High School Guidance Counselor?

Hello! Is anyone a High School Guidance Counselor? I have a BM in Music Education, and I'm thinking about this area as a possible career. I didn't like the band director thing, but I love students on a one-on-one basis (I'm a private music teacher).

Any advice? Do you like the job? Is it the normal school-year or do you work all year round? Do you need to keep your education liscensure current?
