Hi, I've been on the community & Dvc boards for a while and thought I'd come see y'all. I joined WW again, it will be 3 weeks Monday and started going back to Curves, took a break during Dec. too busy. Anyway, 1st week @ WW lost 3.2 lbs, 2nd week only .6, slightly dissappointed. I've done really well this week so far and haven't used any flex. However, today I just can't seem to get satisfied, I've tried not to eat, but I just can't get food off of my mind. What do all of you do on days like this?

Hi Kristi:wave2: and welcome to WISH! We're so glad you've decided to join us! Here you'll find a lot of help and support from people who are doing many different weight loss programs. What we all have in common, though, is being here for each other for advice, opinions, and caring--it really is a nice place to be! I'm not doing WW (I did my own program, and am now maintaining), but I know there are those here who've been very successful with it! I know they'll be able to give you some great tips! Once again, welcome to WISH! Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, and do stop by often. I'll be looking forward to hearing all about your progress! Oh, and I am having a "can't get food off my mind day" today, also. I exercised, am drinking tons of water, and trying to distract myself with other things (DISing!). Some days it's so hard for me. I'm sure others here go through this, and I'd love to hear some tips, too! Glad you're here, Kristi!:)

Welcome to WISH! I am a DVC member too. My home resort is Hilton Head. I stumbled upon WISH one day and I am so glad I did. I'm not on WW but I'm doing South Beach. You will find that people on this board are on a wide range of programs but we are all here to support and encourage each other.

Today has been one of those can't get food off my mind days for me too! It was really bad before lunch and has calmed down considerably now. There are several tricks I use to help me when I'm feeling like this, including, finding a good pack of sugar free Trident gum. There's nothing like keeping your mouth occupied. If the munchies persist, then I have a legal snack. I try to keep things on hand so I don't get caught having something I shouldn't. I also will have a soothing cup of tea. That can oftentimes calm me down. On SBD you eat 3 meals a day, 2 snacks and dessert so it's not too often I feel like I do today.

Another thing I do is to concentrate my mind on foods I can have. There is nothing worse than being on a program and feeling deprived so instead of dwelling or mooning over foods I am not allowing myself to eat right now, I might think about a steak and shrimp scampi dinner or a delicious warm taco salad. It doesn't satisfy my desire to eat at that moment, but it does give me the satisfaction of knowing at my next meal I'm going to chow down with some great food! Tonight I'm making crustless pizza and you can believe that's one of the things that's been on my mind all day. I also take recipes from my old way of eating and think about ways to make them SBD friendly.

I hope some of my suggestions help, they have helped me have over 50 cheat free days since I started WISHing and South Beaching!

Thanks guys, It's great knowing there's support here, I think I'm going to like it. Oh and ZerasPride, I'm not a DVC member, DH won't allow it in the budget yet, so I just lurk around DVC board to make myself believe that I am (I'm a DVC member "wanna be"). It's a sick, sick obsession. I'm thrilled to see BCV resales out there though, that's where dh said he would buy once I get my car paid down some. Anyway, it's great to be here!

Welcome Kristi  I'm glad you're going to be here with us!

I do WW, too. What I do when I'm hungry, but don't want to use any points is eat some 0 point veggies. Baby carrots usually, but also celery sticks or green peppers. If I have a point to spare, I'll dip them in some FF ranch dressing. Also an apple is fairly filling and just one point. Sometimes I will also "save" something from a meal, a piece of fruit or something, and have it later for a snack. I found that I'm a snacker and it helps to have a small snack between meals, so I just work that into my daily points.

Don't worry about the .6 for your second week loss. Some weeks are like that, and I'm sure next week will be better for you. And, hey, at least it was .6 in the right direction!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: Keep up the good work! You are doing great! :D

Welcome,
You will find great support and great advice here. I am doing the SB diet so I can not help with WW, but eating snacks that are within your plan are a good way to go. With SB we are allowed low fat cheese or peanuts and I also enjoy low carb ice cream once in a while.
Do not worry about slow weight loss this week, we all go through those stages. Exercise is a big help, I walk on the treadmill at home or I do the WATP tapes.
I have found that for me, losing 5 to 6 pounds a month has been good for me.
Good luck, glad you are joing us.

Hi Kristi! Welcome to the WISH Board! You will find lots of support and encouragement here, so jump right in!! :)

Hi Kristi, welcome to WISH. I can't help much with WW, but legal snacks & exercise works for me. You should be able to find something that will fit into your plan. If nothing else, knowing that I have the support of all the WISHers often gets me through a temptation. :sunny:
