So my birthday is a week from today!!!!!!! But I am pet-sitting every evening between now until after Thanksgiving, so I had birthday dinner, cake and presents with my parents last night to celebrate!

I got lots of presents for my WDW trip!!!!

I got a 16 gig memory card and another battery for my Sony NEX. Which I will definitely need at WDW!!!

I also got a WDW hoodie!

And I got a Toy Story Vinylmation

And completely unrelated to Disney, but totally awesome, I got a camera lens coffee mug!!! It looks just like a camera lens, but it's really a coffee mug!!!

Pretty cool, eh? I so cannot wait for my trip!!!!!

So I am super excited to hear that our favorite WDW restaurant, Sci-Fi, has a new menu!!!!

I'm very excited about the All American Picnic Burger!!! I also cannot wait to try the Red Velvet Cheesecake!!!

So I made a lunch ADR for Sci-Fi based on the old menu... The new menu is listed as "All Day" so I'm guessing it's the same menu for lunch and dinner... I've been debating keeping lunch or changing it to dinner for awhile now...

I'm thinking I'm going to keep it for lunch. Mostly because Joe and Sofia have mentioned that HS is only a half-day park for them. (When Joe was a child, he fell down the stairs at the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. And it was a very traumatic experience for him, so now he won't go to any shows at HS... only rides.) So if we keep the lunch, they can leave the park early after they've done their rides, and we can stay.

But the last runtime for the shows is usually around 4 or 5pm... And there are EMHs at the park that night... So I guess it would make more sense to do the shows we wanna see first, then go do the rides... Hmmm.... I don't know...

My newest TV obsession.

Seriously, I love this show. Sometimes I think this show was made just for me! Like over at ABC they were like, "So Lindsay really likes television as a story-telling medium, let's make a show for her! She loves Disney and princesses and fairy tales, so let's do that! And we'll cast Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Morrison because she's a huge fan of both of them! Oh hey! And she loves Mad Men, so we should get the kid that plays Bobby Draper! And in every episode we'll have little references to her favorite show Lost, so that besides getting into the story, each week she can play a little game and try to spot all the references!"

But yes, it's a really great show! The writing is wonderful, the characters are so well done, and it is fantastically cast! If you haven't been watching it, I highly recommend checking it out.


So since it's on ABC, I'm wondering, do they have anything Once Upon A Time related over at WDW?? Does anyone know??? A little prop display at the ABC Commissary?? Advertisements on buses? Anything? It just seems like a show they'd heavily promote over at WDW... And I'm really hoping I see something Once Upon A Time related on my WDW trip!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to hear that your great aunt passed away. That would be fun if you guys stopped by DL while you were in California though!

That camera lens coffee mug is fantastic! I first looked at that like WHY ARE THEY POURING COFFEE INTO THERE??? Very awesome!

I have a little lull before Thanksgiving, in my petsitting (lucky thing b/c I'm sick!) and it's a good thing b/c October was CRAZY for me, I'm actually surprised I don't have more for Thanksgiving, but that usually means more for Christmas. I'm glad you celebrated your bday before it got hectic! I'm off to look at the new menu, didn't know they had changed!

Wow... I definitely don't have a lull right now! My next week is insanely busy!! I pretty much have dog walks scheduled all day long! No idea why it's so busy this week! You wouldn't normally expect the week before a holiday to be this busy... My Thanksgiving doesn't look too bad though! Currently I only have overnight visits booked. Oh, and some cat visits. But no dog walks. That's how it was last year. But the year before my Thanksgiving was super busy! I had overnights scheduled, plus around 10 dog walks to do during the day!

I am very sad to report that my cousin passed away this past week. He died of a drug overdose. He was 31. I am absolutely heartbroken.

This is a photo of me with him and his younger sister when we were kids. I'm the one in the middle.

And here is a more recent photo of us. I'm holding his dog Ray Ray, and my younger brother is standing behind us. And that's our grandmother with her birthday cake down at the bottom.

I love him so much and miss him terribly.

On a happier note, I got a new phone this week!

I got the new iPhone 4s.

It's a pretty fun toy... The camera is fantastic! The Apple website has a pretty impressive gallery of photos taken with the iPhone 4s that you can see here if you're curious.

And now that I have an iPhone, I have to admit that I am obsessed with Instagram! I post photos all the time, so if you also use Instagram you should definitely follow me! My username is trickiwoo. And I will definitely be posting TONS of photos while I'm at WDW!!!!

Yup, this is my first iPhone. (I'm on Sprint, so this is the first iPhone model to be available with Sprint) I cannot wait to bring it to WDW!!! Which brings me to the question... what are the best WDW apps for the iPhone???

So DBF and I are engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


So kind of a long story, my dad bought a diamond engagement ring years before he even met my mom. It was for sale for over $1,000 less than what it was worth, and since it was such a good deal he bought it assuming that one day he would get married.

Then in December of 1981 (30 years ago!!!) he proposed to his girlfriend (my mom) and gave her the ring. Later she decided to pick out her own engagement ring, which is the ring she wears today! My parents held onto the first engagement ring and told me I could have it when I got engaged.

So DBF and I always knew we had an engagement ring already whenever we decided to get married.

