Hi i'm from P.A.!!!!

I just booked my Nov 14 -20 trip over the weekend!! :cool1: Staying at POP and got a Philly to MCO flight on Southwest for $36 :thumbsup2

Just renewed my HersheyPark pass today...wishing it were for the world. Going there in Dec for a month! Great having friends in Orlando! :cool1:

We need to renew ours, as well. As much as we enjoy going to HersheyPark, I can't help but compare it to WDW every time.

At least those of you near Hershey have a nice, clean, family park to go to (when we can't go to the World of course!) - we're near Dorney - you couldn't PAY ME to go to Dorney. It's really gone downhill since I was a kid (eons ago). It's over-crowded, dirty & just not a safe place. Just my opinion of course.

Antss2001 is probably on the plane right now....off to Orlando!

Tara I know what you mean about Dorney, I went there this summer because we take the kids from my summer job but:sad2: It's definitely no Disney! And I am good to not go for another few years!

Dorney has turned into the pits!!! :sad2:

Just renewed our Hersheypark passes too! I would rather be close to WDW too but this is a nice alternative. We can be there in 20 minutes! DD loves to ride so I can't imagine not living near a nice family-oriented theme park!

I just wanted to introduce myself as a new PA'er, having just relocated to Pittsburgh from Fargo, ND.

I've been off the DIS for a while because of the move, but I consider it a good sign that the first day I'm back I find this thread. I have to say that Pghers are some of the friendliest folk I've ever met and I'm loving the city so far!!!!! I'm looking forward to settling in, learning the city, etc.

As for Disney, of course I love it. I think I'm going to love SW flights and DING fares (previously unavailable to me). And we're hoping on going to WDW for the first time in several years, after having gone to DL on our last several trips, in January 2008.

Welcome to Pittsburgh!! It is a friendly city! Which area do you live in? I am in the North - Hampton Township.

I'm living in the city, near Frick Park & Regent Square. We're renting an apt. while we figure out the many different Pittsburghs within Pittsburgh, let alone all the other areas.

I'm looking forward to trying out Kennywood, Idlewild, and Hersheypark (eventually), and I'd love to hear more about them. But my heart will always belong to the Mouse.

That's a great rate! I've used Southwest & Airtran previously & go with whichever is cheaper! It's also why I'm so tentative about purchasing my ticket down on Airtran for $203! Now I remember why we didn't travel on a Sunday before!!! I have my ticket home, which was only $49. What to do, what to do!!! :confused3 I'm afraid if I wait longer, the price will go even higher or worse yet, sell out! I'll probably chicken out today or tomorrow & buy the stupid thing.

I'll be there then!! DS7 & I are taking a Mommy & Me trip 11/29-12/3, staying at The Dolphin. Where are you staying? DH & DS10 will be in Philly for the Eagles/Seahawks game that weekend. I'm about 45 min. north of NE Philly. Howdy neighbor! :hippie:

Hi: It sure was exciting to sign on tonight and see this response:banana: . We were able to take advantage of the special rates at this time and upgrade from ASMu to the POR:cool1: It will be DH, DBFF and myself. Got another response too, so maybe it would be possible to meet up at "the world". I already have my itinerary figured out, so I know which park I will be on which day. I am kinda new at being a DISer, but I am addicted, for sure.

P.S. (45 minutes is right around the corner for me - what area do you live, neighbor?)

I'll be there the same time! Staying at BWV. Another poster & I are going to try to "meet" when she gets there. Perhaps we could arrange something all together. It doesn't have to take up alot of time. Just to say hello, take some pictures, talk a little DIS or go on a ride together! :rotfl: What do you think?? Let me know. popcorn::

As I told TaraPA, it was very exciting to have responses to my OP:banana: when I signed on tonight. DH, DBFF and myself are staying at the POR. I have my entire itinerary pretty much figured out (have been planning for months......lol), but I would love to meet up with some fellow DISers (especially those from PA :cheer2: ) if possible. I don't know how to PM, but if you, maybe we could make arrangements??

DH, DD and I went to Hershey for the first time in a couple of years with my friend from work and her "crew". We were looking forward to checking out the new Boardwalk section. The whole park was sooooooo crowded:headache: It was the week before schools went back and maybe earlier in the season was better, but the crowds were unreal.:crowded: We hardly got to do any rides. DH and DD love the "wilder" rides, by I am a real chicken, and there wasn't all that much to do, especially w/o DS to keep me company......lol. Really can't even compare it to WDW, that's for sure. Of course, when my kids were younger and we couldn't take them out of school, we suffered the Disney crowds and heat of August and that was no picnic either. Still, there is more to do for those of us with tamer tastes and the last week of August is (slightly) less crowded as far as summer crowds go.

