____Saturday 22nd March08__________________________________
Cast of Today’s Performance: Ground Zero Museum Workshop, Shopping, Broadway Show (Weather cold but sunny)
Me- Steve (Planner, Provider, Easily Pleased)
DW-Jacquie (Does what she’s told when it suits)
DD-Stephanie (Princesses grow up, be warned)
DS- Danny (Here’s hoping he grows up)

I was up around 7am today, checked email, rest of the family where up around 9am, we had a breakfast of cereal and doughnuts in the room, today we had the Ground Zero Museum workshop booked for 11am, the museum is located in the meatpacking district and was set up by Gary Suson the official photographer for the Uniformed Firefighters Association, he spent eight months as the only full-time all access photographer at Ground Zero during the recovery efforts after 9/11 and after visiting Ann Franks home in Amsterdam he thought of beginning this museum, we got the subway to the meatpacking district and then a 5 min walk to the museum, there was heavy police presence here as it turn out later there is peace rally protesting the Iraq war.

This museum is very good it’s by advance booking only and limited numbers are allowed, it’s set in one room with many many exhibits, we get an explanation of what the museum is and its reason for being, we then watch a video (there are no burning buildings, planes etc), then get a tour of exhibits by our guide, who is a fireman also, we then get our own sets for a personal audio tour and we are left to wander the exhibits, its pretty moving, but I have to say it’s also trying to heal the wounds that happened that day, and in fact many survivor groups use the museum for therapy sessions
Some pics of the exhibits, the clock in the pics was found at the WTC and it was stuck at exactly the time the first plane hit

After shopping we head back to the apartment and get changed for our dinner reservation at Havana Central Times Square, the restaurant is busy and I’m glad I reserved with opentable, DD isn’t impressed with veggie option despite it looking okay to me, and our server is pleasant enough and takes the drink order quickly enough, for our meal we have
3 juices, pitcher of white wine sangria, platter of Cuban Appetizer Sampler chorizo, tostones, maduros, one empanada, mango-pineapple slaw & zesty corn, Plato Campesino Cuban Farmer's Plate artisanal latin cheeses with sweet guava, fresh seasonal fruit and cuban bread, crab cakes (Pastel De Cangrejo Crab Cakes light and flaky crab cakes with mango mayonnaise), Pollo Al Ajillo - Garlic Chicken Breast chicken breast sautéed in garlic and olive oil and finished in sauvignon blanc,Pollo Asado - Herb Roasted Chicken an herb-rubbed plump chicken glazed with mango habanero ginger sauce, grilled cheese sandwich & wedges, Cuban sandwich & wedges, Churros with Dulce de Leche, custard flan , espresso ($146 before tip),

We have a nice meal not rushed and ambience is nice as well, after our meal we head to theatre for the Jersey Boy’s, the show is excellent great music and an amazing story, after the show we head to Rockefeller Centre which is just up from our apartment, we use our tix to travel to the top and there is no queue which is great, the speed we travel up at makes your ears pop as if on a plane taking off, the views from the Rock are amazing and we really enjoy ending our night there
