Hey...this is a cool board. Don't think I've been over here yet!! Hi everyone!! :wave2:

I have a question for all you world travelers.. :p I have two boys, 10 and 8. My friend has a 10 yr old daughter. We want to go somewhere warm in mid January with the kids (leaving my dh home, my friend is a recent widow).

We had an RCCL cruise booked but had to cancel because the 10 yr olds have state tests that week. Bummer. I'm not finding any great cruise deals now so we're thinking about an all inclusive place.

Anyone have any suggestions on all inclusives? We'd just like a nice beach, and a place that has activities for the kids -- so the mom's can get some much needed rest! Not too expensive either.

So....where have YOU been and did you love it???

Welcome to the CB. I'll bump this up for you - I'm sure someone can help you out. You can always bump it up after the weekend if you need to. I think a lot of regular CB people aren't around on Friday nights.

And don't mind Pop Daddy - he's really harmless (Be nice, Pop Daddy - don't frighten the new people away ;)!)

This may be possible...check out Mexico, either Cancun or Cozumel would be good. There are a lot of all inclusives there and the weather mid-January is fantastic. Expedia would be a good place to research. I can reccomend two all inclusives for you, but they are a little on the high end, but in my opinion, well worth it.
In Cancun the Moon Palace Resort. In Cozumel, Grand Coxumel Occidental. Actually, I just remembered looking at the Beach Palace in Cancun, it was a little more reasonable and very family oriented.

Good Luck!

Thanks! from the research I've been doing, looks like Mexico is the least expensive. We're also considering Aruba or Punta Cana.

Welcome to the CB! :)

When my brother & I were kids, our parents took us to the Bahamas and that was nice. We stayed in a safe area, and really liked the beach.

Thanks for all the nice welcomes! Bahamas...hmmm..hadn't thought of that. How's the weather there in January?? Warm enough to swim...or is it Bermuda I'm thinking of?

I'm gonna go check out the Bahamas! :hyper:
