Hi i'm from P.A.!!!!

I tried looking for the thread, but can't find it. Can you post a link?

How do I post a link? I'm computer illiterate. It's on the Community Board, should be page 1, I'm getting lots of responses (1 not so nice one!) - the title is "Am I over-reacting - 10-yr old/ATV issue".....hope that helps.

Hi Gals,

The Ladies only Food and Wine Fest trip: Here is my disclaimer: I'm basing this pricing on last years rate. Last year our rate was $260.00 per night at the Beach Club. We all had 2 in a room and we had the room for 3 nights. So room was $390.00 per person. If you don't have an AP I can group tickets for $246.34 for a 4 day park hopper. Our airfare wound up being $120.00 round trip. Pam's was most excellent at watching for Ding fares. And than whatever you spend for Food and beverages. WE also did the Segway tour which was $72.00 with our DVC discounts. We are looking at doing the Segway tour over at Fort Wilderness this year.

There is no pressure to hang out together, unless you are Pam and you are with me, who leaves a purse on a bus..... not pretty, poor Pam, dragged all over Downtown Disney to meet up with a Cast member from Allentown, holding my purse..

As soon as I get the group prices I am reguesting a deposit, but if it's short notice not to worry, we can still get you in. The other factor is the timing of Soutwest and their airfare releases. August is out now, so I suspect October will be out by April. When Airfare comes out I can post again, and see if anyone is interested in having me get their airrfare and go from there.

Here's hoping to Tara still having her head.

Oh, if anyone is interested in having a mini-meet, Pam and I will be having coffee at Starbucks in Trexlertown tomorrow evening. At 7pm.

Ok got the info, thanks.

Hey wow I started a pi--ing match on my thread on the CB about my 10-yo & the ATV thing. Normally I keep my mouth shut (I did ask for opnions) but an OP really let me have it. It's an OP that generally loves to cause conflict on the boards, which I usually ignore because all those people want is a nasty response anyway. But I'm not in the mood. They attacked my parenting skills & DS10 personally so I shot right back.

Feel free to chime in - unless you're going to bash me too!!! Then just let me have it nicely here in this thread please!

Hey thanks for the support Jessamy!!

No problem. I've never used the ignore feature on here, but it might make you feel better if you use it on CB.

Here is a link to Tara's thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1710193.

Hey did you see that from now on when threads hit appx. 3750 posts they will be locked...& will need to be re-started? We have about 2000 posts to go!!!! Well when we re-start it can someone PLEASE capitalize the word "I'M" in our title....it's been driving me nuts since day 1!

Getting out the popcorn. Now they're not only flaming me on that other thread, they're flaming each other too! popcorn::

So what are everyone's thoughts on the superbowl. Tom Petty's first song really showed his age. His songs got better after that. My DS is a Giants fan and I called him after the game to see if he had fingernails left. He did, but not many. Hope all is well.

Isn't that what makes us Dis'ers great? Our ability to don a flameproof suit and let it all out. Nevermind who the casualties are

As the mother of 2 boys, I can certainly agree with what you did. It sounds like you were frustrated and let the "little ray of sunshine" have it. I have been the recipient of the mouth of some little darlings. Example, I was team mom for my youngest's T-ball team. We had a system of putting them in numerical order for batting (and then reverse the order the next inning). I was putting them in order when Little Logan turned to me and said "You're not the boss of me!". :scared1: Really? I stated to the 5 year old, "Perhaps we should ask the coach who is the boss of you?" While it didn't escalate to the degree that your situation did, he was only five. I can only imagine what words of wisdom come from Logan's mouth eight years later.

Tara, you sure know how to start a thing or two. This is getting like some stuff I've seen over on the DVC boards, when somebody is room stuffing or bringing back refillable mugs.

I'm getting my popcorn and a beer to watch the goings on over on your thread.

can someone link me :) I'm afraid to post most stuff on here because of flame threads! They start over the simplest things!

