I'm quite HAPPY -- I just booked HIFS for our stay in February for 76.00/night entertainment book rate. I had read about 85.00 rate and that is what I was hoping to get -- 76.00 (to me, anyway) is Super!! :Pinkbounc

I booked 2/3-2/12 (9 nights) in a King Kidsuite through www.holiday-inn.com

Has anyone done better? In other words, can I relax with this rate, or do I still need to keep checking for something lower?

Congratulations!!!

I think $77 is an awesome rate! I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m going December 12-19 and I got a rate of $73 and you know that I’m happy as a clam to have that rate!

Congrats!!!

You can definitely relax, that's an awesome rate!!!

Have a great trip,

Teresa

Oops...it was actually 76.00 -- I just edited.

That is the same rate I got for the end of Jan. and I have been told that it is the lowest rate for the Entertainment card for that time of the year. I tried to get it down to $69.00 by playing ignorant about an ad I saw on a web site but it was a no go. I was originally told $145.00 so I am soooo happy w/ the $76.00. Doesn't it feel great to get such a deal? I know I was just giddy :D

Well, I was originally booked at Disney's POFQ before they announced the closing for renovations...I was HOPING for a discount code to maybe get my rate below 100.00/night.

I CANNOT believe how much more I'm getting at HIFS for MUCH less $$$...

...I am definitely tickled pink.:Pinkbounc

My boys are quite happy to be getting "their own room" as well!

It is giving me a price of $86 for our stay in October. Maybe cuz it is a weekend stay??

86.00 is the rate I kept seeing that everyone was getting...so that's actually what I was hoping for. (Pleasantly surprised to get something lower.)
Maybe their idea of "value" season is dec-feb, and oct would be a little higher?
I would have been happy with 86.00 though...I compared A LOT of hotels, and this seemed to me to offer the most at the best price.

I just called HIFS for March 20-27 2004 and the entertainment rate is $102. For that time of the year is that a good rate?

Since that is peak season, I'd say it's a great rate :).

According to their online reservations, it looks like the lowest rate available (without a cancellation penalty) is $153.75 a night :).

With the Entertainment card rate, you can cancel anytime up to 6:00 on the day of arrival.

Have a good trip.

I checked the rates online using the link in my first post up above. The first two nights of your stay will only be 97.50 if you book that way. The other nights came up at 102.50. The website has a low rate guarantee, so if you did happen to come across something lower (which seems unlikely) they will adjust it.

When using that link, on the first page, type in orlando for the city. Fill in your other info, dates, #people, etc. Then use the drop down box where it says "best available" and change it to "ent book" or "ent card" something like that -- it's near the top of choices. Then click go.

When the page of hotels comes up, HIFS is the first one. Just click on rates, and you're all set.

You need to use a credit card to reserve, but they charge no deposit and you have until 6pm of the day of your stay to cancel without being charged anything.

When in Oct. are you looking to go? If you look on their own website www.hifamilysuites.com, and click on Rates and Packages, you can see the different "seasons". Oct. 12th starts a higher season. The rack rate jumps to $172, which would give you an Ent. rate of $86. We are going Oct. 4th - 12th, and were given the Ent. rate of $73, because the rack rate during that time is only $146.

Hi all, new here...

We're looking to go with 7 people to HIFS in November (16-21) and was quoted 139.00.

What is an entertainment rate/book/card/coupon and where do Iget it? Please spell it out for me! LOL... what online site was that mentioned? Expedia?

Thanks.

Jennifer

Go to www.holiday-inn.com and type orlando, fl in the box at left, along with your dates. Where the drop down box says rates: best available, click and choose enter. card* rate. HIFS will be the first hotel in the list to come up after you click go. Just click on rates. Your rate if you want a King Kidsuite would be 86.00/night.

I think there are several places to get an entertainment book/ card. I'm not sure where the best price is, as I haven't gotten mine yet. I'm sure someone will post. You may want to check the budget board, that info is on there often.

An entertainment book/card has coupons and discounts for things like restaurants, mini golf, rental cars, hotels, and other area attractions. My understanding is that you do not need the Orlando book to use the card for this hotel discount. If you didn't think you would use enough of it, you could get a book for your hometown. Many of the meal coupons are BOGO or half-off from what I have seen, so it doesn't take much to get your money back. And one night's hotel savings could pay for the book in itself. I think (not positive) that the Orlando area book is 30.00, but one for your area may be less.

We are a family of 6. Me, DW and kids (9, 8, 6 and 3). What type of suites can we fit in? We only need the room for one night before moving to VWL so we would prefer the least expensive suite we can fit into.

All advice would be appreciated.

Well, you certainly could fit in a kidsuite at HIFS (mom and dad have their own room with king size bed, older kids get the bunk beds, and little ones get the pullout in the living room). You don't say when you're going, so I don't know what your rate would be. If you are loooking for something even cheaper than that I really can't help, but I'm sure someone on this board will have suggestions. Good luck!

Thanks so much for posting this info!

I have the Entertainment card, so I decided to call HIFS for a quote. I got $73 a night (kidsuite) for October! I'm thrilled with this rate! The lowest rate we ever paid at HIFS was $69 a night for FL residents when it first opened. I'm happy!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

If you don't have an entertainment card, your Disney Club card has an entertainment card logo on the back and when I called the reservation desk, she said that was good.

Don't forget, this is only good through 12/31/03 (when all DC cards expire:( ).
