Hi All

Very exciting to get our big red envelope today:goodvibes decided to do the alamo online checkin!

It is saying that we will be charged $77 for a tank of fuel which we expected but it then lists a whole lot of other charges $104 -
Customer facility charge $12.50
Airport Access fee 10% $28.43
Airport Access fee 10% $7.18
Tire/Battery Fee $0.30
Florida Surcharge $30
Vehicle Lic Fee $10
Sales Tax $15.60
(written as listed)
Total for us to pay $176.00!!!
we have the fully inclusive virgin package (not platinum)
is this right????:confused3

From VH website http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/brochures/florida/info/flydrive/insurance/

Virgin Holidays' Fully Inclusive Package

This includes 3rd Party Liability Cover $1 million, LDW and UMP, plus all State Taxes, Airport Fees, Handling Fees and includes CFCs and HSFs

Clearly states fully inclusive, all you should have to pay is the fuel, never used VH for car rental so I can't help much, always find it cheaper not taking the car and booking my own.

Thankyou Wayne - knew I could rely on you:thumbsup2

I think the best option is not to check in on line and sort it when we get there - not collecting car until early next day anyway so wont be a major queue hopefully!! Have all the documents stating that we have the fully inclusive insurance.

12 days to go :cool1:

Contact Virgin asap as you should only be paying for the full tank of petrol.Try ringing them on 01293 496900 and if prompted go for new bookings and you should get through to a UK call centre.

We have just come back and were charged approx $55 dollars for fuel, I think this is overcharged as well as when the tank was nearly empty we put $10 in and it got us to Busch Gardens and back and to Orlando Airport so approx 160 miles which seems stupidly cheap but true!!!! :confused3

What car did you have? even the smallest cars have a tank on them around 12.5Gal which at $3.50 works out at $43.75. It is a slight overcharge as you can never use the whole tank.

Watch out for Virgin car hire, we have had a fly drive where the car hire is "Free" but it's only for 7 days, you have to pay extra for a second week.

I'm also pretty sure you have to pay insurances on top of the 'free' week to as I remember.
We have often chosen to book a fly drive as the flight was cheaper than booking direct, but have always gone DIY for our car hire.

Just don't let them know you will not be picking up the car before hand or they will charge you the difference.

Hi:goodvibes
