Hi folks,
This good news was buried in another thread so I just wanted to make sure people saw it. I just booked a King Kidsuite (6/18-7/1) for $102.50/night.

Mike

Thanks! I called to add one more night and even though they were very confused and I had to make two unnecessary calls I did get my $76 rate (Jan) . Whoo Hoo!! Now I just have to watch and see if they do the BOGO free rate offer to see if it is any less ;)

Thanks for the tip on the entertainment card. I got a 2 room suite at HIFS for $69/night in Jan 2004.

if you go to www.priorityclub.com (this is the national website for the holiday inn.) You can book your holiday inn stays with the entertainment rate on this site. I booked for the holiday inn mercado on universal blvd for 59.95 a night at the entertainment rate. but you can pick other holiday inns from orlando with the entertainment rate as well. also look into the 21 advance day rate. some times you can get as much as 40 percent off the normal rate when you prepay for your room.

When I called to confirm my reservation last week for November, they told me they no longer do the entertainment rate, but since I had already booked, they would honor my reservation but just wanted to tell me for future reference.

Now she also told me I can't use my pizza coupon since I already got the ent. rate and therefore, can't use two promotions during my stay.

Do you all think she was whacked? or what?

We booked our HIFS on-line and were able to get the entertainment rate I shared above. We already had reservations so we just made a new reservation on-line then called and canceled the old one. The person on the phone noticed both reservations and canceled the higher priced one...she never said anything about not honoring the entertainment rate.

(We made sure to get our cancelation numbers and will keep those just in case)

Since we have our confirmation number and everything on a print-out I'm expecting that they will honor it.

We just returned and had an entertainment rate of $73/night and used our pizza coupon. On top of that they gave us another free pizza because we were returning guests.

Well, I called back to ask about the 3 bedroom kidsuites they are now advertising.

She said the 3 bedrooms are not involved in the entertainment rates.. it runs about 250.00 a night (at that rate, you are better off getting 2 king kidsuites).

She checked on my pizza coupon and said I can still use it, but the person won't be getting the credit (sorry to whomever sent me the coupon!) because I'm using 2 promotions.

I got the 2 bedroom kidsuite for 86.00 a night.

Any comments on the quality if the mattresses? Did you have twin beds or bunk? My MIL wanted to know if the kids room had plastic mattress covers on them (can't imagine that they would...). And how was the sofa bed?

We're actually going to have 8 people in the 2 bedroom suite. I figure 2 adults and 1 small child in the king (we do this anyway at home)... 2 adults on the twin beds, with 1 child on the pull out, and 1 adult and 1 child on the sofa bed. Is that going to work?

Thanks!

Would it work? Maybe.

Will you be comfortable? I can't imagine.

The bed in the kidsuite is a bunk bed, and I'm sure it has weight limits, so I'm not sure about putting an adult on the upper bunk. Also, the pull out bed is VERY small.

As for plastic covers, no, there are none. And according to my MIL, the pull out couch was comfortable.

We had 5 in a kidsuite on our last trip and I could not imagine having any more in that room. It's only 480 sq feet, which is a nice sized room, but IMO, not for that many people. Especially with just one bathroom!

Thanks for the feedback! My parents are cheapskates.. lol.. so they are used to compromising comfort for cheapness... I guess we can do 3 in the king bed, 1 adult on bottom bunk, 1 child on top bunk and on pull out and then 2 adults on the sofa bed.

I guess we'll have to be brave and expect not to be comfortable and then re-evaluate for our next trip.

I would be interested to hear from others with 5+ people in the room. Any other cheap-skates out there??

I want the entertainment rate but have no entertainment card. How can I get one? Please help!

We are cheapskates! We stayed there last September and had 7 in a room. The bulk were children, but for the amount of time we spent in the room , we didn't care!!! We also had 1 child sleep with us in the king. (Actually sometimes 2 or 3 depending who wandered in at night!) We had an awesome time.

The entertainment book, which contains the card can be purchased online . Do a search on your computer, I am sure that you will be able to find it.

Blessings,
Kim

I'm from Canada and am also planning on booking at the HIFS for end of Jan. I did a search for the entertainment book and came up with one but it did not have HIFS in it when I previewed the hotels. I would so much appreciate someone giving me a site where I could purchase this book and card that I need to get that great rate!:Pinkbounc It sounds like the purchase is well worth it!
Thanks so much!!!::yes::

HI !
Just got off th phone with Entertinment/TrilegiantCorp. today inquiring about Hotels in my book Htels 1/2 Price.1-888-231-save
They suggest you buy a Entertainment Book at a Book Store ( Borders....)and go to their website. Then register on their website for more info on unprinted discounts .
I use Travelers Advantage Travel Club. 1-800-548-1116
Today I booked HIFS for April 04 at Entertainment @102.50+tx. for a Kids Club Suite.

SEEYA!

"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!"

Try Entertainment.com . That is where I get mine from. They weren't listed in the book last year, but were accepting the card for a discount. That may be what happened this year also. According to what I have read, you just need to show a valid entertainment card at check in. I hope this helps!

We buy our entertainment book on-line also, but I have seen them at Borders. This is a good time of year to check bookstores because the 2003 will expire at the end of Oct 2003.

Go to link below.

http://www.hifamilysuites.com/resint.html

Click on "Make a Reservation Online"

which will take you to an information page. In optional information there is a scroll down that says "Best Available". Scroll down and you will see "Entertainment Card" select this when you make reservation. (Of course you must have all required information filled in too.) It will then give you the entertainment rate and the room selection.

You will not need the entertainment card until you check-in

Thanks for the help everyone! I'm going to go ahead and book at the entertainment rate thankyou for the walk thru on how to! Then I'm going to order my book online(the orlando one). Being able to use the coupons while we are there is a good idea. We don't have a borders here and I have actually never heard of an "entertainment book" until now. Canada (jeesh..)
Thanks again I'm excited about the great price!! Wow Mike you are saving a bundle!! Definetly worth it! Thanks again for the helpful responses!::yes::
