Hi i'm from P.A.!!!!

Hi Chicklets, just stopping in to see if anyone misses me over here on the "Dis". I have been spending to much time on that darn Facebook site..lol. What has been new with everyone? All is much better here. Mom came home on 5/8 just in time for Mother's Day. My Dsis is one week out from giving out family a new baby girl. I keep hoping she will cave and name the baby a good name like Cinderella, Bell, Ariel, or maybe even Jasmine. One can only hope:confused3.
What has everyone got planned for the Memorial Day weekend? Anything good going on?

Welcome to all the newcomers....we have a really nice group here and always have room for fun people. Enjoy! Maybe we can even get Ants to organize a summer Dis meet....hint hint.

I will hang out over here more from now on...I miss all my Dis friends.
Terri
Hey Terri!!! It's great to have you back on the DIS!! I knew facebook would take people away from Dis. I go on, but still like it better here. :thumbsup2 Glad to hear your mom is doing so well! A new baby girl in the family!:woohoo: Don't know why your Dsis doesn't like your choice of names! :rotfl:

I haven't been around here much. I am spending too much time planning my Birthday trip with my Best Friend's family. Grand Villa at OKW, here we come!!!!

Looking for a favor from my Disboard Peeps. My youngest's Godmother nominated him for the "My Hero" contest thru the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs and The Morning Call. Nick was born with a congenital heart defect and has had 3 open heart surgeries and will be having another one this summer. To his credit (and ours too I guess) he has never let it slow him down. He plays baseball (with a protective vest) and basketball. Anywhoo... He is a finalist :thumbsup2:cool1:

There will be online voting starting Friday (5/22). I'll post the link on Friday morning. If it isn't too much trouble, Nick would appreciate your votes.

Thanx
Grand Villa???? :woohoo: Please post pictures!!! We stay at OKW most of the time. But in a 2br, not a grand villa.

I will absolutely vote! Just give us the link.

I may be able to swing that at OKW. I usually go jogging in the morning and instead of going around DTD I'll can just go through the LBV golf course and hit OKW. So family wouldn't understand having a meal with a stranger? that's funny

No, we wouldn't be there! It's 9-9:30PM!! Wouldn't want to to jog all the way over & not see us!:rotfl:
True, my brother & his family would not understand that meal! But I'd be afraid you woudn't understand them!!! :lmao: They live down south & we meet about twice a year at Disney. My DH doesn't do Disney. Can't understand the whole thing. He's been there 1 time! :confused3

There are 10 of us, so we definitely need the Grand Villa. I am so excited. I will definitely take pictures, BEFORE we move in....."Everybody wait outside the door....I need to take pictures!!" :rolleyes1 My family doesn't think I am crazy enough...

Thanks for thinking of me...I can't believe you haven't tried the cruise yet:goodvibes Maybe all the Pa'ers could have a Dis-meet on board?;)

Disney Cruises are awesome. I took one in 98 one of the maiden voyage trips> it was great. Some people had some things they didn't like but they were still working the bugs out. My DS took one last year and loved it. He did the seven day cruise as he works for Disney and didn't want to do the park. Sometime I definitely want to do another cruise. Castaway Cay (Disney's island) was a lot of fun. Lots to do. My sons were teenagers when we went and enjoyed the freedom of going to the teen lounge.

The cruise was THE BEST!!! We had a great time, even my non-Disney DH. My then 12 yr old loved the kids club. Hmmm, may have to rent out some DVC points to go on a cruise....

I'm trying to vote but it keeps going to the "Register" screen - and everytime I enter my info & hit "register" is clears out all the spaces & says I need to register to vote. Frustrating! I'm off to work but will definitely try again tonight. Good luck!

It's nice to know we have so many DIS fans in the LV. We have been members of the DIS for quite a few years and never realized it.
My DW and our 3 kids all graduated from Wilson High. I'm an Easton High grad (1968).
Do we have a DIS Meet coming up in our area any time soon?
My DW and I are really looking forward to our trip to SoG in October with our DS who is in the Navy.
Go Rovers! And, Go Warriors!

Welcome MiJo! Nice to have you join us! :thumbsup2
Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend! Back to work tomorrow.

I am doing my CDA for childcare, you can look it up at Cdacouncil.org if you would like, well there is some info I need from a hospital about field trips, etc.

I have tried Easton Hospital which is like out my back door, yeah they will not answer me....ugg. should of figured that one...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
info I need to answer is:

Name of local hospital and its polices about group field trips, orientation for children scheduled for hospitalization, and parents’ presence during children’s inpatient stays...

any help would be appreicated.....thanks

Hopefully someone here works for a local hospital that can help you out.

From a parent's view, I know when my son had a 3-day stay at St. Luke's Bethlehem I was allowed to stay in his room 24/7, come & go as I please, bring anything in/out, etc.

Ugh,,,,the only problem that I heard of was my friend. She had previously registered with mcall.com and forgot her password. All I can suggest is keep trying. I will vouch for the fact, that it isn't the easiest site to figure out. I do know that you have to register and then validate the registration. Maybe that's the problem.

Isn't modern technology wonderful??!!!!:rolleyes2 :badpc:

Like, Tara, I can give you a parent's perspective. Usually Nick is in CICU, so I can't stay by his bedside, but they do have rooms for parents who want to stay. When he is transferred to a regular unit, I can stay by his bedside.

My one DS is in the Air Force. His brother works for Disney, but he also is planning to use his Military Discount to stay at SoG probably next year. His brother will help him with everything else, but he will get a better discount with the military discount. Have you stayed at SoG before. I heard it is nice. I stayed there when it was the Disney Inn and Golf Resort long time ago. Welcome to the boards.
