Day 4 Sunday 23rd March Free time/Soprano Tour/Circus
I was up around 7 as usual, did my trip report and had a few cups of coffee in living area, rest of the family rose a little after 9, today we where meant to be doing Central Park in the morning and brunch at Metro Marche, but we decided to just have a lazy morning, I tried to get the Celtic game on the computer but the buffering was hopeless so we gave up and went downstairs to the café for breakfast, breakfast was okay nothing special but did the job, after breakfast we went for a walk, the weather today was cold but very sunny, we window shopped on 5th Ave, pics taken outside NY public library, and visited Grand Central Terminal, saw a few ladies in their Easter Bonnets, had a rest stop in the Columbian coffee house as Starbucks was too busy, we had to be at our pick up spot for the Soprano tour for 2pm, pick up was at the Button sculpture in the Garment District, DW and DD where mentally planning tomorrows shopping expedition with all this window shopping
Some Pics
We arrived about 1:30 for pick up and tour bus was there, after checking in we had a photo opportunity with Vito of the Sopranos and bought some merchandise, although be warned its a rip off everything was $20 we got two signed pics $20 each and a license plate $20 total cost $60, the license plate you can get for $10 at the gift shops
The tour itself lasts about 4 hours we drive around New Jersey get show locations where they filmed, and get gave info which most Soprano fans would like, the guide was an extra on the show a few times, the highlight of the tour is stopping at the Bad a Bing aka Satin Dolls in real life, a working mens club, it was closed today as it was Easter Sunday but the owner came in to open up for us and he allowed us to take pics of interior as well as it was closed, the inside info is that owner received a call from HBO last week asking him to hold off remodelling the club till after October, fuelling more rumours of an expected Soprano movie or special, Danny was allowed in as well as it was closed whereas if it had been opened he wouldnt be allowed in, more merchandise bought at the club which was cheaper than Vito, if you arent a Soprano fan this tour will bore you to death, but both me and son liked it and the girls put up with it
