Hidden Mickey book vs. app for 8 year old?

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with the Hidden Mickey book vs. the app? Trying to figure out (today because we leave Saturday!) if we should get the book off Amazon prime or just do the app for our 8 year old.

You can buy the book at Disney, that way you can see it. My son bought the book back in 2010 and has used it every visit since. He finds ones he missed, finds new ones when we visit new places. The app would drain your battery.

He much prefers the book!

Haven't used the app, but my boys have used the book for several years. They really enjoy it. I'm all for encouraging old school reading over the online way - since it seems like they do that for just about everything these days!

I'd love to hear some reviews of the app as well. I like the book a lot but don't necessarily want to carry it (or anything other than a phone and some cash) around the parks.

we haven't tried the app either, but my 8 year old son LOVES his Hidden Mickey book. He likes that he can jot down things in margins and I like that he's not constantly asking to use my phone.

Another vote for the book here! We've had a hard copy for our last 2 trips. It is a pain to carry around, though, so we usually end up leaving it at the hotel the latter part of our trip and just look on our own.

We've got a 3 year old and a 7 year old so we've got the full on stroller + back pack(s) + cooler going on . Sneaking a book in there will be no problem - thankfully! . Thanks everyone!

We used to use the book. Now we have the app. We love it. It is so convenient and lets the kids check off which ones they find so they can keep track form trip to trip. We use it all of the time and I have never had my phone battery die yet. We don't have a stroller or diaper bag, so it works much better that carrying a book for us.
