Hi i'm from P.A.!!!!

Have a GREAT time, Tara!! I bet you're so excited! Give PrincessAlways and OnceUponADream big hugs from us and take lots of pictures!!

Hope you all have a wonderful time. I will be thinking of you as am I working. Take care, Penny :hippie:

24 hours & counting! Boy this board got quiet once Princess Always & Once Upon a Dream left for Disney!! I'll be meeting them tomorrow night at the Boardwalk Bakery - can't wait!

Hey, that doesn't sound very nice!! :lmao: But too funny!! :lmao: I've been back since Friday & this is the first chance I've gotten to sit down at the computer!! Yes my fellow PAers, we did meet at the Boardwalk Bakery! We had a relaxing meet & just talked while enjoying the evening on the Boardwalk. This was the first time I stayed at the Boardwalk & I'd love to do it again! It was nice to finally meet a couple of DISers!

I actually had the opportunity to meet two others during my trip. I met "TheresaRuth" at the Kona Cafe. I just happened to notice that the 4 of them were wearing the Santa Mickey shirt that I have & complimented them on their good taste! ;) We started talking & I asked Theresa if she goes online for Disney info & the rest was history! Then while waiting for the bus back to the resort, a cute little lady noticed my LGMH & we were off to talking!!! That was "SnowBelle". Nice, nice people!!

Hope everyone is having, had or is going to have a great time. I'm off for the world on Wednesday. I have to be at the airport at 4am...I'm hoping it's open and they don't make me wait out in the cold. LOL

We leave on Thursday from LVIA and they don't open until 4:00 where are you leaving from?

We're back! Hey Linda & Fern - post the pictures we took! The one DS7 took didn't turn out too well, so hopefully you got better shots. Sorry I couldn't chat long, it was a long travel day & he was just done. I saw a major meltdown coming so we left. It was so nice to meet you guys though, even just to chat for 10 minutes! I never did ask you Linda - how did the pin trading go? We had so much fun doing it. We ended up collecting POTC (got tons), Haunted Mansion (only found 1 to trade the whole 5 days, but we bought more), and Pluto.

I had no idea ABE didn't open their doors til 4am! It was dead as usual when we left last Thursday morning and even more dead when we got in last night at 10:30. Our flights were cancelled out of Orlando into Charlotte, so we had to really scramble to get to MCO on time (USAir rebooked us on an earlier flight into Philly & never let me know, thankfully DH checked online from home & called me while we were waiting for our Sunray pick-up!) I called Roger & Bob at Sunray & they hustled to get us there on time. You locals know what kind of wind we had last night - holy moly the landing into Philly was horrible. DS7 got sick (others did too - that's how bad it was - people were gasping & praying out loud & clutching their airsick bags!) Then our flight to ABE was delayed for 2 hours & DS refused to get on, he was so scared of getting sick again & of the turbulence. It was not a pretty sight. He had a meltdown for about 2 hours. I even schlepped us outside over to another terminal to check for a taxi or rental car to drive home. No go on either. I thought they wouldn't let us get on the plane that's how much of a commotion he was making. I dragged him on (literally) and he fell asleep 5 minutes into the flight, thank goodness!

Welcome home everyone:sad2: Tara can I ask what time you left on Thur and were you 2 hours ahead? I can't imagine we really need to be there so early. I stopped in Yankee while you were gone, I was down there and couldn't pass up seeing if by chance you were there, even though I did know you were with Mickey. Sometimes by brain is not turned on:rolleyes1

Welcome back! :cool1:

I'm so sorry that y'all had such bad turbulence. I'm thankful everyone made it down safely. Hopefully DS won't be too scared to try flying again.

We were there at what I thought would be a very busy time but wasn't - the flight departed at 8:40am. We didn't get there til 8 & got thru security & to the gate in 5 min. We had pre-printed our boarding passes ahead of time so no need to check in at the counter. But there were only about 5 people in line at the counter anyway. DH leaves from ABE every week & never arrives more than 45 min. ahead. I know they say that is risky but we've never had a problem. When he leaves from Philly though he does allow more time.

Great to meet you Tara. Don't worry about not being able to stay very long. We both understood. Your son is adorable! The pin trading was fun! I felt like a little kid. One CM told me that I really scored a good pin. It was a "Year of a Million Dreams" pin that is given when a wish is granted. She said the person who gave it to me probably didn't realize what it was. That doesn't sound right to me, since it was a CM who traded it, but that's what she said. I didn't really buy anymore to trade, just had fun with the ones I brought from home. I didn't have a chance to get my pictures done yet, but I will post our picture when I do!

