I know a lot of us have had our share of ups and downs this past year, but thought it would be nice to end the year on the happier moments of the past 12 months, so what has been your top highlights of the year?

I will start-

Finding out my Daughter Vicki had secured a place in the Uni of her choice comes top.:thumbsup2

Other highlights were - Seeing Placebo live in Birmingham, having my first tattoo at the age of 47 and reaching a 30 year milestone of working for the same company.:goodvibes:goodvibes

Who's next........

That's nice Sue.

For me finding out that my sister was getting married and expecting her first baby on 10th January 2010. Both had been long wished for.

I'll go next.....

On the family front we finally managed to get the docs to agree to taking eldest DD's tonsils out. They're not too keen on doing it anymore and although we had to have it done privately it was worth every penny for the change in the girl :goodvibes
My MIL was seriously ill with Breast Cancer this time last year and spent christmas in hospital, it's been fantastic to see her recovery and see her enjoy christmas this year and the return of the "Nanny" that we love.

We've also had lovely family holidays, including DLRP for the Christmas season.

On a lighter social note, I have made some really lovely friends this year, at home and on here:goodvibes I have been fortunate enough to go to the Strictly tour and this years christmas special as well as the parties after, but the entertainment highlight of the year has to be the Take That concert at Wembley Stadium on a hot day in July :goodvibes

mine and DDs trip to Disneyland Paris in January. My graduation in July and getting accepted on to my Post Graduate course.

Some nice highlights so far:goodvibes

For me it was seeing my daughter pass her driving test and her face when she picked up her car.

My friend of over 20 years having her first child after many years of trying and then a few months later finding out she was pregnant again. Second child born just before Christmas.

My DH climbing another rung in the corporate ladder and good luck to him starting his new job on 2nd January. I am finally on board with our move and getting a wee bit excited about it.

I've got a couple I could mention, so I'll just mention a couple...

So - for me, firstly I think it has to be the completion of my MSc in Human Computer Interaction. It took me 2 years to complete and cost me £6,000 in fees (not to mention a lot of spare time of sanity) but I eventually completed it with straight A's and a distinction.

secondly - my trip to Disneyland and the opportunity to interact with the Beluga Whales at Sea World. I love marine and water life in general - I keep 2 fish tanks at home including 1 marine, so to be able to interact with them like I did at Sea World was such an amazing experience.

Finally making it to Magic Mountain was a highlight as well because I love my roller coasters, but the Beluga Whales really stand out from that trip.

Lovely idea for a thread :goodvibes

I have a couple too, which are:

My best friend's wedding in May, I was chief bridesmaid and loved every second of the day, my friend looked stunning and everything went along perfectly.

My brother's graduation. When he was younger, at High School, my parents were told he'd never amount to anything (as he's had learning difficulties), so to see him graduate with a 2:2 in Computer Science & Networking was one of the proudest moments of my life so far :goodvibes

i have a few too //

first ds was born on the 2 jan
then we went to florida and got married and the best one was having my brother travel from Auz for our wedding ...

My highlight was our trip to wdw in october with the Alcocks, it was a brilliant holiday made so much better that we got to share it with friends

On the home front i had a great OFSTED report this year and was also pleased that dh kept his job and got promoted in the GAP re-shuffle
:)

Definitely our trip to WDW in the summer. (Our first for 4 years) A little sad too as we were celebrating DS leaving school (why didn't I say that at check in?).

I've got a few highlights from this year:

3. Meeting Michelle (Snowy-girls) and her family for lunch at T-Rex.

2. Riding a Segway 'around the world' at EPCOT.

1. Seeing a wild bear strolling past our cabin in the Smoky Mountains.

i agree, what a lovely idea for thread:goodvibes ill add my 2p sworth!
1. Still being alive. nearly died over the summer from a massive infection of gall bladder then had to have emergency surgery to have it removed 2 days before my family flew off to Eygpt wihout me. one plus of this has been dh "allowing" me to book a 3 week stay in WDW next year.;)
2. Dh being offered a full time job which he loves. h is a chef by training and he now works in a school (as aLSP) for severly autistic children (our own child has ASD). he loves it!
3. getting promotion at work, im now 2nd in dept, though cant see what all the fuss is about, i still teach the same!
4. eldest ds starting big school, which he loves:goodvibes
5. DD 7 has passed all her ice dance badges and has now to start skating at club level.

First I have to say I asked my dh what the highlight of this year was for us and he stated "THE END!!" :rotfl2:

So my top 3 highlights of 2009 are;

1. The End
2. Landing in Florida
3. Finding Cams star of hope on ceiling at GKTW.

Cant wait for 2010!!:banana::banana::banana:
