Hi i'm from P.A.!!!!

I was just wondering if any of you are using the Boscov's charter for your trip? We have used them twice now with no problems and it is a nonstop flight. We just had our meeting last night to pick up all of our stuff and I was sitting there in the meeting just wondering if anyone was a disboarder.

OMG did you local guys see - the Wachovia at the Promenade was robbed this morning "shortly before 9:30am" - I took the Yankee deposit in & my deposit slip is stamped 9:21am!!!!!!!!! Holy Moly I literally must have just missed the guy, or he was in behind me that I didn't see him! Freaky! They didn't catch him either.

Hmmm, Tara, you were in shortly before 9:30 am too? Perhaps you were aquiring extra money to........UPGRADE to an annual pass?

It was great meeting you yesterday.....annual pass.

Mickey&minnie04,

Haven't used Boscov's charter. But it is always interesting to hear how different things work.

I do know Fleetwood, though. A friend is a Kindergarten teacher in Fleetwood, and we spend many a summer evening at First Energy Park watching the Reading Phillies.

After I left the Promenade after meeting Schatz5k and TaraPA, I passed a car with a WDW licesne plate frame and a Mickey car medallion on it. It's a Small world after all....

Did you see the surveillance pic in the paper today - um, yeah, that's me!!! The double chins gave me away...

QUESTION - I know all you PA-ers out there can help me - DS7 has a slight interest in pin trading this trip (19 days to go!) We've done the autograph books & the pressed pennies in the past, so pin trading is new to us. Do we just get a starter set (I'm assuming off of eBay is ok) and then we can trade with CMs that have a green lanyard of pins on? Do we just approach the CM & ask to see their pins, or do they sometimes approach the kids first? Also - DS7 doesn't want to wear a lanyard with the pins on, he just wants to wear them on his shirt - is this allowed? Is there a minimum number of pins he has to have displayed in order to trade??

Yikes Tara :scared1: ! I saw that on WFMZ's website yesterday. Thank goodness you just missed it. That really freaks me out since Gray and I are usually at the Promenade Shops at least once a week.

Pin trading can become addicting, trust me :scared1:
Anywho, you can jut buy a starter set on Ebay. I know there have been Ebay sellers in the past who were listed on the Dis that had some great deals. You could search under "Disney Pin Lots". Stay away from ones that mention "Sedesma" in the description. While they are stamped Disney, I had seen CM's refuse to trade because they are definately not the same quality as the Disney pins. This listing looks good, but will at least give you an example of what to look for.

I wouldn't see any problem with him wearing the pins on his shirt, but the lanyard would be easier. I sometimes just carry a couple in my bag to trade. The green lanyards are for trading with kids under 12. He would have to ask the CM. Myabe if they notice him looking, they may offer. I have had that happen as well. Some of the CM's also wear them on their belt, so you have to look there as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

ANNUAL PASS

Hi from DuBois Pa:thumbsup2 Leaving in one week for the world. Of course flying out of Pittsburgh :cool1:

Thanks for the info Pam. I can see how pin trading can get VERY addicting. Just when you think you have the ones you want another CM will have better ones...and so on & so forth! Someone else recommended www.mousepinsonline.com - they are just $1.75-$2 each, and $4.95 S&H for as many as you order. I might get a few on there before we go.

Did I hear something??? Upgrade...upgrade.....hmmmm maybe it was just the wind...

Pin Trading....that's something I have always thought about starting! However, the addiction & the money scare me!! :scared1: I know darn well, if I start.....look out! I have browsed on Ebay, but that always seems to be expensive when you add the shipping! I checked out the one you found, Tara. It looks reasonable, but I hesitate to start!! Let me know if you order. I'll follow your adventure with pin trading!

On another note, I'm trying something different this trip for a birthday celebration. I ordered a cake for my SIL from the Boardwalk Bakery to be delivered to the villa the day we check in. It should be there when we arrive from our busy day at the parks! I started looking on the "cake" thread & just had to try one! You should see those beautiful cakes! Anyway, it's a 10" vanilla cake, with chocolate mousse filling & buttercream icing with Tinkerbelle on the top! Can't wait to see (& eat) it!!! Honestly, you'd think I was a little kid! :rotfl: I'll post pictures when I get back!

WOW Princess Always that cake sound incredible!!!!! Let us know how it really is & if they deliver it on time. Maybe I will have cake at or DIS Meet if they sell it by the slice!

Ok I think I'm sold on the pin trading - and I know I will get addicted - much moreso than my kids! I'm watching a few lots on eBay, I will see if I can get those cheap, if not I'll place an order with that other site. I can see what is going to happen - I will then NEED to have ALL the pins ever made, and I will have started this addiction that will cost me millions.....ok really, hundreds or thousands! Does anyone know of a site that lists all the pins ever made?

:wizard:

Oh Tara, "all the pins ever made"????????? See what I'm afraid of???!!!!!!!! :scared1: That would be me too!!!:rotfl: You know, eventually, I will HAVE to start!! :lmao:

Our trips are getting closer!!! Isn't it special??!!!!

Oh Lord...my eyes are crossing from searching the pin lots on eBay....:crazy2: and they never go as cheap as I thought they would! I assumed (silly me) that I could get like 10-15 pins for $20. Wrong! I'll keep watching over the next few days...

LOL, Tara! I can't even imagine collecting all the pins ever made! I had no clue they even did pin trading and thought it might be nice for my daughter to start. I was thinking they had about 100 or so different pins to collect, so I figured she could start with the princesses and looked up Ariel. 339 pins of Ariel, alone!!! Holy Moly!!!!! I think we'll just get a few and be happy with that! :scared1:

The key to NOT overindulging is to focus on a certain kind of pin. Kids are easy and will usually focus on a certain character. Us adults, well.....anywho.

Tara, I noticed that you posted on the budget board about this. There are "pin-purists" who despise the ProPins and Bertoni pins that are listed on mousepinsonline. They kind of dilute the pool of pins that are on the CM lanyards. Since a lot of people are purchasing the bargain pin lots for trading, and trading those pins for the usually nicer pins on the CM lanyards, that leaves the CM's with not so nice pins. Can you follow that? I hope so. There are also "pin-sharks" who will seek out special pins. That's why you should really stick to trading with CM's.

I did see someone mentioned the Disney Store for pins. I completely forgot about those. Those are tradeable as well.

I have gotten some great deals on real Disney pins on Ebay. I once got a lot of 50 pins for $75. All of the pins were still on the original cards. That was an awesome deal. If I pay $2-$3 per pin in a lot, I feel good. The retail price starts at $6.95, so I am already at 50%.

Now, I need to get back to work.

Oh Pam I've already gotten PMs from the pin purists as you call them, flaming me for even suggesting eBay for pin lots. I also had a nice PM from a CM about what to look for, how to trade, etc. I will still search eBay anyway, it's become an addiction of sorts. I'm watching a few lots that end today & tonight.

Thanks everyone for the pin tips. I think we will stick to POTC & Haunted Mansion themed pins, maybe a cute Tink for myself.

I was up at The Crossings today - it was flurrying! Winter is coming!