OMG!!! I actually was thinking of you last night. I couldn't remember what day you were returning & hoping it wasn't yesterday. Your poor son! I think you would've had to drag me onto another flight after that too! I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a great flyer! Was the entire flight turbulent or just the landing? Can't even imagine what it was like with all those people getting sick & "slightly" scared! :scared1: Thank God it all turned out fine in the end!

It was just the descent into Philly, about 10 minutes (that felt like 10 hours to me!) Is your YOAMD pin one that opens up like a locket? We saw one of those that I thought was neat, but DS didn't like it. The last day he decided he really wanted pins of Figment & Marie from Aristocats - those are very hard to find to trade! We didn't find any Marie's, so I bought him one, and he did manage to find 2 Figments to trade! A nice CM gave him a Dale pin just for the heck of it - he didn't even have his lanyard on that night, and when he finished all the Kids Spot areas in AK they gave him a neat Mickey & Jiminy Cricket pin for that. So he got 2 freebies along the way. I think I enjoyed the trading just as much as he did. There was a guy in MK totally decked out in NBXmas Jack Skellington garb from his hat to his socks - and he had pins - so I asked if he had anything to trade because we had one NBXmas pin left (we started with 4 or 5 from eBay & we're not NBC fans) - he was thrilled to death because we had one that he didn't. He only had one non-NBXmas to trade that DS didn't want but I made him trade it so the other guy would be happy. That's the fun of it!

My pin doesn't look like a locket. It's silver & blue & has pictures of Mickey & Minnie on the sides. The words YOMD & something about a wish. Sounds like DS7 had a great time trading! I don't know if I'll do it again, but it was fun. We'll see.

Hi Everyone - we're backkkkk!!!! This board will be "lit up" now. :surfweb:

It was great to finally meet Tara and Linda, too. :grouphug: You were both awesome and everyone's family Tara's son, Linda's Mom and my DH & DBFF were very patient with all of our Dis craziness. I think they finally "get it" now.

We ended up leaving early Sunday - the weather was bad back here in Philly, we had check out of POR on Saturday and gone to US/IoA, but were too tired to really enjoy it. It was really tough adjusting - sitting at the pool in the morning and getting off the plane in the snow and more snow today. I been bugging my DH for my favorite "whine" - "I wanna go to Florida":rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Tara, I bought so much stuff (which I said I wouldn't) that I ended up shipping it all home. As soon as my packages arrive, I will send your pins. I hope you like them, but if not, better to trade. The ferry driver from POR to DTD gave DBFF & me pins, too. I think the same ones Linda got. However, I really felt like I received a "Dream" pixiedust: thanks to Linda's generosity in sharing the tickets for MVMCP when her brother and his family could not attend. Hope he is feeling better soon.

I will post pix as soon as I can figure out how to do it. Need my DS, but he is sick with the flu. Got home on Sunday in time to wish DD Happy 21st Birthday.:cake: :drinking1

Hi Fern! :wave2: Glad you're home safe & sound! I know what you mean about you're favorite whine! :rotfl2: I don't know about you, but I get home & in a couple of days, I'm ready to go back again! ::yes:: How much "stuff" did you end up buying??? You're a woman after my own heart! I have my new ornaments hanging proudly on my Disney tree! Plus I have the Mickey snowman on my desk at work. Just love looking at him! He's so cute. Thanks for thinking about my brother. He's doing better. Doctor isn't recommending disc surgery now. He did make me laugh when he called last week. He was going down the list of rides & checking off which ones he can & can't go on. One of his favorites is a "sure" don't -- Splash Mt.

Tara Linda was talking about your flight home. Sure glad you got in safely. That definitely is scary. Linda said it was great to meet you. Saw Linda's treasures. they are great. Hope each of you got good deals also.

The board is so quiet these days - I think we're in Disney Lag - we're all sad to be home! I'm actully heading out shortly to drive to Massachusetts to the Longaberger BasketFest at the Yankee Candle Flagship store - how convenient that I work for Yankee AND Longaberger! I hope the icy roads are treated well, or it may take us all day to get there. I'm heading up with a girlfriend, we're staying overnight & heading home tomorrow afternoon. My Yankee manager is running a bus trip up there just for the day tomorrow, so I'll meet up with them in the morning. Keep on chatting!!!

Tara, that Yankee Candle factory is neat. When I was married to my previous husband we were up there for a Marriage Encounter weekend and stopped there on our way home. Incredible, that is is a word that comes to mind about that store. I kept going through the different rooms and looking at everything. I wish you safe travel. Enjoy.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello! I am from the Whitehall area.... looks like there are lots of people local to me! :)

I leave for WDW on 1/3, driving... PTR link in my signature :-)
