We got back last night, had absolutely no traffic delays at all this trip. Breezed through the border at Detroit~no line-ups either way! Drove through some good rainstorms both ways and fog in the mountains where we had to slow down some, but nothing like the snow storm we drove through on our way home after New Years.

The weather in Orlando was gorgeous, better than the forecasts and I wished I'd brought more summery clothes. It cooled down at night and you needed a sweater.

Disney was busy but certainly not like at Christmas/NYs. We did e-night last Thursday and there seemed to be more people than when we did it last summer. We stayed at All Star Music again and there were lots of teenagers on Spring Break, but they didn't bother us in any way. We were in Country Fair 5 again, too, and it was nice and quiet back there.

I'll post a trip report when I get a chance, but I'll be glad to answer any questions. :)

Welcome back. Glad you had such a good time:)

Welcome home. Sounds like a good trip all around.

Welcome home Julie! Glad to hear that you had such a good trip! I read over on the riddle thread that DH and Dan got over their bugs quickly while down there. Nothing like warm weather and lots of sun to cure the yuchs!

Welcome back! Did you get lots of pix? Chat soon! Sandra

Welcome back home Julie!! :)

Awww... don't feel sad, you'll be back before you know it!! :) :) :)

Maybe DisCon???? :)

Hi: Julie:

Can you tel me if you drove straight thru, if not how many hours each day did you drive.

Did you find any reasonable meals for us canadians.

Thanks,

Deb.

Deb, we usually try to do two stops on the way down as it's less tiring on DH (his job is stressful) since he usually does the driving. So for us, we left Woodstock, after dinner at home, Friday night at about 5:45 and arrived for our first stop-over in Lima Ohio at 10:45pm. After the free continental breakfast at the hotel, we left the next morning at 9:00am and arrived for our second night in Byron, Georgia at 9:00pm. We departed Byron after the free continental breakfast, at 8:15 Sunday morning and arrived in Orlando in the afternoon around 3:00pm. We ate at Wendy's, Subway and Arby's along the way. We usually stop at a Bob Evan's or Ryans but I found it took too long and we spent twice as much money, and I wanted to save time and travelling expenses this trip. I think we all agreed this was better and we weren't so stuffed, either.

For the trip home, it's a little more driving intensive as we had just one stop-over in Knoxville Tenn. which is about half-way for us. We left Orlando, Saturday morning at 9:10am after breakfast in ASMu's food court and arrived in Knoxville at 9:00pm. We left the next morning at 8:30 and arrived home around 8:00pm. We ate at Arby's, Wendy's and Tim Horton's along the way.

Hope this helps! :) I don't think we could drive straight through, maybe when we were 20 years younger! ;)

Sandy, I was already thinking about "the next trip" on the drive down! ;)
Kim, yes~maybe DisCon. I am thinking about it. At least I would already know you, Old Kicker and Taryn. :)

Thanks julie:

Those are the same type of places we stop at while driving and on vacation. Plus we also do the hotels with continental breakfast. Every little bit helps.

I am trying to decide whether to leave on a friday at 3.30p.m. and drive til l0. the try for florida the next day. But hubby says a long drive on the second day will kill him. He would rather drive the first day l3 to l4 hours, and a little less day two.

Talk about 20 years younger. I broke my foot two years ago, and have been wondering how far I will be able to walk at wdw, now the past three weeks both of my hips are starting to ache.

My husband says I am gonna end up sitting in front of the statue of walt holding mickey's hand crying my eyes out cause I can't walk anywhere. lol, i said well i am still going on this trip it has been 6 years since we have been down there. perhaps our last family vacation with the kids. We always drive,

bye,

Deb.
