Hi all you fellow Brits

I've just discovered you and what a great find - I love your trip reports especially.

I'm planning our family's first trip - me, DH and 3 kids 7, 9 & 13.
We've booked a villa in Lindfields for 3 weeks 17 June - 7 July 2004 - can't wait!

I have a couple of questions:

1. Has anyone flown KLM? Bit out of the ordinary I know but we are flying from Israel to Orlando and looking at the possibility of flying via Europe.

2. Car hire - when is the best time to book?

3. Cirque tickets - I know that there are 2 performances each day - is there one show less crowded than the other (like the Disney evening parades)?

Thanks and I'm sure I'll have many more questions soon.
Take care and as our fellow Disney fans over there say "have a nice day!"

Mark & Jackie,
Welcome to the boards.
Sorry can't help with the airline or Cirque but sure some else may be able to. As for the car hire look on the various websites such as Dollar, Alamo, National etc. We have always used Dollar and found them no problem as long as you book with a big established company you sould hav no problems. Also check and see if they are doing any specal deals, but I should think the sooner you book the more likely you are to get the car you want espeially as your flights are now booked.
Happy planning.
Claire ;)

Car Hire
There area number of companies that offer decent rates on car hire. Unless you see a deal that seems to REALLYoffer a great saving, you should be OK to leave it until 6-8 weeks before you travel. Expedia and Ebookers both offer some reasonable rates and it may be worth checking them out. I've found that travelling from abroad insurance can work out to be very costly and an "all inclusive" quote may work out better. How that works from Israel I'm not sure.

Flights
KL are OK. You'll have a few choices from Israel, I'd probably go with whoever is the cheapest. Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, Virgin BA there's not much to choose between them.

Cirque
It varies, generally the "matinee" performances are a little less busy, but mostly they are all sold out ( or close to it) . I'd pick a day/time that suits you.

:smooth: Hi Jackie and Mark.

Just wanted to say WELCOME to the DisBoards. Can't help with any of these questions, but fire aware some more, there must be something I can answer;)

Hi....I agree with vernon re KLM - they are nothing exceptional (neither the best nor the worst).

Re car hire, coming from overseas to USA I wouldn't go other than fully inclusive (all insurances, taxes etc. pre paid) if putting together a DIY holiday. Cheapest rates I've seen for car hire at Airline Network and Skycars

Welcome

Sorry i can't help with any of your questions but we stayed at Linfields on our 1st visit. The villa was great , a quiet estate but close to Disney.

Mark and Jackie

Welcome to the Dis

I can't help with those questions I'm afraid, any others ? LOL

Welcome aboard :) !

Regarding Cirque, the only thing I would suggest is, if you are driving, book the earlier show on Friday and Saturday nights as it becomes more difficult to park later in the evening with lots of people arriving to eat in Downtown Disney West Side and live it up in Pleasure Island.
