Still feeling really jet lagged...got back yesterday.. :thumbsup2

Really missing it already..but Dh has been totally won over by disney and we are going to book soon for next year....now that free dining has been offered..that totally convinced him as he LOVED the dining plan.

A few quick details...It was a FANTASTIC holiday ...my itinerary worked really well...even if I say so myself ;)

Got to do everything i hoped for...Waking up tink(myDD6)..Riding barnstormer with Goofy ...and they were both the first day.
Riding the monorail up front...(done this several times) :thumbsup2

Contemporary was brilliant....didn't have a good view, but it was close to the walkway and in just 10 mins we were in MK...worth it for this alone.

Also really enjoyed the second week in Bahama bay...good to have more room to spread out. :)

Best of all was getting to the parks early really worked out well...we never waited more than 10 mins for any ride. :wizard:

If any one has any questions I'd be glad to answer.

Glad you had a good holiday - it's worth the jet lag, isn't it :thumbsup2

My friend got back on Friday from 2 weeks at Bahama Bay - said it was quite busy at night with teenagers running riot!

welcome back

How did yo ride with Goofy on the Barn stormer please???

My DD would LOVe to do this ?

What you rode Barnstormer with Goofy ?? How fab is that.

Welcome home, glad you had a great time :)

Welcome home ~ Sounds as though you had a fantastic time.

Hi...to ride with goofy we got to the 10am rope drop for toon town and I told my dd to head straight to goofy...who was standing outside his ride.
Most other kids headed straight to other characters..so my dd got to goofy and he gave her a hug and led her on to the ride with him...they walked hand in hand straight to the front and rode together on the first car. DD was delighted :sunny:

Although he doesn't do this every morning...as we were at the rope drop on two other mornings and each time he just waved to kids and then walked awat to the judges tent...but I had heard he does it so we tried and luckily it worked. I didn't tell dd about it though beforehand...just in case. ;)

Same with waking up tink....I didn't tell her...just in case. :teeth:

welcome back - seems like you had a great time

How cool is that to ride with goofy my ds would have been made up

I've read about riding with Goofy and waking up Tink, but it's great to 'know' someone who's actually done it. Tell us the Tink story, too! :thumbsup2

excellent about riding with goofy, my dd saw him on the planing dvd on the ride and asked me if she could ride with goofy. I said I doubt it as I just thought it was only for the promotional material. Will have to give it a try.

I had read so much about the waking up tink and I knew my dd would love it as Tink her her favourite :wizard: ...So I was going to try but not be upset if it didn't work out...as I have read that it is getting popular and very competive with mums and kids making mad sprints to the shop at rope drop. :teeth:

It was our first morning and we had had an early breakfast 8am at the crystal palace. This was a perfect way to start the holiday...Our first glimpse of the magic kngdom was of a deserted main street and castle..well worth doing for the great pics.
We jumped a ride in the car that goes up main street...DD was dressed as minnie mouse..complete with ears and loved waving to the few people who were also walking up the street.

Breakfast was delicious...it was just what we needed after being up so early and the heat...it set us up for the next couple of hours of commando touring I had planned ;) ..plus dd got to meet all the winnie the pooh characters and got her first autographs.

We left breakfast at 8.45 and went to wait at the rope drop for fantasy land...I was getting anxious about tink. There were only a few other families there and I had no idea if they were even aware of the tink thing or not.

We positioned ourselves next to the rope on the left hand side....I hoped this was were they would drop the rope. Tinkerbells treasures was only about 30 feet or so from the rope drop...the door was open. The other families next to us looked quite relaxed so I didn't think they were going to go for it but I couldn't be sure.

I bent down and whispered to my dd to run straight into the shop when the rope drops. She looked puzzled but i whispered she might see tink :)
I told her to run staight in and shout tinkerbell in the shop.
At about 2 mins to 9 we looked behind us and could see a great mass of people storming up main street...My nerves grew...the CM was holding the rope getting ready to drop it...I felt like shouting just drop it woman...but didn't :teeth:
She starting counting down...and then hooray she dropped it right by us..dd sprinted with me into tinkerbells treasures..and we shouted wake up tink.
I noticed that the few other families at rope drop seemed to head to dumbo...so they probably were unaware after all.

Hooray we had done it!! ..we were the first into the shop that day..and the CM there went out back to get a magic wand for dd to tap the box were tinkerbell sleeps..she had to say some magic words and tinkerbell "flew" out the box with a few bright tinkles and then a wonderful glittery sound filtered through the shop.

DD was delighted with this...and i had tears in my eyes..she was then given a certificate.

Whilst we were doing this...two other familire ran in shouting for tinkerbell..but the CM told them tink was already awake. :cheer2:

So if anyone wants to try this I reccomend the CP early breakfast.

Welcome back! :wave2: It sounds like you had a great trip. I loved the Tinkerbell story, it brought tears to my eyes! We're having breakfast at CP on the morning of DD's birthday, so perhaps I'll give it a go. I'd better start training for that sprint!

Oooh, that Tinkerbell story is lovely :goodvibes :wizard: You sound like you had an amazing holiday

Gosh i remember waking up Tink with DD last january and you captured how I felt exactly, I got nervous and excited just like you, DD has the certificate up in her room still, so magical. I'll never forget the sprint up Main St either, i was tired before the day started. :teeth:

Sounds like a great holiday, welcome home :thumbsup2
