High School Musical-ticket links,reviews & other information - HSM

except Vanessa, who I got a weird vibe from that I won't elaborate on. Also, she had absolutely NO chemistry with Drew - to the point she seemed to be reacting negatively toward him, while he seemed to be really trying...weird..wonder what is going on there......but then she came back out and did her showcase and really gave it her all...)

When they were singing together she had this really weird look on her face (in the video closeup) It looked like she really did not want to be standing there next to him and she made no eye contact with him. but, in the other songs she was great!

It was exactly as described by others. we had a great time. We had floor seats, but in the 2nd section back. They were very good, although DH had to hold DS for a lot of it so he could see over the heads (and ds is not light!) They were diligent about no one standing on the folding chairs.

I was surprised at how many very young kids were there. DS is 7 and he thought it was loud, but he had a great time. There were a lot of 4-6 yo kids there and a lot of them seemed overwhelmed and scared at the volume and all of the people.

I thought they did a fantastic job with this show though. Great use of the video backdrop. The kids in the show gave their all and seemed to be having a great time. they are all very talented.

We had our own shirt. I bought a glow stick and a backstage pass.

We had dinner in a Southwestern restaurant just outside the arena. The waitress told us that the HSM cast had lunch in that restaurant and some had sat at our table! DS was so excited at that news! LOL!

It was a very exciting event and I'm so glad we went!

Now, on to WDW in 2 weeks!

I took my DD & 2 friends for her combined birthday/Christmas present. We went to the Dec 28th concert in DC and had a good time.
I enjoyed my earplugs.
Thought Ashley Tisdale's outfits were...um....a little...um...too "little".
Drew Seeley did a great job.
Vanessa's voice sounded 'thin', I know they've been working hard, but methinks they do some(or a *lot* of) "sweetening" for her in the recording studio.
I hate Lucas' hats.
More HSM stuff would have been nice.

agnes!

so, you went on Thursday and it was the same thing? She looked uncomfortable and it was kinda uncomforatable to watch.

I agree about lots of little kids, guess I wasn't expecting it.

My DD is not a "screamer", but there was a 6 or 7 year old next to me that just screamed and screamed - it was fun watching how excited she was!

She wouldn't look him in the eye. She looked like she didn't want to be there singing a love song with him!

Drew looks a lot older than she is. Maybe she thinks he is a creepy older guy? Maybe she just misses Zac?

A lot of the HSM cast are older than we think they are. Someone told me that Lucas Grabeel was at least 25 or 26.

The family and I went to the show in Hartford last night. It was a great show! The kids had a good time! We had floor seats, third section from the stage. All in all the cast and the back-up dancers did a great job and delivered an entertaining show.

Below are just a few pics for those who have already gone to the show they will bring back memories and for those who will be going it will be a sneak peak at what you will see...enjoy!

thanks for the photos.

We were in sec 6 in the middle. Sests were good but dh had to lift ds (7) to see when everyone stood.

I looked up HSM on wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_School_Musical

It was interesting to see the range of ages. I think it said that Vanessa is 18 and Drew is 24. I think Monique is the oldest at 26.

Miss Darbus (Alyson Reed) was in the movie Chorus Line and the actress who played Kelsi is Russian!

Yep.. Monique is 26. She looks so much younger.

We are going tonight in WOrcester, MA
I don't know who is more excited me or them!
We have seats in the front row in the first balcony. Does anyone know if you are allowed to go up in front of the balcony? My children are small for their age and i would hate for other children to stand in front of them at the balcony. Do you have to stay in your row?
I am glad that everyone has had a good time so far.

Have a great time! I'm still singing the songs still and it's been two days since the concert :rotfl2:

A friend of mine is NOW trying to get tickets for the Philli show tomorrow night and she's hoping that they will release a block of tickets in the morning like they did at the concert here in New Jersey :scared1:

I took my DD and her friend on the 6th. LOVED IT!!! DD wants to go again but I told her that isn't possible. But since there will be a HSM play touring in the summer I told her we would do that.

I also agree on Ashley's outfits. Her shorts were too short and my mom hated that the girls seemed to wear corsiet (?) type tops.

I can't believe Monique is 26! There goes my thought that her and Corbin had something going on. He's only 17! But I figured she was at least 22/23.

Lori, do you have any information on the HSM play? dates, cities? Thanks!

We just came back from HSM last night in Worcester. It was awesome! DH and I had a great time as well as my two DD's, MY little one was up and dancing. We had plenty of room. We had seats in the first row in the balcony. My DD 6 just sat in her seat with her coat on. She was smiling, but not dancing like my other one. I don't know if she was just in shock to actually see them. To be honest, I am 34 and was start struck to see the kids I see on TV every day. I loved every minute of it, although i couldn't understand why they took a 25 minute intermission break after Jordan Pruitt. There wasn't a set to break down or anything. That was baffling. And also the fact that before the show and during intermission they kept running the same commercials over and over again. Disney has so much entertainment, why use the same thing over and over again? I thought that Corbin Blue was fantastic, his energy is amazing. My Dh and I were stunned to see Ashley and Vanessa looking the way they did, very grown up, but still appropriate. Move over Lindsey Lohan and HIlary Duff because these two are on their way.
I can't wait for part 2 !

I'm loving reading all these reviews, etc... We are going next Friday and I can not WAIT!!!

All these reviews are getting me so pumped up!!! It will be so much fun. I'm taking DD & 2 of her friends and their moms, basically for her birthday. :cheer2: :cheer2:

my DD9 did the same thing - just sat through the whole thing in quiet awe...

also, I also thought grown up but appropraite - especially with the dress...maybe a little less so with the dance moves(though nothing terrible)..there was a real effort to keep the dress appropraite (although short) - there was always something under the short stuff, ties used to cover cleavage where tops were low, etc...I think they are trying to transition them and/or appeal to the wider audience of HSM, while doing so in an appropriate manner.....

:)

We went to the show in Charlotte last month and LOVED it. I think I enjoyed it as much as the kids did. :cool1: If you or your kids want to relive a moment, or get a preview or what your giong to, Youtube.com has lots of videos if you search high school musical concert.

Thanks, I will check that out. I took pics, but I am not sure how they will come out because they were always moving. I am going to try to make photo albums for my daughters so that they will have their memories of the night.
I forgot to add that while i read from previous posters about Vanessa seeming to be uncomfortable with Drew, that was not the case last night. She was smiling at him and I felt that it was real. I didn't get any bad vibes about them. Maybe she was just under the weather.
It was really an exciting night! I am still in awe at such a good time we had.

My ds was watching the premier of Vanessa's song and new video during Jump In. He was so excited to see that they filmed it during the Hartford concert when we were in the audience.

My photos came out great. I love the ones where you can see the person live and their image on the big screen behind them.

I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the concert and that they did a great job.

We're going to WDW on Wed. They moved the HSM showe from MK to MGM and it is supposed to open when we are there.
