Just wanted to say a hello to everyone on this part of the forum, as I usually lurk around on the DLP boards :goodvibes

Thanks to this site I have had a couple of very successful trips to DLP and couldn't have done it without the help, info and advice I found on here.

Myself and my family have been surprised with a trip to Disneyworld next year courtesy of my Hubby's parents. So thought it was time to make my way over to this part of the boards to start my OTT planning for the trip of a lifetime!!

It has always been my dream to go to the USA and especially Disneyworld, so I really want to make the most of the holiday and the only way I feel I can do that is plan, plan and plan some more to make the most out of every second!!

My Hubby's parents have booked us in to the All Stars Music Resort for 14 nights in July 2012. They have booked us the Disney dining plan as well as getting us tickets for universal studios and wet n wild. (we need to book tickets for seaworld, discovery cove and busch gardens ourselves)

My main point of planning will be the food! I LOVE FOOD!! and I love the amercians way of eating...Lucky Charms cereal, Pancakes, maple syrup, burgers, chilli cheese dogs, tacos, pretzels, american candy bars I love it all and can't wait to try it all out. So alot of my planning will be based around getting the most out of our dining plan, getting reservations put in place and coming back 2 stone heavier no doubt!! lol

I look forward to hearing everyone words of wisdom and picking your brains for that much needed info to plan my perfect once in a lifetime holiday.

Thanks for reading!

how exciting for you. You will LOVE LOVE LOVE it...:)

BUT...you can overplan! You will not be able to fit everything in so try to really think about what you must do. I see so many people overplan their time to nearly the last second.:confused3 There will be days when you really don't want to do what you have planned and maybe go back to revisit something that you didn't quite finish, and days when you really need to stop and relax.. Remember to look up and smell the roses. :) There are times when you need to just get up in the morning at a decent time and not the crack of dawn and just go with the flow...

Have fun planning.:)

Hi queendisney.

Thanks for your post.

I have taken into consideration some rest days :thumbsup2

I imagine the heat is gonna knock us sideways as we are just not used to it, so plan on having a good few days unplanned for us to just relax and take it all in. Even for me I think 14 days of non stop organised plans is too much! I also plan to probably just get up and go out early in the morn to the Disney parks and return to the hotel in the afternoon to relax, swim or nap most days, as I can see us being very tried and hot most of the time.

The next 9 months can't go quick enough!
