I miss you guys! I am sorry I havent been around much, but I have been filling in at work a lot. I had 54 hours last week and expect to have as much this week.
This shouldnt go on for too long, just until we can find and train some new drivers. I did get a promotion and a raise so thats a good thing.
Anyway, other than the usual feeding everyone who lives above the first floor daily grind, something really cool happened the other day.
I was in the store waiting for my run to come up and a man I did some design work came in. Hes a great guy who happens to run the newspaper in this area. I did some ads for him and designed some labels for another company he was involved with.
I introduced him to the manager on duty as Mr. Smith*, the guy in charge of the newspaper.
Mr. Smith and I were catching up on each others lives when he asked me what I was doing delivering pizza. I told him I was on a brain break.
My job requires very little thought.
So Mr. Smith tells me as soon as I was looking for work again, give him a call. He would be happy to give me some projects. Loved working with me before, would love to work together again.
That was so nice.
The manager on duty was listening to the conversation and said, Youre going to deliver newspapers and be the paper boy next? He chuckled at me.
Before I could answer that Mr. Smith said Shes a great artist, dont you know that? She is not a delivery driver.
But I play one on T.V.
I think I may have been slightly insulted that the manager on duty seems to think the only qualification I have in life is to drive a car.
Anyway, it really made my day to hear him say that. He gave me something to think about too.
Wait! That violates my brain break rules!
So as soon as things settle down I should have some interesting stories to share. I just wanted you to know I was thinking about all of you.
Good lord, Im thinking a lot lately. I better go lay down.
