You guys have motivated me -- can you tell?
This very easy recipe is also very adaptable to your own variations.
3/4 cup sugar (part brown sugar)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup melted butter/margarine
1 apple, peeled, cored, and sliced (20 pieces)
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
2 cans of packaged (10 count each) biscuits
Combine sugar, nuts and cinnamon in a bowl.
Melt butter/marg in a shallow pan.
Separate two cans of biscuits and dip each into melted butter/marg and then into the sugar mixture.
Arrange biscuits overlapping (15 around the bottom inside of a 9" round cake pan.)
Place the remaining five in center of circle.
Put one apple slice between each biscuit.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
Glaze:
Combine
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 - 3 teaspoons of milk
Drizzle over cake.
Best served warm.
