Hey guys!

I know I have been off the boards for a while (and I really miss it: ). I am going to blame my new job and all of the enormous life changes we have had recently! Seriously, I think just about everything has changed in the last two months.

ANYWAY, I just wanted to let you know that I am still here, that I will be back, and that my hubby has posted a new trip report on our website. This is the June 2007 report - where we went to the beach with SIOH and her hubby!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts, guys. I have really missed the boards and all of you!

Basically, the company that my DH helped start and where I had gone to work - well, they decided I was too expensive. Never mind that I was a partner! So I had to find a new job, quick. Turns out I was more employable than I thought - I had 5 interviews lined up in 2 days and a new job on the Monday after they let me go on Wednesday. I went back to the bank where I used to work - fiduciary tax again! Anyone want to be bored stiff?!? But the person who was making me miserable there has left, and I actually have a nice position now - no one to mess up my sandbox, if you know what I mean!

In the meantime, DH is now fed up with the company - he is an owner too and they gave him no notice or vote in the decision about me and they have now stopped inviting him to owners meetings. SO, he is forcing a buy-out of our shares. Needless to say, he is stressed and hates every day, but we have to get all of this worked out before he can even contemplate making any changes. So while I am okay now, we have to get the rest straightened out before I can really relax.

Whew - I didn't mean to write a book! It's so good to be back!!!!!

Wow, craziness all the way around. DH might want to get a lawyer or something so they can't oust him in a hostile take over. Did they give a nice package or a here's the door don't let it hit you on the way out scenario?

Buffy, we have an attorney working on things. We are trying not to let it get nasty.

They basically told DH about 10 minutes before they told me, literally asked him, "do you think she'll take this personally?" DUH, he said. Then they came to my office and said I was too expensive, but they would pay me for two weeks. And I could work those two weeks or just leave. I said BYE!!!! After all, I had to job hunt. I wound up only being off for one week.

It's so good to see you back! I too had missed seeing you and hoped everything was okay. Glad some of your stresses are calming down.

I can't wait to read your new trip report! BTW - I had held off on reading the Keys to the Kingdom description from your last trip report until I went on the tour myself last week (which I LOVED!!!! - we had Matthew too and I was so psyched because I knew he was your guide!). I just got back on Saturday and I haven't had a chance to read the whole thing yet but I'm itching to do just that. On the tour I knew I wouldn't remember everything but I felt so reassured know I would have the report to jog my memory when I got home! So a big thank you to your DH for writing it, and to the 4 of you for taking time out of your park day to work on your outline for it!!