Don't worry Linda, you're already "penciled-in" in case I start to plan!!!

Pam & Tracy have a girls trip planned for mid October (I think) - girls can you post some more info for those of us still thinking of joining you?

I usually get the Disney bug in summer, I start collecting all of DHs frequent flyer & hotel points to see how cheaply I can go. I know right now I don't have enough points for a room or a park hopper - but I'm working on it! I do have about $100 Disney VISA rewards dollars that expire 12/31/08 though.....they will be burning a hole in my pocket by July!

Why does my DH have to LOVE  WDW!!! I would be thrilled to do a girls only trip, but I am not sure he be ok with that. We have done our own seperate things, but this is one we BOTH love!!! :confused3

ROFL yeah it's still going on this morning. They're mostly mad at each other now over ATVs. I think I even said in my original post that I have nothing against ATVs, but I have serious issues with anyone (10-yr old or adult) riding them illegally and on my property, period. I think I need to go clarify a few things said about me overnight....just to add fuel to the fire...

Funny thing too - this kid (he really IS a handful, I could tell you stories that would make your head spin that DO include chain saws, like someone on the other post mentioned) - he wasn't in school yesterday or today. The last time this same babysitter watched him he convinced the sitter that school was closed for the day, and the sitter believed him, didn't even check! So I have a feeling he's pulling the wool over the sitters eyes once again. Or he has an injury from an ATV accident.....OH did I say that out loud?????? :rolleyes1 Ok I'm being terrible...I better get off my high horse before heading back to the other thread or I'll get myself in trouble.

LINDA - thanks for your support over there - I need it!

HelenePA I think Pam posted a link a few posts up.

Hey Fern! Lucky you, having a DH that enjoys Disney. Maybe someday....

nah, I'd rather go with the kids or the girls!

Hey Tara- Looks like a fun thread you got going on there, but I don't have the energy to tackle it right now :rotfl: . I started one on childhood obesity once that I'm particularly proud of....whoa boy you should have seen what hit the fan there!

So who in PA will be opening their pool this week? The 60s, how about that? It figures, we were planning to ski on Friday night and now I'm leary of the conditions. We go to Bear Creek near Macungie which isn't exactly the Poconos, you know? It's a real stretch to have good skiing there.

I'll be happy to dump the coat for a while, though.

I will be dumping my coat when I leave for WDW on Thursday. Sadly, I am going with cheerleaders and, personally I have NO problem yelling at someone else's kid, or even adults for that matter. I am making it my personal mission to point out smoking areas on the park. I "nicely" helped a guest who thought the doorway to the ladies room was a smoking area. I "gladly" pointed the actual smoking area on the park map to him. I even gave him my map. Aren't I nice. He was very appreciative. :rotfl:

Then there was the three small children wading. in the lake at Caribbean Beach. Perhaps they didn't see the 4 signs that said "No Swimming" The mother told me that they weren't swimming, they were just playing in the water :confused3 Ok fine. Wading up to their chest. ???

I thread I replied to spun out of control, getting a towncar company banned. :confused3 Whatever!!!!! I know what I know, they know what they know.

ROFL! We sound like we'd get along just fine! And I DO remember you telling me about the thread where-we-won't-say-the-town-car-company's-name - because you OBVIOUSLY are a secret employee just on here to throw their good name around....BTW I have spread very nice things about that company since I used them in December & they were FANTASTIC. I guess now I'm an employee too. DH & I have been sharing a vehicle for 2 weeks now - I'd be happy to drive anything - hey even that kid's ATV! Ok Tara, don't go there. Actually his car is done & we're going to Allentown to pick it up later today. Are you & Tracy still going to Starbucks in T-town later? If we pick up the car late I can meet you, his car is out on 222 in Wescosville.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I've given up on being team Mom for that very reason. sometime's I don't know who are worse, the kids or the parents who think their kids are the only important kid on the entire team.
