Hi Just joined and visiting Disney & orlando for the first time in a few weeks. Is there anything/anywhere to avoid in Disney parks?

Thks1

Welcome! Could you be more specific? Do you need to avoid somewhere because of allergies or phobias? Othan than that, some places can become addictive, so you might want to avoid those places, like France in the World showcase where they sell individual glasses of Champagne, or EE in Animal Kingdom or RnR at Hollywood Studios :lmao: .

No real reason but I've looked across the boards and it seems everything is good. We're only looking to make a short visit so wanted to narrow down our options to the better parks/rides. Any thoughts?

If this is your first time, I would say do not avoid anything. Welcome.:cheer2:

If you have a short period of time, what you see and do depends on your family and ages of those who are going. But the best thing to do is be at the parks before they open. You can see and do so much before the crowds get there later in the morning - it's a great use of your time. The shows can take up a lot of time but some of them are really great so it depends on whether you like that kind of thing. Park hoppers are nice so that you can get two parks in on one day, especially if one park closes early. Table service meals can really eat into your time, but if you small kids an early character breakfast (before park opening) can get them their hugs and autographs so you don't have to spend a lot of time in the long lines at the parks getting those. Become familiar with the park layout a bit before you go and know what you want to see and do so you can use your time wisely before you get to the park. But you also want to spend a little time soaking up the atmosphere. It's all the little details that Disney does so well that you want to enjoy. If we knew more about what types of things you like - thrill rides, shows, water rides, etc. those here on the boards would be able to narrow things down for you more. Althoug I know sometimes people don't want to give out too much information - and that's okay too.

WELCOME!!

Be sure to get some maps at your hotel's front desk if you are staying on-property, or if off-site, then check around the lobby area for some - usually in a rack of local attractions. Read over them before heading over to a park to kind of get a feel for the lay of the land, and the brief descriptions provided of the various attractions. From there you will have an idea of things that sound appealing before you even step foot in a park. That way each member of your party can think about what sounds like it might be worth a try and you can start figuring out what you'd like to do first and so on. There's a LOT to see and do!

Have a great time!!!

I'm new here too. Not new to Disney though. It looks like there's a ton of information on here as opposed to other places I've been, so hopefully we can find what we're looking for.
