Highlands Reserve and TCD Executive villas

Has anybody any experience of this complex?

TCD are going to give us an executive villa here, but if its not any good we would book a villa separately.

Also, has anybody stayed in a TCD executive villa? Is it worth they extra money?

We've stayed in Highlands Reserve a few times, but never with TCD. We use floridavillaoptions. They were much cheaper. The villas were all brilliant. Very new and very big too

Most of TCD villas are situated on highway 27. we personally prefer to stay on the 192 after having stayed on the 27 a few times.

Ive done both, stayed in Highlands Reserve (v.nice and safe area!) Love being on the US27, think access to the 192 and the I4 is so easy that you can really be at most places v,v,quickly.

Also stayed in a TCD executive villa - the villa was spacious, clean and had everything I could possibly want, not sure about the price difference if going seperatly as it was booked for me as a treat (I would usually book one through the owner direct) There is not 1 bad thing I could say about the villa but....we was made to go to TCD office in Orlando the day after we arrived to give our credit card details for if we broke anything etc, this took at least 3 hours of inconvenience on the 1st day of our holiday, just something to bear in mind! HTH

We have stayed at Highlands reserve a few years ago, through Mercury Travel. This year we are also staying at Highlands Reserve but this time we have booked the villa independentley through the owners. When you do it yourself you can find almost exacley what you want.

We stayed on Highlands Reserve in an Executive villa booked through TCD in 2004, the area was lovely and we'd stay there again, BUT I would definately book the villa myself

We always stay at highlands reserve, always book privately, we like the fact it feels residential and not touristy but still ideal location .

We stayed at Highlands Reserve in April and found it an ideal place to stay. It's got a great Publix supermarket and an Appleby's restaurant right next to it and a huge Walmart just a couple of miles up the 27. Took us about 25 mins door to door to any of the parks.

The villa itself was fantastic, backing onto the golf course. Didn't go via TCD but actually got a really good price through Thomas Cook - getting a bigger property, matching what we were getting quoted by going direct to owners.

Tracey - I could get a 4 bedroom pool house here, for £440 for a fortnight after using vouchers from Virgin. What was your stay like?

The villa was great - large, well equipped, backing onto the golf course with a lovely big pool & decking area
Loved being able to walk to Publix/Applebees
Have been reading some not-so-good reports about the Virgin allocated villas though, seems to be a bit hit & miss with the standard

Argh, don't say that, we're booked there next May courtesy of Virgin via Tesco vouchers!

I'm sure it's fine, you only ever hear from the disgruntled on review sites.

Well 16 weeks to go but fairly confident. It seems Regal Palms is a bit more pot luck and Highlands Reserve is generally very nice. When do you go?

We don't go until 21st August. Staying at HR for a week then AKL for a week. 1st time we've stopped in a 'house' so keeping an open mind. Must say everything I've seen looks really great.

Do you know about the 'Sherbeth Road' short-cut into WDW turning off of 192, we've used it when we've stayed on the 192-I'd reccommend it.

Thanks, we stayed over the road a couple of years ago but didn't know about it then so hit the 192 every day which wasn't that bad. Must read up on the shortcut though.