I must say, though, that on our last trip to WDW (Nov. 2004), DH & I treated ourselves to the Premium Plan (first trip w/o the kids - they couldn't believe we went to Disney without them........:confused3 ) and treated ourselves to a spa treatment at the Grand Floridian. The Hershey Spa beats them hands down - they have the best spa I have ever been to (maybe it is the candy dishes full of "kisses", but there is nothing like being smothered in chocolate:rotfl2:

Bringing my DBFF on this trip. She hasn't been in 20 years since her kids were small. Can't wait for her to see all the changes. She is a native Philadelphian, too, but has been transplanted to Virginia for the past few years (way too many for me).pixiedust:

:cheer2: way to go OnceUponADream07....you did it!!!

Hey everyone! :wave2: ...looks like I have some catchin' up to do :surfweb:

Hey OnceUponADream07! I'm in Hellertown, how about you? POR is on my WDW Resort "Wish List." I want to stay at all of them! Is DBFF your Dear Best Friend Forever?? At first I couldn't figure it out - I was thinking Dear BoyFriend's Father???? :confused3

:rotfl:

:rotfl:

I am in Northeast Philly in the Somerton section. I am not sure where Hellertown is? What is it near?

I would love to try all the hotels at WDW, but since we always used to stay with our friend who lives @ a mile from AK, we haven't tried too many of the resorts. Since 2004 when we started coming without our kids, we have been splurging and staying on-site. Went to POR then and DH really wanted to go back. I would have tried CBR or someplace, but why mess with a good thing, huh??
I think DBFF is Disney Best Friend Forever?? I would have loved to have brought my Dear BoyFriend's Father or Dear BoyFriend, but didn't think DH woulda been too happy with that:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Hey friends, I'm here too!! How cool is that!
I sent you a PM! We'll have to try getting a meet together! :grouphug:

Hail Hail the gang's all here.....is that from a song or a movie???

Hellertown is 5 min. south of Bethlehem, 5 min. east of Allentown & 5 min. west of Easton, if that helps you out at all!

Okay...so I only read the last page :rolleyes1

We visit Dorney every year for DH's company picnic (usually the first Saturday of June, but this year it was the 2nd Saturday...not crowded those days!)

We went to Hersheypark this year ON Mother's Day. I had heard it's not crowded on that day, so I figured why not?? It was a beautiful day..... so we went....and the rumor was true!!! The longest wait was maybe 15 minutes for StormRunner coaster...which, was way cool btw.... Everything else was walk-on :thumbsup2 Even front row of Big Bear coaster (or whatever the name is).

We like both parks....

Okay...we are Flyers fans and Eagles fans....we're not really into basketball or baseball (altho, we WILL watch baseball)

We live about 10-15 minutes east from the Vanity Fair Outlets in Reading,Pa. DH works in West Chester, and I work in Pottstown. Bubba is our only and he will be 9 in January.

DH was born in Cherry Hill, NJ, and I at Einstein Hospital in Philly. Lived in the northeast part of Philly until I moved at 8 yrs. old. My family is still in NE Philly.... Mom grew up in Juniata section of Philly and attended Little Flower for girls....

That's a little about me.....I'll be tryin' to catch up on this thread....I gots lots to read

Not sure if it is a song or a movie, but it's all kewl:cool1:

Ok, I got the gist of where you are located. My DD attended Bloomsburg University until spring, but she is finishing up in Philly. Can't afford trips to WDW with her on the 5, 6 or 7 year plan:rotfl: I work for the State courts and one of our Judges is located in Bethlehem, so I feel like I have "family" there.

Hope we can meet up. Hopefully PricessAlways will keep you posted. I am still learning the ropes.

I "brought over" Bubba's Mom from another link, because she has been so helpful showing me the ropes and I know she is a fellow Pennsylvanian.:grouphug:

We try to get up to the VF Outlets a couple of times a year, maybe we can meet there. Where in NE Philly is your family? I am in Somerton, right by Nabisco. Glad you are all Eagles Fans - we can stay "friends" now :flower3:
