Hi, kinda new here . . .

So I'm a little new here and just wanted to introduce myself. Don't really know anyone yet. I was a seasonal CM at the Disney Store here and really loved it this past Christmas. Have loved all things Disney all my life. Kids ask every day when we're going back but SHHH! July trip is a surprise ! Is there anything I should know about the boards?

Know this - there is nothing like these boards when planning a trip. I'm not a huge poster, but have been lurking around and kind of participating since before our first family trip in 2001. By the time I arrived, I knew everything (ok, not everything) and my husband was blown away. All he did to prepare was throw a change of clothes in a bag! He's like, "how do you know all this?" I explained the boards to him. Even met a cast member who posts (posted?) here while I was in MK during a thunderstorm - sought refuge at the Jungle Cruise.

Anyway, welcome and enjoy.

Yes, one thing. Your signature should not have more than 8 lines of text in it. If you go over to the tech board there is a tread about picture sizes, text, etc. This keeps the boards from bogging down too much at peak times, especially for those on dial up connections.

I spend a lot of time reviewing things on allears and am quite into planning my trip for maximum park efficiency. Will be with MIL, FIL, SIL & BIL & DN & DN in July though and they are not quite up to my efficiency standards . . . BIL said they just can't do more than one park in a day. Do you all just do one park a day? Because we always go to one in the a.m./early p.m., then over to another for the p.m. (evening). Is that a lot in July?

Welcome Mrs. Sparrow. One thing you should know, the Dis is not just about planning a trip. It's about friends. I found this place back in 2000, and have never left. I really don't need that much help in planning my trips since we go often, but I can't stay away.

I laugh, cry, grieve, share, ponder, wish (I could go on and on) with the people here. When I am sad, I come here. When I am happy, I come here. When I am lonely, I come here (again, I could go on and on) This is home to me, so beware, you may be stuck for life.

Welcome! As you can see by my number of posts, I am fairly new here too. These boards are a wealth of information, as well as a sure fire time-killer. (I usually come on for at least 2 hours a day!) But the people here are so kind and supportive, you won't even notice dinner burning, your kids screaming, etc...

Just a couple of warnings about things I learned the hard way.


1)Don't ask questions about breaking the rules. The times I did ask about pool hopping, parking at the Polynesian, that kind of thing, I honestly did not know it was against the rules, but people will definitely let you know what is right and what is wrong!!! (Most of the times, people are nice, but go down a few posts to one titled, "Child ticket for 10 year old..." if you want a good example of how this kind of thing can get out of hand.)

2)It gets pretty heated over at the Debate Board. If you're not up to it, don't post over there. Just lurk...



3) Don't come onto these boards thinking, "I'll just check one or two posts-IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!! These boards are so much fun, it's like Lay's Potato Chips-no one can read just one!
