High Speed

Hey All,

Just a quick question. Do any of DVC resorts have in room high speed internet?

We are staying at BCV in December and I know there is the convention center, but was looking not to have to travel over there.

I asked that question while I was there a few weeks ago. The CM thought it was being installed in the hotels first. He also thought it will feed through the Disney servers. I think there are wireless hot spots in the lobby of BC and around SAB.

I was at BWV last week and there were teams of subcontractors pulling up the rugs in several vacant units (my 2 yo liked to run up & down the halls). I asked one of the guys what was up and he said they were installing wireless internet access and needed to pull the rugs back to install. So, sounds like it shouldn't be very long, at least at BWV...

BTW, BWV's still didn't have it this week...

Yes, BCV has high-speed internet now, with ethernet connections in each room at a charge of $9.95 per 24-hour period. At least a couple of posters have already mentioned using it, including the OP in this thread: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=472270

$9.95 / day for high speed seems really expensive. I don't understand how Disney thinks they can charge this rate, when many decent hotel chains are now providing free HS access.

I guess they are trying to recoop the cost of wires and investment...

I suppose in a year form now, it will all be free.. lol.. Like we will ever see that...

It is in line with what I have had to pay while traveling on business at other hotels. Yes it high but they all are.
