I am new and just wonder about this i am 15 and i got testing done for thyroid but that was not the case i am embarresed to say but i am very over wieght and i would like to know some of you secrets and a lil about this boards thanks alot
 
This is a great place to go for support in whatever plan you choose. Most people here are either on Weight Watchers or like me on Atkins. Do some research and decide which way you want to go. You will get great answers and lots of caring around here.

Hi StitchGirl and welcome to WISH :wave: If you are planning to lose some weight the first thing that you have to do is find a plan that will work for you. There are people on WISH that follow all kinds of different plans, so if you have any questions someone should be able to help you. At the end of the day there really is no secret to losing weight, it just takes sticking to your plan, and getting some exercise. It is hard work but once you start seeing the pounds come of it motivates you to keep on going. I hope that you decide to take the WISH challenge, it would be great to have you here with us. BTW there is no need to feel embarassed, here at WISH, we have all been there, so we know how you feel.

One thing I strongly encourage you to do is see your Doctor. I know that wasn't mentiond in your OP, but being 15 is way different from being 20, 30, 40, and older. You have many things to consider at your age. Lucky you! Your body is still growing and you may simply need to cut out junk food and get moving a bit. Actually, that formula works well for just about everybody, but you have the added benefit of youth. Trust folks when you hear them say it just gets harder with age. I'm so glad you came here for support. We are committed to keeping motivation as well a spirits high! I think your Doc will have great advice about what you should be thinking about in terms of activity level, as well as possible food restrictions. After that, visit us and let us know what you are doing so we can support your new life path!

I agree about seeing a doctor. At 15, you need to make sure you are doing this right.

The main thing is to not do anything drastic like starve yourself, or do some not healthy for you diet. See what your doctor reccommends and do it under his supervision.

You definately have youth on your side, and I wish you great success. You can do it, and we are here for you! Welcome to WISH.

Also, get your parents in your corner and ask for their help. With your parents, doctor and us here at WISH you will have quite a cheering section!

thanks for everyones support! I have asked my doctor and he was one of the ones to say get on an exercise program and so on so i am going today to my cousin and her hurbands gym they own and i am on fitness program at school we are on of the few and lucky schools that have it and it is great my cousins gym is set up just like the school so i am glade i will be ready for it!! and i am on weight watchers starting monday i don't eat alot of junk food that s what every one is astanished aboutthey don't know why i have so much weight i was on steriods for asthma and it put a lil weight on me and just keep coming after i got off it!! thanks again for all the support and if anyone else needs it i am here all the way!! I am have questions in the futur like the two i have now like if you lose weight and you want to change the puprle thing that has how much you lost how would you go about doing so i am still confused about that??? And the last question can you change the color of the purple to a different color like baby blue or something?? THANKS AGAIN!! BUH~BYE

Hi Samie :wave: I'm glad you're joining us here on WISH! And there is no need to be embarassed! We are all in the same boat, here!! I think it's wonderful that you are joining WW and going to the gym to get healthy!! It sounds like your school is pretty far ahead of other schools in that respect, too!

The first time you change your purple member clippie to a 5 lb one, you will need to go back to the clip art thread and re-copy the code for the 5 lb clip art. After that it is really easy to change because all you have to do is change the part where it reads 5wish.gif to 10. Was that confusing enough?? Don't worry, there is always someone around who can help when the time comes!! :D As far as I know, I don't think you can change the color of the clippie.
