High Tea at Palo?

At the High tea can you have ice tea? Can you ask for some cookies to go with it?? Would love tea time and some quiet time away from the kids.

There is a "fixed" menu at high tea, which hubby says he will post tonight on our website, so you pretty much choose between the types of hot teas they offer and are then served the set items (scones, eclairs, finger sandwiches, and parfait). But for the iced tea, they woujld probably brew some if you requested it...they would just have to use regular tea bags, since the hot teas at high tea are all brewed with leaves. I do the "hot tea to iced tea" routine in the regular diningrooms all the time, as I don't like the regular iced tea, which is the tap-style...ugh!!

Barb - when you say they have iced tea out of the tap do you mean the powdered kind (like Nestea or Good Host)? That's actually the kind I like and was wondering if I could get that at the High Tea?

It's a fountain brew like you'd find at a soft drink fountain with sodas like Coke, Sprite, etc. The brand is <b><i>probably</i></b> Nestea.

Well, My dh loves the menu and is excited about doing High Tea, but I don't think I like anything on the menu, not even the fouintain Tea, So I was wondering if I could just order a coke and a sandwhich? They Say Disney wants to please us, I wondering if I would be too much trouble? Or should I bring a cookie from room service and drink water??

Maybe bring along a tall cup of ice and make your own iced version. Or if you have a refillable soda mug just bring along some soda to enjoy while hubby is having high tea. You may find that you actually enjoy some of the offerings once there.

There is no charge for High Tea which is only on the 7 day cruises - by advanced reservation only. Since there is not a charge -- you will not have a slip to sign -- and no way to charge any gratuity to your room. You may choose to bring some bills along to have on hand if you wish to leave a tip.

I LOVE high tea. My dh can take it or leave it. Would it be totally weird to take a book and do it solo? Anyone done that before? I have never been good at going into a restaurant on my own!!! I always feel a bit odd.... but for High Tea I'd do about anything!!

wenpop, I'm sure they will try to accomodate you!! You will be right near the fast food outlets on Deck 9, so if worse comes to worse you could run out and grab something.
As for tips, in addition to bringing cash, you could alway bring a phone card for your server.
And as to doing it alone, I wouldn't hesitate for a minute!! Fortunately, hubby loves it as much as I do, but if he didn't I would be there anyway. The servers are friendly and chatty, so you will feel comfortable.

I LOVE high tea but hate the beverage tea (iced, hot or otherwise). Does anyone know if they have coffee available during Palo's high tea? I always pretend to drink my wet leaf brew but this time I'm thinking of asking for an espresso instead.
