Hiding Magic Bands- q about surprise?

Hi there... we're going to Miami first and then to Disney (the Disney part is a surprise). Do you think I'm able to pack the MB in the box they came in, on my carry on? Or, do you think the TSA might pull it out (and ruin our surprise)? Should I just take the bands out and hide them in my purse? Any ideas are welcome, thanks so much!!!

What about hiding them in your checked luggage?

I had mine in a plastic baggie in my backpack and they didn't take it out. I'm sure to TSA it just looked like a bunch if bracelets.

Seems to me the box is just extra bulk to worry about. We always take ours out just for ease. If you do want the box is at least consider breaking it down for easy travel (if you can).

Never had TSA worry about the bands in my computer bag.

Hmmm...I'd be too afraid to put them in checked luggage. I've had too many bad experiences with lost luggage AND luggage missing for days. I know just bring carry-ons for all of us.

Ours were just in the bottom of my carry on for our last two trips (no box) and the bags just zipped through xray- no interest whatsoever. They probably see about 50 go through on every orlando-bound flight every day.

Just toss them in your bag and wait for the right time to spring them on the kids! Have fun!

You will need them to get on Magical Express - they scan your bands at the check-in line. So don't pack them in checked luggage, and make sure everyone has their bands before going to the Magical Express location. Have a great trip!

I didn't need the bands to get on ME, just my confirmation booklet. I was digging through my backpack to get the bands but the CM told me that the barcode on my book was good enough. Didn't need the bands til we got to the hotel room.

kwannon is correct - you don't have to use the Magic Bands for Magical Express; you can still use the ticket booklet coupons. But, if you have the bands already, Magical Express will be the first place of the trip where they can be used. Your kids might want to have them when they see the other children wearing their bands and scanning them.

DO NOT put your Magic Bands in your checked luggage. If the airlines looses the bag or if it gets broken into ( and it has happened ) - then your out and the surprise it really ruined then.

You should be able to put them in your carry on with no problem.