So over this past weekend we discussed it and decided that we wanted to get married next year! DBF was planning to formally propose next month at Disney World. But then we went and got the ring from my parents, and they were all super excited and wanted to tell all my relatives right away. And DBF and I were both pretty excited and couldn't really wait another month and a half... So now I'm wearing the ring and we told everyone we're engaged!

Haha, not exactly romantic. But we couldn't wait!!!! And we will formally celebrate our engagement at our most favoritist place ever.... Walt Disney World!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!! What an awesome ring to have, it makes it so special! Don't be worried about not having some crazy romantic story about the engagement, it's the relationship and the marriage that matter! My husband and I have been together 20 years and we just mutually decided to get married, so story other than that!

I'm so sorry about your cousin! I don't know how I missed that post, I was sick for a couple weeks and it must have been when I wasn't checking in. As for the iphone, I love mine as well, but I just have the older 3GS. I LOVE my WDW apps! I have a couple: the Disney countdown to the magic, WDW dining, WDW hours, and WDW waits. Most of those were free and I love just opening up the WDW waits and seeing how long the rides are at any given time! Hopefully I will use them at the park too.

Yikes!!! Our trip is just around the corner!!! And I've been soooo busy, I haven't even really thought about it much!!!

So besides getting engaged, DF and I also had another big change recently... we got a new dog!

If you recognize him, it's because I've already posted a picture of him in my PTR! He belonged to my cousin. After my cousin died, his parents were unable to find him a home, so I adopted him.

His name is Ray Liotta, but he goes by Ray Ray! He's a 5 year old chihuahua. He's the sweetest little boy and he has been a great addition to our pack!


We aren't the only ones getting new pets!!! Joe and Sofia got a new cat recently!

They named him Rocky Fyodor Ferenc.



On a trip related note, in the past couple days we paid off the balance of our trip, bought plane tickets and booked DME!!!!!!!!!! So now everything is all set and we are ready to go! I'll post updated itineraries and trip details soon!

Congratulations!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in the fall and we don't have a romantic engagement story either. It was just something we decided we wanted and he took me shopping to pick out my own ring (though I do have a funny story about that - DH's uncle is a jeweler and to this day he introduces me as "my nephew's wife, the only woman who has ever stood in my store and told her fiancee she wanted a smaller diamond"... What can I say, my DH has somewhat flashier taste than me! )

I am so bad at updating this PTR!!!! I'm so sorry!!! I guess I never realized just how busy I am between September and January what with the holidays and all!!! On the plus side, being this busy means I've had my mind occupied with other things, so I haven't had much time to obsess over my Disney trip!

We had a good Christmas!! DF got me a bunch of Vinylmations! I also got a bunch of fun lenses for my iPhone! (Telephoto lenses, fisheye lenses, macro lenses, etc.) So I'm going to have fun playing with those at WDW!

Happy New Year everyone!!!! 2012 is looking like it's going to be an AWESOME year for me! It's going to be the Year of Disney! DF and I are going to WDW in 2 weeks with our friends. Then I'm going to Disneyland in March with my family. Then DF and I are going back to WDW in October for our honeymoon! We're doing a Land & Sea honeymoon where we spend a couple days at the parks (Food & Wine festival!!!) then go on a Disney cruise!!!! I'm so excited, I can't wait!!! But I figure I should focus on one vacation at a time... Haha, so, back to my January 2012 PTR!

Our friend Diana was home visiting her family for the holidays! So it was good to see her! She is very excited about the trip! As are Joe and Sofia!

So Diana will be flying down that Friday and spending Friday with her family in Florida. Then DF and I are flying down Saturday, and Joe and Sofia are driving down Saturday. So Diana will be meeting us at Downtown Disney on Saturday, doing Magic Kingdom with us on Sunday and Hollywood Studios with us on Monday before flying back either Monday night or Tuesday morning.

As I mentioned before, I'm bringing my camera, Sofia is bringing her camera and Diana is bringing her camera. So we're planning on splitting up from the boys for a bit so we can all go take pictures and Joe and Chris can go do whatever it is boys like to do! (Probably go on the rides over and over again!) Also, Sofia mentioned that she wanted to go meet characters and get pictures taken with them, which Joe and Chris were not at all interested in doing!

Our plane is scheduled to land in Orlando at 2:05pm. The first thing we're going to do once we land is go to the Disney Store at the airport! I will probably buy at least 1 Vinylmation. And I may possibly trade a Vinylmation depending on what is available for trading! Then DF and I will ride the DME to POFQ! We'll check into our room and then probably meet up with Joe and Sofia at the hotel. Then we'll all ride the ferry over to DTD! I'm planning on having dinner at Earl of Sandwich! And doing lots of shopping! We'll meet up with Diana sometime that evening.

Then my plan is to head over to the Poly. I'd like to watch the MK fireworks from the beach at the Poly! Then watch the Electrical Water Pageant. After the water pageant, we're going to do the Monorail Drinking Tour where we ride the monorail to each of the monorail resorts and get a drink or 2 at each of the bars!

Then the rest of the night is up in the air. We may head back to DTD and spend the evening there, or we may head back to POFQ and spend the evening there. Or we may call it a night and go to sleep so we can get up early the next morning. Who knows?

We didn't do any Disney trips at all in 2011, so we are more than making up for it in 2012!!! Haha! And hey! If we happen to win one of those One More Disney Day vacations, then it looks like we'll be taking yet another WDW trip this year!!!
