it.
Queue blocking in Fastpass lanes. People were turning up before their allotted time and blocking the entrance, this gave the impression that this was the Fastpass queue so people with the correct time were held back.
Food prices are out of this world, nearly €100 for a dinner for two adults and two kids.
Not the same magic feeling we got from WDW. We both agreed it was down to the CM's, they just don't seem to be bothered.
We did enjoy it but I'm glad I got the 50% off deal as I don't think it would have been worth the extra. Maybe going out of season would be better.
